Should I Be Concerned W Vision Problems

For the last couple of days I've been having problems with my vision. When I was reading about it online it was saying that it could mean complications in the pregnancy. But it said that it would most likely occur later on in the pregnancy and I'm only ~7 wks? Has anyone experienced this at all? I'm an accountant and so it's month-end and I am at my computer more than usual, so perhaps it's just normal strain? The computer screen just seems to look blurry and I'm having a hard time focusing. Should I call the Dr or is this just a normal symptom of pregnancy? I can't seem to find any answers anywhere...I do wear contacts, perhaps I should start wearing my glasses.

Hey there BM5, just me. I have had preeclampsia with my pregnacies and that is more a mid-to end type of thing, but however when I had my kids, my eyes changed and I could not wear my contacts while preg. Then after birth my eyes went back to normal. You should see your dr and have them double checked to be safe. ttyl.

I don't know if your vision can change as early as 7 weeks but it's possible. My vision seemed to get gradually worse until I could not see anything clearly out of my left eye so I went to my optometrist and got a new pair of contact lenses (gas permeable) as well as a prescription for gla__ses. She told me that vision does fluctuate during pregnancy and that I was wasting my money but I figured that between my two pairs of contacts one or the other would work out. My only other option was a blurry left eye which I could not handle. I was also told that vision may not revert back to normal but it will even out after the pregnancy. So I'm having my vision re-checked and new prescription if needed 3 or 4 months after the baby is born. Since you rely on your eyes for work, you may want to try a couple of different reading gla__ses that you can buy for cheap at a pharmacy or store--I'd check with your optometrist.

Thanks for info, LM3 and Perl. It's just so annoying and now my back is starting to hurt from leaning forward so much to read. It's making my month-end not so much fun! (not that it ever really is!) Maybe more breaks away from the screen until I can get in to see the Doc, of course all of my bathroom trips should be enough! It's hard to make calls at work as no one here knows yet, so it makes it difficult not to cause any attention :) I've already got everyone talking because this morning I could've swore I smelled someone making eggs! They all thought I was crazy! LOL Probably wishful thinking because as soon as I smelled them I wanted some!

hey, just to let you know, I was an optician for 10 years and during pregnancy your vision changes because of hormone levels. they really tell you not to get your vision checked during pregnancy because it could waste your money because after pregnancy it changes as your hormone levels drop. this early in pregnancy i would not worry about preeclampsia-that happens later in pregnancies but any kind of changes should still be reported to your dr. Good luck!
