SANN - September 30

Hello everyone : ) COL - I must have missed your post : ( I didn't realised till Val mentioned it. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY TO YOU : ) Yep COL !!!! We saw the feal pole at 6 weeks plus minus 2 days, got a picture of the u/s too but baby was measuring really small. I had an u/s this past Monday ... we could baby's hands and legs got a picture of that too in fact it looked as if baby was posing for us, my Ob/gynae called it the "teddy bear" pose ... really cute : ) : ) : ) How are feeling? RE : Midwife or OB ??? (which I had missed ... sorry) I go with Ob/gynae since we're Over35 (especially for those of us pregnant with #1 or have had a mc before) and my Tcm physician said to be on the safe side Ob/gynae would be a better choice. Val - Great ... you saw a heartbeat : ) did you get a picture of the u/s??? I was nauseous like you at week 6 then I started to throw up in the evenings at week 7/8 ... I couldn't eat much too. I still feel a little nauseous from time to time. Hope you feel better : ) Tracy - Thanks! Hope you feel better .... bedrest is no fun : ( I've been on bedrest for the past fwe weeks. Don't worry .... everything will be fine, I survived and so will you : ) Anyway, I'm still on progestrone too just like you. How's your sinus? My nose gets really "stiff" (kind of like sinus) at night and it's hard to breath. Hi Tammy - Sorry to hear that you have some complications. I've heard of prometriun but I don't know anything about lupus too : ( Stay positive : ) Hopeful - I do ok today but still feeling tired though. How was your day? QUESTION FOR EVERYONE - Has anyone of you gone off your favourite foods? Have a great weekend : )

Hopeful and excited - September 30

Hi there Sann. I'm answering your post from the other thread here too - hope you don't mind. Re. weight gain. I haven't a clue. I'm really not a "going on the scales" type person as I'm overweight anyway and have always felt better just trying to watch what I eat rather than weighing myself. I'm hoping that the doctors will keep a check on it for me ??? I'm also not as hungry now but I do still get the pangs which need to be fed or I feel uncomfortable (Having one just now so better get something soon!! LO!) Not sure about whether my tummy is showing as my tummy is always a little round. However, even though I've been keeping the swimming going (which usually flattens it out) it's still a little "poochy". My b___bs come and go but are more painful at night now and have definitely got bigger and darker with some evidence of more veins and bumps!! The sleeping issue is still very much present, coupled with having to pee but at least last night wasn't so bad so maybe that's improving too? My next ultrasound is on Thursday at my doctor (who is a Ob/Gyn and who I'll stay with until I get to the hospital) - I always get a picture so I hope I get the "teddy bear" pose too as so far we haven't been able to point out arms or legs or anything and I know that would make it extra 'real' for me! LOL! Re. my favourite foods - nope, I haven't really gone off anything but I definitely don't feel like cooking like I used to so my eating habits have become very bland. Anyone else with news/updates/symptoms or details. All info is defintiely good to read. Speak soon!

COL - September 30

Hello ladies, I just realized, I can’t keep up when lots of people posting, I get confused where to start : ) : ) although I am a mult_tasker. I will try anyway. Sann, thank you so much for the birthday and anniversary wishing, the pregnancy was the best gift I ever dreamed of. I am so glad you are doing well, I imagine how amazing seeing your baby posing : ) : ). I am really happy for you. VAL, thanks for you too for wishing me the happy birthday and anniversary, and your news are really good, you should not be worried, as Hopeful said, when ever you have any concerns, just bug you care provider, cant wait to heat about your next u/s. I wish we have the choice here to post pictures of that u/s, that would have been cool, right? My dear Hopeful, regards my recipe I was teasing you, I know you were not making fun of it, and even if you are, I will never feel offended, I myself when someone gave to me I was like OUH , how can you drink such a thick combination, but I was desperate , I did , and it worked : ) : ) so don’t worry!!! Tammy, same here , I don’t know what LUPUS is, and regards the people around you, don’t think about it, as long your husband is supportive and being great, good luck with your pregnancy. Tracy, hope you are feeling better today, and by the way, my ND asked me to use castor oil to improve the progesterone level, good luck. Now, the difference between obstetrician and midwife, here in Ontario, we get to chose either or, the difference is, with midwife, you get all the personal attention, and you are dealing with the same person all the times, and she is the one who takes cre of you labor, but as for the obstetrician, you are a__signed one, but my understanding is when you are submitted to the hospital, who ever there will take care of you, it does not have to be the one you have been seeing all along. Away from that, girls who work with me had good experiences with midwife and not so good one with others. With midwife, they try hard to get you to natural labor, as for the doctors, they want to save time, so they send you to C-section. All of this info, from people feed back and experience, I am not sure if there is anything else I am missing. I will keep you posted. Oh my god, that is a long post. You asked for it : ) : )

Tracy88 - September 30

Wow, not to be too blunt but, dinner came up with a vengeance last night. My advice, don't eat anything with grease for dinner!!!!! Somebody said something about eating more bland now.......I have been, but was craving a BLT, and apparently the bacon was too much for my stomach. Regarding a midwife or OB.......I have no choice since they are probably going to do a c-section since I have twins in there. I do, however, agree with whomever said an OB due to our age and such. I also don't know much about the differences between the two though. Val I am so glad your U/S went well. I was so scared I was going to go into this last one and hear one of my babies was gone or there was no heartbeat. Now I'm nervous about the next one, so I think it will never end until we feel big and movement each day as rea__surance. Somebody asked if anyone is on Prometrium...............I am! Twice a day. I reordered the v____al suppositories as well because I think they are better absorbed by my body. Ever since I stopped the suppositories my levels have dropped. Plus I read a whole lot about the different forms of progesterone, and it seems suppositories are better absorbed in general. I should be getting them today. Bedrest is going OK. I am so sick of the couch, so I will probably head to the mall for a light stroll this afternoon. I have been craving Chik-fil-A so I want that for lunch. OK, the FedEx guy just showed up with the suppositories and he was HOT. I on the other hand am greasy and haggard looking. How embarra__sing! Anyway, Sann, you said your sinuses get stifff and stuffy. That is exactly what i am feeling. Since starting the antibiotics the pressure has been broken up in the middle of my head, but I still feel the same in every other aspect. I can handle just about anything but the pain, which is gone thankfully. Well, I will check on you ladies later. I am going to lay back down. This is one of those mornings on which I woke up tired.

banditbabes - September 30

Hi everyone 'it sounds like most of you in u.s.a. I am in England lancashire had a few problems with my PCso been unable to reply!! I am fine sickness & nausea quite bad in an evening feel great in a morning !!! But I have been reading some of you have insomnia ME TOO!!!!! Had it bad when I was pregnant before but only after 30 weeks not at the begining !!!!!! Hope it wears off soon...... I am an Holistic Therapist doing various forms of ma__sage Aromatherapy reflexology etc.... and volunteer at our local clinic for our pregnant ladies in the area a few of us and a couple of midwives run a pamper evening once a month and its free everyone gets therapies including reiki make overs manicures its all good fun. I wil keep doing my bit as they say here till I am too big then I can go as a client get pampered!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have anything like that were you live ????? regards Janice xxxxxx

Val - October 1

JANICE, your job sounds really interesting! We do have a lot of "alternative" therapies here in Oregon - I'm seeing a naturopath for acupuncture and a hypnotherapist. How many weeks along are you now? HOPEFUL, I know what you mean about having to pee at night! I used to sleep straight through the night, and now I wake up twice to pee! Last night I couldn't fall back to sleep for a while, and dh was up for a while too...kind of funny. TRACY, how are you feeling today? That's no fun about dinner. I haven't puked yet, but have been increasingly nauseous the past couple of days. I really don't mind though as I'll take it as a sign that things are going well! As far as the polls going on (re: prometrium, and ob vs midwife), I'm on prometrium 600 mg/day (I take 200mg 3x/day). And I'll definitely use an OB - I'm just trying to decide if I'll go back to the same one I when I was pg last year, or to another dr in the same hospital. The other dr has a midwife as part of his practice which I like. I did like the first ob, but she has been very close-minded about working with my naturopath. My ND wanted to check my progesterone several months earlier but I didn't do it because the "western" drs didn't seem to think it was necessary. Oh, and I probably will have a doula as well. The mom of one of my former students is a doula, and we had made a deal last year that she would work with me in exchange for music lessons. Hope everyone is having a good weekend... I'm cleaning house today and probably sitting around and reading a bunch. Yay! Cheers, all...

lovemy3 - October 1

Just me peeking in...seeing how you all are..should KD and I just move over here and it'll save you double posting? And maybe bring us baby vibes-lol. XOXO

Hopeful and excited - October 2

Hi there lovemy3. Great idea to suggest coming over here. It certainly would save the double posting but then I'm a chatter box (and type like I speak!! LOL!) so I don't really have problem with having stuff to say. In any case, I for one would be really pleased if you came to this thread. You and KD are MORE than welcome. Speak to you soon. How is everyone today. Any news? Not much from me (as usual) except to say I think the insomnia has got slightly better - last night I managed to sleep 3 hours at a time which is a great improvement!! Let's hope it lasts. Other than that - just waiting patiently (honestly!!! - I mean I've still got some hair left to tear out !!! LOL!!!) for my next appointment which is on Thursday. Roll on!!!!!

COL - October 2

Hello ladies, I hope all of you are doing well. lovemy3, I would love to see you and KD in here that makes it easy to post in one place. Hopeful, thanks for asking about me in the pep smear thread, I am doing well thank you, I feel nothing so far, other than tender b___sts, I think it too early for me to feel anything else. Today I am 5 weeks. I hope it will be a smooth sail for me, loool . How everybody is is doing? Oh by the way about the ultrasound and seeing the sac, I don’t think this is something they do here in Canada, so I will not have news about it like you ladies, I asked friends of mine who are pregnant, and they said no they did not have that, the first ultra sound you get is at week 9. will see, and I will keep you posted. TTYL

lovemy3 - October 2

Hi all. COL...I am in Canada as well. In Ontario you have an u/s at 8 weeks, then 12 weeks for the NT scan, then at 16 weeks you take your maternal serum screen, then 20 weeks is a very in depth Level 2 screen and then it is according to what you need. For me I had a u/s done by my fetal medicine dr 1 tuesday each month. Sounds like you all are well. I will let KD know we're all over here. I just thought it wouild be easier for you all and maybe too I might know some answers to any questions, so happy for you guys! (girls-lol) XOXO

COL - October 2

Lovemy3, thank you so much for the info, I really appreciate it. Having you here is bless, I am sure you have all the answers to all the questions I have. And trust me they are a lot, I am so clueless when it comes to this topic. I hope you will be pregnant soon, and we can exchange info, hmmmmm in another thought, I don’t think you can get anything from me, looooooooooooool. Thanks again.

lovemy3 - October 2

col... You are an incredible wealth of encouragement and info, especially about the ttc'ing. I knew absolutely nothing about ttc until meeting you all, no clue. had babies and was lucky enough to concieve them. It'll be great hearing everybodies story and journey. Hopefully I will go one more time around the baby block, but if not I will have to accept it and move on. ttyl XOXO
