I am 35 years old and pregnant with my 5th baby, alittle girl. At 21 weeks of pregnancy, the Dr said my placenta was low lying but it would move up and it was nothing to worry about. About 3 weeks later, I had a type 2 ultrasound and it also showed low lying placenta. Now, here I am at 29 weeks and it is marginal placenta previa. I am so very scared of all of this. I have not had any bleeding but I do stay tired alot. The ultrasound tech told me she weighed 3.3 pounds for 29 weeks of gestation and over all, she looked great. I am worried how I will do during surgery. I have heard that I could start hemmoraging with this and I am scared out of my wits. Has anyone ever been through placenta previa before and if you have, can you please let me know what to expect. Thanks for everything!!

Hi Ally - I am 29.5 weeks and also had marginal placenta previa, but it did resolve... I was bleeding steadily, but it did not impact the baby a bit. If you do start bleeding, you'll just have to head in so they can see what's happening..., the docs told me at late pregnancy the marginal previa would not be a risk factor other than c section - baby would be fine. It sounds like you are doing great, and your baby girl is a great weight as well! I am having a girl too... best of luck to you...
