Well, I got ahold of my little sister last night and started crying while I asked her if she would throw me a baby shower if I did all the work to make it happen!!! Can you believe I did that? Anyway, she said NO because she knows that if it were me, I would not allow her to do such a thing, and that they (her, my mom, and my other sister) had planned on throwing me a shower anyway, but had not decided on a date or told me about it yet. I was crying my eyes out and I told her how I felt left out and stupid because my friend had been asking me about going to hers, my SIL is having one this weekend, etc..... and she asked if I really thought they were going to forget about me? I said YES! Anyway, so that is resolved. I feel better now because I feel loved and not stranded. I called and get start physical therapy tomorrow, thank God. I am leaving on Friday afternoon for Cleveland and won't be back until Wednesday. I finally get to experience some cold weather, although I hate to fly when it's snowing, so pray that it snows either before I get there or after I leave. Well, I hate to fly anyway, but do it because I have no other real option of getting to faraway places. Val, I was just reading another post and this girl said she developed a polyp after doing a few cycles of injectables??? Do meds cause them to develop? I thought they just occurred naturally. What the hell do I know though? Anyway, hope you all are well. Much love!

LM3......do you have your questions ready to fire off at the guy???? Good luck man!!!! We want to hear all about it! TTC#3.....my problem was not a short luteal phase, but a short follicular phase. I was ovulating by day 9 or 10 and my eggs just weren't maturing enough. Clomid extended my luteal phase and follicular phase, by like 3 to 5 days, but I still never got PG from it.

Hi everyone! LM3-good luck, I hope you get some good answers! And Tracy-hip, hip hooray for your shower! After everything you've been through for this pg, I'm so glad that you're able to celebrate it with people you love! :) That's more than SIL will have-just remember that! All is pretty good here, mood is definitely getting better. SPD pain is worse though. Seems to get worse everyday. I'm hoping to make it until next week when I see doc to talk to him about it, but I may have to call him before then. It's such a struggle to even walk. baby steps are all I can talk. I'm already waddling and I have over 4 mos. to go! The only remedies I've heard of, and none are guaranteed, are: physical therapy (recommended that it be done in water), a harness around my pelvic area (dh says definitely not that!), pain killers, or bedrest. None sound too appealing to me. It would be hard for me to on bedrest this long, so that's definitely a last resort. So I guess I'm going to look in to p.t. first and go from there. TTC3, sorry to hear about AF, she is so unforgiving! And hope the p.t. hopes your back Tracy, that'll alleviate a lot of stress for you. Hope everyone else is well, busy here at work this week for period end, but I'll be checking in periodically. Hugs to all...

BM5 - Im sorry to hear of your pain.. It doesn't sound pleasant at all! A pelvic brace?? OUCH!
I hope that pt will help you. ... you do have alot of time left & that baby is just going to get bigger & heavier.. hopefully if you find a way to help relieve the pain now, you'll be prepared for the late months in pregnancy.

hi there, Just got home 7 hours later! Anyhow, heres the scoop. Took blood for FSH (on CD7 I might add), LH, TSH, some sugar type test, cholestrol stuff. Thats it. He says although I showing a surge he doesn't think that I am actually releasing mature ones. (that would explain the LONG surges). He also checked my DHEAS as well. 12 yrs ago when I ganied a pile of weight theywent off the charts and my af stopped for 9 months. I was told to lose the wight and they would go back to normal. I lost it and my DHEAS was fine. DHEAS screws up proper ovulation apparently. So he checked. He didn't refer me to a RE and said he felt weight loss leading to proper hormones would correct the problem. He said he was very doubtful that I am in menopause. I found out when I got weighed that I have gained 74 lbs since I had my son. Not good. So that was it. Sounds almost like PCOS to me, what do you all think of that. And having my FSH checked on CD7, how will that affect my numbers? Thanks so much, at least I'm one step in the right direction. maybe.

LM3, this doc sounds very thorough. I am soooo glad you went. I was pretty sure you weren't having issues related to early menopause, but I'm no doctor, so..................Anyway, I also had high DHEAS which surprised my doc since I was so tiny and had no outward signs of that or PCOS. The glucose screen thing he did will help see if you have glucose resistance, and thus PCOS. If so, request Metformin or Glucophage because from what I understand, that helps weight come off and as a result hormones can balance out. Well, I am sooooo proud of you for going despite your reservations. I have physical therapy in the morning, I will check in before I go.

Thanks Tracy, I do feel better. I'm not going to worry about my test results, or at least try not too. I've given my blood and can't change anything now, it is what it is. Good night.

LM3 - I'm glad you went to the dr and that you will hopefully be able to take some positive steps! I don't remember what day FSH is supposed to be tested - is that normally the 21-day test? Or is it on cd 5 or 7? Sorry, it's been less that a year since mine was tested but I don't remember. TRACY, I'm so glad you got peace of mind about the shower thing. I knew your friends and family would come through! I hope the PT helps get you some back relief quickly. TTC#3 - sorry about af showing up. :-( Not much new here, other than regular old pg-complaints - not sleeping well and irregular bms - fun, fun, fun! Mostly I'm feeling pretty good though, so I'm not really complaining. I am bummed that our first hypnobirth cla__s might be rescheduled because of the Superbowl. I was really looking forward to it, and neither dh or I watches football, so I'll bummed not to get to start up Sunday (if the instructor reschedules). Oh well... We're meeting with our doula on Saturday so that will be good. And I'm going to schedule a first visit with a potential pediatrician soon. So much to think about!

LM3 - What are DHEAS? How long are your cycles normally & how do you know you are having long surges... from opks? Like I said I also have gained alot of weight & I'm thinking maybe that might be my problem also. My extra estrogen might be screwing me up. Due to the extra estrogen the lining of my uterus gets real thick, therefore causing af to be extremely bloody & clotty.. sorry tmi! Fun for me.. Sorry for all the questions, just don't know too much about your story yet..
Tracy - what is 2 drugs you mentioned? are they weight lose drugs or for high blood sugar?

Good morning all. TTC3#, My story is that I'm 37 yrs old and have 3 kids, my youngest is 3. I concieved them all first month of trying no problem. had difficult pregnancies with preeclampsia and diabetes(gestational) and had 3 sections. Then we started ttc#4, expecting no problems and it has now been 1 yr. In the meantime I have gained about 74 lbs to be exact since my youngest. About 12 yrds ago, I had a big weight gain as well and stopped my af for 9 months and it showed my DHEAS hormone was elevated. I lost weight and my hormones normalized. DHEAS is a combination of angrogens, male ones, and messes with fertility. So, I finally went to the drs yesterday and he says my weight gain he believes has created this problem. So here referrred me to a dietician for one on one stuff and ran blood work. he tested FSH, LH, TSH and sugar and DHEAS. My cyccles are 28 to 32 days. I get a surge from the LH OPKs 11 days prior to my af. But I have noticed with the OPK's my surge isn't just a quick 1 day like it should be. My surge lasts 3 days, last time 5!! So, my suspicion was that my body kept surging and surging but never really released a mature egg. And thats exactly what he said without me suggesting iyt. High anrogens surpress the actual release. You can surge and surge with a positive OPK and never really ovulate. he is cdertain with weight loss I will go back to being fertikle mrtyle-LOL. BUT the blood tests will confirm it and I have to wait. I thought I was in early menopause, due to hair thinning, light eriods (they last 2 days) and just lots of other symptoms but he says they are also symptoms of elevated androgens. there are numerous articles that say overweightness decreases fertility by messing with ovuloation. So that my story. Hope it helps. Good luck.

Good luck with your weight loss.. how did you lose the weight last time? I'm trying to lose some of my weight also .. watching what i eat, but i know I need to exercise but when do you find the time??
I am active already with my children but I guess that aint enough.
Good thing you do the opks to detect the long surges.. you must have been going thru tons of them!
