just read all your questions and answers, yipeeee women like mo who are over 35 (I'm 36) and trying to get pregnant, and for those of you who are congratulations.....my husband and I have been trting for four months with no luck thus far, so you have all given me hope that I am not too old..In Australia women my age who are pregnant are considered to be having a "gereatric pregnancy", just to make it sound that extra bit special, lol...Good luck to you all Lisa

Congratulations trying3x! I can identify with the boy/girl thing a bit. I'm an aunt of 5 now, all boys. I have no idea what it's be like to get a girl. To me it feels as if children ARE boys, know what I mean?
Jenny, you just go and rock that boat, girl! :-)I really for the life of me can't see the problem with a third child. Hope you get pregnant soon and shock the hell out of your family!
Lisafl, I can't believe they call it a gereatric pregnancy in Australia! You'd think they could have come up with a slightly more elegant name like "mature", "seasoned", ov how about a "venerable pregnancy"?

Hi all. My fiance and I got pregnant in Aug '05 by accident (I didn't think I could get pregnant due to fibroid complications and surgery a few years back). We mc in Oct. (blighted ovum). Set our wedding date for this Nov and talked about trying in Jul/Aug (where I wouldn't be too far along if we got pregnant). Well, surprise - surprise. God had a different plan. We're 4 weeks pregnant! Initial blood work came back good and we're optimistic but waiting for 1st u/s on the 19th. The world is a funny place...when I didn't think I could have children, I was totally OK with that and always clear about adopting (this is my 1st marraige as well) now that I know I can get pregnant, I would really LOVE to have a baby!! At any rate, looking forward to the u/s and in the meantime, just taking things one day at a time. Good luck for those you on the journey. Asking your prayers for a healthy baby!

Good luck Valerie. Yes, it is amazing how trying to conceive, getting pregnant, having a miscarriage, etc...can get ahold of you and not let go!

Hi Babette,
Last April I got married, turned 35 in July and was ttc in August - after trying to count and figure out when I was O, with no luck for 3 months, I tried my friends fertility montior and am now 18 weeks. I was alot like you and heard people "our age" have a harder time, but you know, reading through this forum, its awesome to hear everyone's views and positive outlooks! this is my first pregancy and for sure not my last!

ovulation charts are the best thing in the world I fell pregnant using this the first month with both my pregnancies, unfortunately i lost my little angles at 8 weeks and 10 weeks, will use the chart again when I feel ready I will be 36 next birthday, we are so young still. as long as a woman has periods she can have a baby thats what my gyne told me, its true...... good luck enjoy yourself

Thanks Sammi and Terri!
I'm now on cycle 2 and actually feeling more optimistic about my chances than when we started trying a little more than a month ago.
I used an ovulation test this month too and got a positive on day 12. On day 14 I started spotting so I took that as ovulation bleeding, feeling pretty good about it. I'm on day 21 now, though, and the spotting won't stop. NOT feeling so good about that. Sigh ... I'm just off the pill though so maybe my body needs a little time to adjust.
