Silly Question P

The books state that once the sperm meets up with the egg that it takes 5 or so days for it to travel up the tubes. Well my question is if you take a preg test during that time will it show up as being positive.

no...it is too early at that point. You will not get a positive until several days AFTER the fertilized egg has implanted in the uterus. Once the implantation has occured, your body is signalled to begin producing pg hormones (Hcg)...it takes a few day to build up levels high enough to result in a positive pg test. Keep in mind also that the time for the egg to travel can be up to almost 2 weeks!! So, best to test around the time of your expected period, as this is typically 2 weeks after ovulation for most women. I would never ever think to test sooner than 10 days after ovulation has occured. And even then, you are running the risk of just wasting tests until your Hcg levels are high enough to get your positive result (if pg). Good Luck and God Bless!
