Hi ! I had my hair colored at around 10 weeks, before i found out the i was preggo. I agree with D , My gyno said hair coloring in the first tri is a no,no. Btw Dad & Mom have brown hair ....son very blonde.....just i joke...i don't really think it dyed his hair , but he really is blonde ! If you are like me you hate those d__n roots ! My moms generation did everything....smoke , drank. Now we know better . I heard you should stay out of the nail salon too ! well, take care !

My doctor actually told me @ my 10 week check up that it was okay to color my hair. I did end up waiting until 13 weeks just because "other" people told me to wait until the second trimester. I would just wait a few more weeks to be on the safe side or just give your doctor a call. Good luck

I was wondering about hair coloring too. I have read about it and there is no definite proof that hair coloring causes defects, etc... I colored my hair in August and in October and then I found out I was pregnant. I am due April 20, 2006. My dark routes and gray are showing but I am apprehensive about coloring. I have heard that highlighting may be safer and the way to go. I may try this in February or March. I have not made up my mind yet. Even though there is no conclusive evidence it is harmful to my unborn baby, I am still nervous about coloring my hair. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I was told to wait till the 2nd trimester but decided to hold off & let it grow out.

Hi my doc is a high risk dr and said highlighting is the best since the color doesn't get into the scalp but to wait until the 2nd trimester.

i read it was ok, and my color is a "natural" dye (aveda)--says my stylist. i colored my hair with my 1st 3 children and they are all perfectly healthy.
