So, I am 35 and in January for my due date I will be 36. At our 18 week ulatrasound yesterday the doctor gave us the news of echogenic foci spot on the fetus heart and he said although everything else looks healthy and normal this is a concern and he suggested amnio. I have had 2 miscarriages and this is an iui conception. I am afraid to do the amnio. after the echogenic foci spot was found yesterday, my first trimester combined risk results change from 1 out of 1600 to 1 out of 800. My husband and I are terrified and have such a heavy feeling in our hearts. my ob doctor gave me another news the same day and that was my AFP results and it was 1 out of 270 for DS. Apparently my HCG levels were higher than normal. Normal being 200 and mine were 220. I have been crying for 2 days and I have such a lump in my throat. Please advise.
