Do You Always Ovulate

ALISON - May 10

I am 43 and had my 3rd miscarrage on the 27th of March and exactly 28 days later had my first period. thing is I have been testing since day 11 to see if I am ovulating and I am now on day 15 and still haven't ovulated. I am begining to wonder if I ovulated early or is it possible not to ovulate ??????? I have been using the advanced LH ovulation strips

Alison - Hopefully someone will come on and let you know because I need to know too! I am 35 and had my first miscarriage yesterday. I've had irregular periods my whole life and for a brief time used ovulation tests (for 2 months) to see when I ovulated - and the tests always came back negative.

yes, Alison it is very possible to have a period and not ovulate. Actually it is quite common and many women (young women too) can have a cycle or two a year where they do not ovulate. A great book to read is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". I have read it a couple of times and used it as a source of reference when I was ttc. I am 39 and after a year of ttc with no luck, I read this book and learned how ignorant I was of my own body and began learning how to read my fertiltiy signs and within 2-3 months I fell pregnant and today I am almost 19weeks. A little more info than you asked but I had to share this great book! (It also has a great section about how women can have periods without ovulating and what you can do about it!)

Have you talked to your Dr about PCOS? Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Look it up and see if you have any of the symptoms and check with your Dr.
