Hello Sylvie28 I am 39 due Oct. 20th I will be 40 2 months before my due date. We have one child 16 yrs old. I have had 3 ultra sounds and heard the babys heart beat very exciting. April 4 have we have an appointment for 1st trimester screening so I'm very very worried about the results. I would love to keep up with you guys on your progress and share mine.

I'm due Oct. 5th and am excited to see other moms due around the same time. I'm 38 and this is my first pregnancy. I'd love to share stories and receive advice from some of you who have been mothers before. I know little about infants or pregnancy, so I'm open to any and all info you have.... We got our HT and bloodwork back from our 1st tri screening and it came back w/ 1/1200 for ds and 1/2200 for Tri 18 so our OB suggested we pa__s on the amnio and just continue with the level 2 ultrasound do you think this is a good way to go. i want to feel hopeful that everything is fine but i'm still very cautious about it all. we will love the baby regardless i just need know what i'm facing before it happens.

Wow Ellie! Congrats on the results! I can only hope mine come back with such good odds. I have an OB appt on the 20th and my level 2 ultrasound on the 28th. I just got a packet in the mail from the specialist and it's made me a little nervous. I'm so happy for you!

I'm not due in October but got onto this forum by mistake and noticed Ellie's question. Ellie: just wanted to say that the supervising nurse at my Dr.'s office told me that if the odds after first trimester screening AND AFP are BOTH in my favor then maybe I should forgo the amnio. So this seems to jive with what you were told (except that the AFP was suggested in addition to the 1st Trimester Screening.)

Hi. I am 35 years old and 14 weeks pregnant. My due date is 10/15. This is baby #1 for me!

Thank you ThePezChick. Right now everytime we get a some positve news i feel so happy but then of course when the next appointment comes around i brace myself. i really wish i could relax and enjoy this happy unexpected time. Perl thank you for the reply may i ask what is AFP? I had my check up today and heard the baby's heartbeat 157 then the dr suggested we do a blood test next appointment for spina bifida then schedule a level 2 ultrasound and see what those results are. she told me to relax everything is going fine and just take of me. i really love her and blessed to have such a positve dr but of course i still worry.

HI-I am new to this. My birthday is Oct.20 and my baby's due date is Oct. 2. I will be 39 and this is my first. I had a CVS and it was less bothersome than a pap smear. Thanksfully this is one less thing to worry about. Only a million more though :) . I have been lucky, no horrible symptoms except the b___bs are huge! I am hoping the next 5 months go as smoothly.

Hi Sylvie28, Congrats. I'm 38, live in Aust. This is my 4th preg (kids are 16,15 & 10yo). Found out last week that I'm carrying twins. Had no morning sickness at all with any of the others but this time round it is a 24hr a day thing. Getting up at least 4-5 times a night to go to bathroom, I believe it is nature's cruel way of preparing mums for nightly feeds lol. Best wishes to you.
