I'm getting some sleep too, thank goodness. Liam feeds at 10pm, 3am and 6-30am. I just hope it continues, it means I'm only waking once per night. He's also gaining lots of weight, at 5 weeks he was 12lb and 22 inches, so quite a big boy. Good luck everyone.

Miraclebaby, you've had a rough trot, but it's nice to hear that you're almost healed now. I love the name Victoria - you must have been so worried when she was not well, it's a horrible feeling seeing your little one like that. After all that you've been through I feel terrible complaining that I'm soooooo tired at the moment. Other than that, everythings rocking along nicely. How's everyone else?

Miracle Baby - I like the name Victoria, too! IT is such a feminine / romantic name! Sonya is now 9 pounds and the nursing has gotten a little easier, but I often wish that she was bottle fed, too. It is hard being the only one able to feed her. She has a bad case of heat rash on her forehead -- but other than that, she is doing well. I am almost all healed now... and feeling more human each day. Been trying to lose some weight - slowly. Are any of you closer to pre-pregnancy weight yet? I have about 10 more to lose yet! Take care everyone. Keep in touch!

Hi Ladies! Miraclebaby glad to see you are back...I understand what you are going through since Maddie had to spend a few days in the hospital with jaundice. It is very difficult to see your little one not feeling well and there isn't anything you can do except be there for her. I'm glad to hear all is well now and hope it continues that way for you. Kathy: Liam sounds like a chunck! 12lbs at 5 weeks...I doubt little Madeline has made it to that weight yet and she's 3 months. Happy Me: I know EXACTLY what you mean about being the only one able to feed your little one. We are getting ready to try our 4th bottle/nipple design to see if Maddie will take it! So far we haven't had any luck with getting her to take a bottle...it would be nice if someone else was able to feed her once in a while so I could sleep for about 8 hours straight. I'm hoping the Dr. Brown bottle/nipple will work this time. If not, I'm hoping she will sleep for longer periods at night when she starts on some solid foods (hopefully after her next appt. in the first week of Oct).

Toni, he is a bit chunky lol. I have an appt with the clinic next Monday to have his weighed and measured again. My b___sts don't feel as full now, but he still seems to be getting enough - most feeds he doesn't even want the second side. Maybe the supply and demand thing has worked itself out. His sleeps are all over the place again, last night he slept seven hours in one stretch, but it started at about 7-30 and I didn't go to bed until 10, so I'm not making the most of it. Someone told me it's important that they have their 10 o'clock feed. Maybe if I wake him for a feed at 10 he will sleep until 5???? Just imagine, 7 hours sleep! Luxury.

I hope that everyone is doing well. Sonya is gaining weight and I am slowly losing it... and I mean SLOWLY. She is still b___stfeeding and she is sleeping for three hour stretches at a time right now! much better than the 2 hour ones of a few days ago. I am almost all healed now and tired, tired, tired. Keep in touch and remember --- WE DID IT!

Miraclebaby: Which bottles are considered "vented"? The Dr. Brown one semi-worked, but not too well. I finally found a pacifier that Maddie will take...she has been trying to chew on our fingers and drooling everywhere. I've been told that she might be trying to cut a tooth, but I think she is still too young for that. Happy Me: Maddie is almost 4 months old and STILL eating every three hours (ever once in a while she might go 5). The biggest problem I'm having now is that she rolls over on her tummy when I put her in the crib. I worry so much about SIDS that I find myself staying up half the night to check on her - especially since she won't sleep on her back like all the liturature says babies should to prevent SIDS! I would love to get a good nights sleep, but I don't see that happening for a while!

Toni1 - I know what you mean about worrying about SIDS. My older daughter always turned over -- but, our pediatrician said that if they were able to turn themselves over, they can turn themselves back over (to their back) if they have trouble breathing. Though, it did not make it easier to sleep, it eased my mind a tiny bit. Sonya is now lifting her head up and starting to coo a ton! She loves to be held. I am healed now! Ready to try again for another. (not really... at least not yet.) Take care!

How are you all? It's busy busy here, Liam is 11 weeks now and doing really well, but the older two have been a bit off colour with a gastro bug, so I've been on my toes. Liam sleeps well at night, about 8 hours in the first stretch then a feed at about 3am then another 3 hours then another feed. If he keeps that up I will be a very happy mum - if I get enough sleep I can handle anything during the day, but if I'm sleep deprived it all goes to hell. Happy Me, are you really going to try again soon?

Hey Kathy...good to hear things are well with you (despite the gastro bug). Just when I think Madeline is going to sleep through the night, she proves me wrong and wakes up every three hours. We'll be starting some solids into her diet the week after next so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I got all excited this past week when she picked up a toy by herself and sat up (albiet briefly) on her own. She seems to be in a hurry to do things on her own now and has been practicing the standing up an awful lot lately. I don't know if I'm ready for her to be mobile, but I guess I'd better get ready quick! lol How is everyone else doing?

It is great to hear all the progress from everyone! Sonya is 9 weeks now and is staying awake more and more each day. I am still nursing her and she eats about every three hours. I found that the Platex bottles and nipples (drop ins) are the best for us. It acts more like my b___st than any of the others I have tried (Advent, Gerber, First Years, etc.) All the other nipples pour out too quickly and Sonya chokes. As for me, I am all healed now. Keep in touch everyone!

Hi all, hope you and your little ones are all well. We are rocking along, Liam now only sleeps four hours at a time at night, so once again I am tired all the time. He also wakes at 2am and starts laughing - I don't know what that is all about, but it is lovely to hear : ) How is everyone else?

Hi Ladies!! I'm sure if anyone is still checking the boards, but I hope so. I'm one worn out mom! Madeline is still getting up every three to four hours and she's now 5 months old. She is eating 2 jars of baby food a day but it seems her appet_te has only increased. I wonder how long this getting up throughout the night to nurse lasts? She also seems to be attached to me at night when it's time to go to bed and will scream at the top of her lungs if anyone else tries to hold her until after she falls asleep. Does anyone have any advise on how to get her to go to sleep by herself and sleep through the night?

Hi Toni1, I made the same mistake with my first one - she was 5 months old, I was still nursing her a couple of times at night. Didn't know better! With my son, 18 months later, I co-slept the first month, put him in a ba__sinet for the second month (2 feedings a noght), put him in his crib the 3rd month. No getting up for at least 6 hours (12-6). The 4th and 5th months - he slept 7-8 hours. Yes, with my daughter I had to finally apply tough love and let her cry at night. She figured it out eventually. But feeding them as if they are still newborns wears you out, and is not necessary.
