My Doctor just informed me that I have to see the anaesthesiologist as I have a lower back tattoo and they might refuse an epidural????
Does anyone know anything about this?

I had an epidural with Katie and I have a lower back tattoo and no one ever mentioned anything about not being able to get one. by the way I'm also a RN and have never heard of such a thing.

Did the epidural affect the tattoo? I never even thought about that.

Im not a nurse, but maybe they are concerned about scar tissue and how that would impact needle insertion??

maybe they're afraid of a reaction with the ink. i never had an epidural so i really don't know, sorry.
