Not yet but I fully expect to be in a few weeks!! This is my 4th child and in every single pregnancy I become anemic by week 20 ! Total bummer - iron tablets are foul and nasty and should be banned!! lol!! They make you constipated, give you gas and come right back up and you can taste them for hours afterwards! But without them I become extremely tired and listless and have no energy to do anything - the baby drains what little I have and when I go into labour , if I lose blood I know it can be dangerous..I always know myself now when the symptoms kick in and tell my m/wife that its time!! I'm trying to eat a lot of high -iron content foods but its never worked yet...Must just be something in me during pregnancy...But its not that bad - you are advised to drink fresh orange juice with your tablet - to help the absorption, and drink lots of fluid and eat lots of high fiber to avoid constipation..In the whole scheme of things - while I don't enjoy it it's become part of pregnancy for me...Have you been gien a course of iron tablets yet?

I was anemic before I got pregnant but had stopped taking iron because I hated the constipation. So when I went for my first blood test my hemoglobin was low and the midwife said to make sure to take iron and eat stuff like spinach. Because I was starting off low I would go lower during the pregnancy and be really dragging my b___t around. So...back on the iron I went. At least it is something that is an easy fix.
I wouldn't fret too much about it, you can really get yourself worked up about anything whilepregnant! just do as your doctor says and all will be fine.
As for the constipation, the midwife said that the stuff from the health food store isn't as harsh. I haven't tried it yet as I still have lots of my old stuff.

I had low iron as well, my doc told me to supplement with Slow Fe, which helps with the constipation.
