I'm having my first in October and I'll be 36 by then. I'm really glad we waited until now because we were both able to graduate from college, start 2 businesses, and have 12 years together before bringing kids into our lives. I am kind of freaked out a little because of my age but I really am glad we waited until now. Moe324, 37 isn't old - you'll be fine! : )

thank you it is crazy i am in a good place in life mature we are financially stable then why i'm i more nervous now then when i was a teenage mom i am afraid to tell my kids and family also i hear so much about greater chances of birth problems has this been a concern for anyone

Honestly, I am pretty freaked out about complications during the birth because I've heard the same thing. But I'm almost 28 weeks now and have had absolutely no problems so far (except for the normal discomforts) and my OB doesn't seem too concerned about anything right now either. My guess is that as long as you take good care of yourself (exercise, try to eat well, etc.) then everything should be fine. I just keep telling myself that but I still get scared as October is quickly approaching!

congrats moe!!!!! when i was 16 i got pregnant and had my son at 17. my dad got remarried and had a daughter 3 months after me! he absolutely loed being able to start all over. he tells me all the time about the things he is able to do for his daughter now, that he wasnt able to do for me ( which i know he feels guity about ) because of course he is in a better financial state and he is alot more mature. i just turned 29 and have yet to have anymore. my son will be turning12 in sept and i would love to have at least 2 more. i know exactly what you mean when you say its like your starting from the beginning again. to me, i thik children keep you young. the fact that my son is turning 12 scares the heck out of me! i am really happy for you and wish you nothing but the best!!

Don't feel bad! My only child just turned 21 and I am 28 weeks pg with #2. It's the first with my dh who also has 2 of his own from a previous. Scared? Nah...only about the birth part really:) I was 19 when my girl was born now I am 40. Just ask yourself if this pg is something you truly want.....that's what will make the difference. Thankfully there are still reproductive rights in this country such that you can follow your wishes. Good luck

You sound like my mom and dad. They had me and my brother before they were 20 and my mom got pregnant at 34 and had our little sister at 35. You will be great, trust me. I remember I hated that my mom was pregnant (I was 15/16 at the time) but once I saw my little sister--OHMIGOD, it was one of the best moments of my life. You can do it, I promise. They thought they were crazy, and now we have our little sister (she's 9 now) that I honestly couldn't imagine life without. YOur kids will feel the same way, I promise. And you will too! My mom did say that it was harder (which i'm sure it was) than when she was 20. The labor, the pregnancy, everything. But she turned out to be the most laid back of any of us! Good luck Moe.

Moe I am 36 and due in Dec with #4. My oldest is 18 the others are 16 and 13. I am very nervous as well but very much looking forward to the chance to do this again. My children are so excited they are also so glad to know it's a little brother! They have all offered to help with date nights so DH and I don't lose that. I hope your children are as supposrtive as mine. also I had a quad screen that came back 1 in 41 for birth deffects and my ultra sound came back great he is growing perfectly so don't worry to much about that. They say any of us over 35 are high risk I even started with placenta previa and that is gone as it have moved higher. Congrats and enjoy thye blessing God has given you! I know I will enjoy mine!

Hi Crazy ( Moe324 ), Insane here LOL I am 38, DH is 48, we are on out second child together, after a Tubal Reversal. His girls are 28, 26, 22. My DD is 19 boys are 17, 16. We have a new little one 14 months, and a new baby on the way EDD April 2008. Yes I think we are both nuts LOL But I do know that I have sooooooooooo much more time to enjoy my little one. When I was in my 20's I was worried about my own life, now little Quince is the focus of our life ( well along with 4 grandchildren LOL ) Take a deep breath, it can be done. I won't lie it was easier in my 20's. Kazforrest, every pregnancy and child is different. Have no fear, us mom's usually naturally know what to do. Or our mom's, aunts, sisters, dad's etc...... someone does. Moe324 I had no increase with my last baby, I refused all testing, and my OB agreed, he delivered all of my children, and knew that test results would not change the outcome of that pregnancy for me. He asked me at my 6 weeks checkup after birth, when I was having the next LOL Our other Children just love thier Little Brother, and our Grandchildren think it is awesome to have a younger UNCLE LOL

Thanks. I am getting more scared by the day. Starting a family at 37, am I mad. You guys all seem so together!

alatexan68 - August 15

kazforrest I don't think I am together LOL I am insanely afraid of another miscarriage. I have grandbabies, and starting over for the second time now LOL Hubby gets to draw Social Security on this child for 2 years before he or she is 18 LOL I think we are all insane :-) But as I told my daughter (19), women are waiting till later to start families now. See still thinks I am insane. I do know one thing for sure, when I was in my 20's having babies, I was so involved in my own life, that I missed alot of little things. This time around I don't think I have missed a single thing. It is such a joy to have another round of children at this age. LOL
