I am 41 and have been trying for a year now. I will be starting clomid next month. My dr suggested that I start on this after my periods. Anyone who has succeccfully used clomid? I would love to know more about this before I start using it.

I have 2 children thanks to clomid. Just curious why your dr is taking this route with you? There should be a medical reason to use it. In my case, I do not ovulate naturally so clomid was necessary. Good luck to you.

I have been trying for a year now and dr. suggested this route. She said this will boost ovulation because at my age eggs need some boosting. Not much explanation was given. I think she is trying to rush the ovulation process so that I can conceive quickly.

Hi - I am 41 and ttc my first child. I've had 2 unsuccessful IUI's with clomid and will my third go-around in about 10 days. Any suggestions or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

Early did you start the Clomid this cycle? I just finished my last pill this morning on my first cycle.

Hi early. I'm right behind you at 39. We've been ttc nearly threeyears... As I understand it, before doc gives you clomid, they should at a minimum evaluate your hormones and dh's sperm.... What has doc checked? Did they do a us to check your ovaries or lining? Any bloodwork? Do you know if your tubes are open, did they do an hsg? All the eggs you can make won't matter if the swimmers aren't up to meeting them, so I'd at least want a a s____n a___lysis before taking it if it were me. I've gotten some results, and of all things am expecting the rest on valentines day. What a way to ruin a holiday...

OMG kimhron, I'm so sorry. Mine didn't stick either, and it was so... there just aren't words. Have you visited the clean slate thread in the mc and loss forum? There are a lot of us who've been where you are, and that's where they're hanging out. I'm not there lately because it's a bit too hard to be cheerful watching all of the bfp's from the gals who were trying with me last year.... and not getting one. I'm delighted for them, but I feel envy and hopelessness creeping in when I read those, so I'm sticking to the trying type threads for the time being.

Hello sososleepy, yes, I was in the clean slate thread but I think I feel the way you do. I do check the mc chapter frequently. Before I found out we got pregnant on our own, we did all of the tests at a fertility doctor and were going to go the fertility route but figured we would try on our own since all tests were good. Its been 2wks and I couldnt miscarry on my own, just bad cramping and little blood. I hoping once the d&c is done I can get out of my depression and move on. Thanks for replying it always helps.

Hi early40, I also am 41, and would LOVE another baby! I'm not sure whether I am still REALLY fertile, but I did have babies at 37, 39 & 40. I do wish you well, whatever you decide to do..... and perhaps we'll get pregnant around the same time (smile). Take care, and do give us updates!!

It's been long time since we communicated. Just to let you know that I am still loooking forward to having a baby. I have not started on clomid yet. I was out of town and missed my appointment. I will see my dr. after my MC that is between 20 and 23 march. I wish you all good luck and hope we conceive before the end of the year. Baby dust to all

Hi all - Thought I will join in. I just mc last week and recuperating. Just a few more pangs and mini-pains and a final check up next week. Hope that goes well. We plan to ttc again after 3 or 4 cycles to give my body a good rest and recovery. It seems like a long time to wait. But I think it will go fast - with all the fert spec testing, understanding results, researching whatever they suggest, etc. My fert spec wants me to IVF but does not believe in prog. supplements - I have to yet ask why. Oh, I remember why - He says that if my prog was low, I would have mc spontaneously. However, in my case, both my mc were lack of baby's growth and I mc a few weeks later. Hope he's right about that since I hear of so many success stories with prog supplements. Anyway, based on results, we will decide if we want to ttc naturally or go the IVF route (yuck!)... But if we have to I don't mind in the end the age ticking sound is getting so loud sometimes it hurts!! Glad so many of us are in the same boat ttc and really wanting a precious one in our arms soon. Baby dust to all... I am really nervous to get the results - not because something may be wrong - but because if all is right --- then what is there to "fix"?????? :) So, those are my silly thoughts. Thanks for listening.

Bumblebee, I am glad I am there is somebody I can vent to. I am looking forward to taking clomid. I am praying to start my MC at least on 20 because it is easter long weekend and my dr will not be there. That might just delay me for the next month again. Anyway I am positive and know that patience pays. Baby dust to you all. Thank you for listening too.

I am glad to be back. I took my first cycle of clomid on 20 - 24. I am excited and hope to conceive during this first try. Carly 67 any good news? What side effects did you have after the first clomid cycle? I am experienceing nothing so far. Maybe it is too early to start looking for changes. My Dr suggested that I take clomid for 5 days from my first day of my MC. I just did. I am now checking my ovulation calendar and will be fertile on 1 April to 5. Good gluck to all.
