i am considering doing this saving the cord for any future use for baby. what are your thoughts on this and is anyone considering this

We thought about it, but after many different opinions, we decided against it. My OB Gyn said if you have the money (it will cost a lot over the years) and your hospital will allow it to be taken (mine did, but some do not due to liability), she would. My niece, who is a genetic counselor, said that if the baby is born with a genetic problem, it will still be in the cord and will not worth anything. It is a tough decision. I would research it and see if it fits into your idea of what you want to do. Good luck!
