Trying Again And Holiday Due What About Flying

I had a miscarriage two weeks ago and stopped bleeding a week ago. I am 42 years old so am conscious of my age and time ticking away. My problem is that I have a holiday booked in August which involves a two hour flight each way. Should I play really safe and wait until after my holiday before trying for another baby or should I just go for it and start trying as soon as I have had my first period, or even more reckless,I know, should I start trying now before I have even had another period? I am so ready and desperate to try again but obviously don't want to risk another miscarriage. On the other hand waiting until September before trying again seems an age away, and at my age, an amount of time I just cannot afford to lose. Has any one been in a similiar position, or took a flight at just a few weeks pregnant? Any advice would be very welcome, thank you .

Hi, I just turned 43 and ttc for #1 also. I know everyone says not to worry about flying but I know I do. I may be going to England in Oct but will wait to bk in case I get pg b4 that. Maybe you should check with your doc if not too sure...lots of baby dust coming your way...don't duck!...Sam

Thank you for your reply. I have an appointment at the Doctor's next Friday so will ask him then. Good luck with your plans and fingers crossed for both of us and everyone trying x

I am ttcing for my 4th and having not much luck. I am going to Mexico ( 5 hr flight) in Oct and was told its fine to fly, I would be 22 weeks if this is my BFP month. Please let us know what your dr says, I'd really appreciate hearing their opinion. Thanks!

I am 35 will be 36 next month. I had a m/c in March and went on vacation In April 4 hour flight. I had Ovulated the day before we left I flew back home 4 hours and a few days later I got my BFP! I am now 12 weeks and everything is going great! I say don't wait I don't think flying affects us that much I know it didn't my little one! Good Luck and hope you get pregnant again very quickly! It really helps to get past the m/c not that it makes you forget or anything but it does help to be able to focus on happiness again!

Thank you for your reply. I cant wait to focus on being happy again. I think I have missed the boat the month, as I think I ovaluated on Sunday -tuesday this week, but as soon as I get my first period I will go for it! Good luck to all x

Flying is safe in pregnancy as well as for those ttc. The only concerns tend to arise as women who are near their due dates opt to fly out of town only to find themselves going into Labor in an unfamiliar city!
