Help! Baby Gender Mentor blood test said girl - 99.9% guaranteed - my ultrasound said boy, and I clearly saw the little boy's "private" part - and it was NOT the cord! I called the DNA lab, they stand by their results, but I know what I saw! Now what - my insurance only gives ONE ultrasound! Anyone have experience with this?

How far along are you and what did the tech say - did they see the part too?

A girls private parts can often be swollen so much that they can look like a boys private parts.

I am 19 weeks, and the tech told me after ten years of doing this, he was positive it was a boy. Maidencanada, if the girl's part is swollen, would that make it stick out, though? Because believe me, that part STUCK OUT - I saw it from different angles even!

I don't know anyone who has actually gone through this. I understand that if they see boy parts it is a pretty good for sure. Sometimes a US can miss things though, and I have heard that there have been errors in pronouncing a girl. If you are not sure your first was that accurate, check again on your next US.

I did not ask the s_x of my baby but when my daughter was born she was so swollen that she looked grotesque. Mind you that went away within a couple of days. The doctor told me that sometimes this happens. I don't know how it would look on an ultrasound unfortunately. Perhaps....this baby just wants you to be surprised and so is keeping you guessing. :)

I had a friend that was told she was having a boy after her US and so got all "boy stuff". Not only did she have a girl but she was so big the newborn boy clothes didn't even fit and she had to jump up to 3-6 month clothes.

OK...heres something that may help...and i would CERTAINLY go with the US results. i found this info on the better business bereau website:
"The Bureau has requested basic information from this company. The Bureau has not received a response. Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to 9 unanswered complaints, 3 unresolved complaints, a pattern of complaints and its failure to substantiate or modify advertising claims.
Based on BBB files, Acu-Gen Biolab, Inc. has a pattern of complaints concerning advertising issues. Consumers state that the company promises a 99.9% accurate test result for the gender of their unborn child or a 200% guaranteed refund. Consumers state that the test result is often inaccurate. Consumers state that when they contact the company for a 200% refund, they are told they have to provide the company with a birth certificate for the child and a valid registration number from the Baby Gender Monitor test. Consumers state that after providing the company with this information, the company still does not provide the consumer with the guaranteed refund. Consumers state they are looking to be refunded the 200% as promised by the company.
On 03/13/06 the Better Business Bureau wrote to Acu-Gen Biolab, Inc. and asked them to substantiate the following claims made on the company's website: We Guarantee that all test results will be absolutely 99.9% accurate, explanation of the company's 200% guarantee, Unsurpa__sed Accuracy, Unrivaled Earliness, Uncompromised Promptness, Undoubted Privacy and Totally Safe. As of 03/28/06 the company has not responded to the Better Business Bureau's request for substantiation or modification of the questioned advertising claims"
hope this helps...leslie
