Low Hcg And Progestrone Levels

I am 41 expecting my third child, I am 6weeks and 3days, My hcg levels are at 8,100 and my progestrone level is at 10.3. I also have no fetal heartbeat. My Doctor says I will miscarry. I go for another blood test tomorrow. Is there any hope. This baby came to us after the death of my husbands father. I feel it is meant to be. Please help!!

HCG is hard to tell.
mine was 1390 at 5 wks...so 8100 is where mind would most likely be if I make it to 6w3d (i think)
Progesterone is a bit low and can be sipllemented. (perhaps ask Dr for some P4 cream)
Also isn't 6w3d a bit early to detect hb by u/s? Shouldn't you be atleast 7wish?
perhaps he saw something else that would indicate mc is inevitible???
Any way...best of luck to you and I hope your MD is wrong! They are know to be wrong most of the time, I know...I work with them!

Hi Nan, Is that 6 weeks and 3 days since your last period? Also,are your Hcg levels rising? That number 8,100 does not seem too low..however, it would also depend on if they are doubling every 24 hours or so I think that if they are rising that is a better indicator. Are you experiencing any miscarriage signs like cramping or spotting bright red blood? If not I think it is odd that your doctor would even suggest that you would possibly miscarry, other than low progestrone levels..and you can supplement those I think even at this point. Anyway, I would get a second opinion and a second Hcg test also it could possibly be way too early to hear a heartbeat, some women do not hear the first heartbeat until 12 weeks...it is your life and your baby..do what you have to do to get the answers you need..Best of luck! P.S. I too am approximately 6 weeks!
