I turned 40 in Dec/2005. I'm totally confused and wanted to hear from other women who might have experienced what I am going through.
I had a tubal Dec/1994 after my third child was born in October. October/2005, I had a miscarriage. Didn't even know I COULD get pregnant. In fact, when my husband presented me with a ring, one of the things we discussed is that I would never be able to give him a child (he's younger and has no children of his own).
The thing about it is - before I miscarried, I noticed some unusual things going on with my body. I had pimples galore! My menstrual became very short and spotty. The areola on my br___ts changed colors. I was so tired and emotional. But, the thing that really clued me in was a very stretchy discharge streaked with blood. I went ahead and took an hpt, knowing full well I could not get pregnant, and the test came up negative - just as i knew it would. Then in mid-october, I felt my water break! A nasty looking discharge followed, but no embryo or fetus. After the bleeding stopped, i continued to have pains in my abdoment that literally doubled me over. After three days of that, I passed the embryo or fetus ... guess it was about 8 weeks gestation, but can't be sure because i'm going by size. Anyway - ended up in the emergency room with a uterine infection and the doctor suggested i look into having the sterilation redone or other method of birth control. I told him I'd like to have another child - so it was dropped.
Now - I'm going through the exact same thing again! No period - light spotting last month around the 1st. Passed the same stretchy egg-white discharge with streaked blood - just like before ... br___ts barely fit into the bra I wear - areola dark - nausea - headaches - mood swings - enlarged abdomen is almost freaky for the time frame I'm looking at - oily skin ... and my hair is SO OILY that I can't even get it to look right. Took hpt on 6th and it was faint positive - but another on 13th after having some doubts showed neg. Went to clinic on 23rd and they told me neg., too ... but nurse said to act like I am pregnant until I see a doctor, because she said tests aren't always right ... said i may still be pregnant. But, the time frame should have given a pos. result. The test was taken mid-morning so I'm thinking maybe it was diluted, but some of the things I've read indicate it should have showed pos. regardless at this stage. I'm thinking IF I conceived - probably around Jan. 18th conception.
So, I've convinced myself I am just crazy and not pregnant at all - but symptoms persists ... and i have this hard protrusion low in my abdomen - my whole stomach looks like a pregnant woman.
My husband tells me I AM pregnant and the test is wrong, but I really don't want to go psychosomatic here.
Has anyone out there had this happen? why? anyone had false neg three weeks after missed period? Did they say why?
I'm fishing here ... I know I need to see a doctor soon, but my husband just started a new job ... so, if anyone has anything helpful, I'd be so obliged to hear about it.
