I pa__sed on the amnio and quad screen for this very reason. I think there are so many false positives that the more advanced we get in this the worse off and more cause for worry we have. I'm playing it the old fashioned way praying for a healthy baby and waiting til it comes. Just our feelings

We also had a positive nuchal screening and there was a chance that our son would have downs. Amnio wasn't really an option for me as I was pregnant with multiples and there was a chance that I could lose the entire pregnancy because of the amnio. Didn't want to take that chance and now my son is a healthy 2 year old with nothing wrong with me. Remember the nuchal screening just tests for markers, there is no gaurantee that he/she will or won't have it. It's just a screening.

Crystal, I hope your amnio went ok and that you are resting for the next day or 2. We decided to have one and it was of course not fun. It didn't hurt too much after the needle went in but it was scary to know where the needle actually was. I was told to take it easy for a couple of days and I did. Two days later I had a little spotting and was scared but it was nothing to worry about and all is fine now, as I am 29.2 weeks and he's going to play soccer for the Olympics, I swear. Amnio's are scary and not for everyone, but if you do have one and the results come back normal, which most do, it can relieve a lot of worries for the rest of the pregnancy.

Well ladies first let me thank you for all the prays and wishes because God has answered my prayers. After talking with the doctor he felt that the results were strictly based on my age alone and the ultrasound proved that my baby is growing fine and all the organs are working properly. He told me Iif I felt that I still wanted to go on with the amino then he would do it. I was also shocked to know that since my I have RH- neg blood that I would also need Rhogam shot right afte the amino and I would have to take it I really am glad that he rea__sured me that everything is fine and the medical field is too quick to give amnios so please weigh all your options before agreeing to the amino. I'm glad I listened to my heart (my husband) he made me feel that I'm special even if I decided to take the amino. I did take the triple screen also and next month I get another ultrasound to see what the s_x is ;)
