May June And Some TTCers Part 24

Val - May 21

hey all, less than 24 hours now... pretty crazy! TRACY, those motorcycles would definitely suck! I love looking at HDs but they are really annoying to listen to. I'm hoping we don't have a similar problem here with log trucks. There are one or jerky drivers who use their jake brakes (air brakes) starting at 5:30 in the morning! Wakes me up almost every time they go by. So, I'm very excited today, but kind of nervous. I just found out that a friend of my sil recently died from a stroke. She was only 35 or so. It wasn't in childbirth or anything (as far as I know), but still very sad and scary. Anyway, on a positive note, we're looking forward to meet our little guy tomorrow. Please keep us in your thoughts... I'll try to post again by Friday... And thanks for everyone's encouragement and support - it means a lot to me! xoxo, V

Val, I am so excited for you! This is a long time in coming!!! Good luck and kiss that little one for all of us! Ugh, I have goosebumps. I haven't had time to go back and read all the posts. Like right now, the baby is finally asleep and I need to go wash all the bottles so I am ready for her next meal. I am working with very few bottles because I am using a very popular brand called Born Free and they are scarce. They are made from a type of material that doesn't leech anything into the milk when heated, like plastic is said to leech toxins when heated which can cause cancer. Anyway, since I don't trust the FDA, I use these bottles just to be safe. Ok have to go again.

Val, Best of luck tomorrow.. you will be fine! Looking forward to your birth story. Hopeful you will find your routine once your Mom is gone. If your baby is anything like me she will help you create your routine. My son stays up late sleeps for about 6 hrs and then is up at 4:00 am ready to play. I have to admit the 4:00am is tough, the one on one time in the morning makes it all worth while. Punkin I guess your next after Val. Sounds like your body is gearing up and your measurements are perfect. Babymakes5, your hubby most love that your s_x life is still active. My DH was happy that s_x can resume that much faster with a c section. Are your kids getting excited as your due date gets closer. Will they be in the room with you? Tracy 88 Good luck with your move, hope you have lots of help! How are you decorating your nursery? Lovemy3 did the color of your incision ever turn grey? Hope spring fever worked this month. Even though I planed to have my tubes tied at the moment I'm feeling a great loss that I won't be having any more kids. My kids are EVERYTHING to me! I guess it will take some time to get used to. We had a great walk to the lake today. Even my oldest son came with us and he brought a friend with him which is pretty impressive since they are both 14. My DH has gone to Florida to meet his Dad, the drive home together every year. His Dad is a snowbird, now that the weather has warmed here he is coming home. Take care

Hi everyone! Good luck tomorrow Val!!!!! Can't wait to hear all the good news! Tracy-motorcycles suck! But I'm glad you guys will be moving soon and it will be so much fun setting up the nursery. do you find you have tons more energy now? That's what I'm hoping for-more energy! I'm so burnt out. Still working another week or two, we'll see what doc says on Thur, I think he's checking me then to see how far I am. Don't worry Hopeful, your not a hypochondriac, it's just now time to take care of you! Hope you find out everything that's wrong and that it's easily fixed so you can get back to your darling dd! LB-it's funny you say that about the s_x life. All of dh's friends keep telling him that their wives always told them they couldn't have s_x so late in pg and he says it's up to the lady and he happens to have a good one-so sweet. I was surprised over the weekend to do a 3 x a day one day. I didn't think I had that in me anymore! But then last night I had some leakage when pa__sing some gas-sorry TMI-and it was slightly tinged pink? So I was a little worried that it was my mucus plug? But I think it was probably just the weekends activity??? I can't remember what the mucus plug looks like or how soon it comes out? I guess doc will find out on Thur. Punkin-you are so lucky to be done with work! I can't wait. I just want to sit home and rest until "the day" but unfortunately I don't know when that day will be and can't afford to stay home now if he indeed waits until due date on 6/19, so until I see doc, I'm stuck working. Anyways time to go home! Hugs to all...

oh yeah - LB - forgot to answer your questions about other kids. Kids are getting very excited, especially dd. I'm a little worried about nursing with the boys around? They are now 16, 15 and 13 so I guess dh and I will have to sit down and discuss with them. When they were all little it wasn't even noticed but now...?? We decided not to have them in the delivery room with us, I don't think I want them to see me like that (screaming and in pain!) but hopefully they'll be able to come up as soon as the birth happens so they can see their little brother right away!

Lovedblessings - May 22

Hi Ladies, Hope everything went well for Val! Babymakes5 Don't worry about nursing around your boys, my son is just about 15 and is very comfortable with it. I just explained that it is very natural and important for his brothers. We have given Jack a bottle a couple of times, my sons lectures me on how it is not best for his brother. It's funny to be lectured by your son. We did my son with us for the birth up until the complications occurred. Wtih my 15 month up he stayed until I was ready to push and came back in right after he was born. I'm sure your kids will be a great help! How are you feeling?

babymakes5 - May 23

Thanks, LB, I hope your right about the b___stfeeding. They're good kids so I'm sure they'll be okay with it knowing it's the best thing for the baby. I can't wait, that was my favorite thing to do, I just loved the way those babies eyes look up at you when feeding them. I'm sure we'll supplement after awhile with a bottle so that the kids and dh can share the joy. I'm feeling okay, tired and wishing I didn't have to be at work, but I'm trying to make it at least through this week here. Still having a lot of strong bh contractions but they slow down at night. Sometimes it feels like he's already on his way out my pelvic region gets so sore during the contractions. I'm anxious to see what the doc says tomorrow. Hope everything went well for Val, can't believe that makes it down to only 2 of us! Maybe? Punkin-are you still around?

Lovedblessings - May 23

Babymakes5, It still is my favourite thing, I love looking in my little boys eyes. Not so little now since his weighing in at 13 pounds. The Braxton hicks at the end of your pregnancy are the worse. You never know if it is the real thing and they can be so painful. Make sure you rest lots. How much time will you be taking off once the baby is born? Let me know what your doctor has to say. Maybe the birth is closer than you think! Take care!

Tracy88 - May 23

Val is doing great. I got an email from her husband. I'll let her be the one to share the details since part of the joy of motherhood is talking about your own kids! Her son is healthy though, and all is well in Oregon!

lovemy3 - May 23

Congrats Val!! Can't wait to hear your story xoxoxo

Lovedblessings - May 25

Hi Ladies, Tracy has your GD settled down since you gave birth? Lovemy3 how is the weight loss coming? Since I gave birth all I seem to be craving is Ice cream... help! Trying to stay motivated, my doctor won't let me run until my incision is closed. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Val, looking forward to hear all about your little boy's birth.

Lovedblessings - May 25

Punkin... did you have your baby?

babymakes5 - May 25

Hi everyone. Tracy, thanks for the update on Val, looking forward to her story. I'm still here, maybe the only one left? We haven't heard from Punkin in awhile? I went to the doc yesterday and I'm 2 cm dilated and have lost my mucus plug so maybe another week or so?? I'm 36 wks and 4 days so he wouldn't stop it now if I went in to labor. Of course everyone here at work keeps hoping that I'll be coming back for at least another week to work! I personally think my temp is trained enough that if I didn't, it would still be fine. They are all just getting worried about being without me I guess. I guess that should make me feel good, but it's kind of annoying. Anyways I'm hoping for a nice relaxing long weekend, I hope everyone else has a great weekend. I'll try to check in from home over the weekend, so Punkin hopefully you can check in soon, and you too Val. Hopeful-is your mom gone? How's everything going? Was your dh able to take time off for awhile too? Lovemy3 I hope all is well with you, we haven't heard from TTC#3 in awhile, how are you doing? Where are you at in your cycles? Tracy-hope dd is doing great and that you're continuing to enjoy motherhood. Let dh help out so you can get some rest too! LB-hope you have a great weekend too! Don't be too hard on yourself about the ice cream, it hasn't been that long yet, it'll happen? Are you still bf? I heard it's easier to loose weight when you bf. I gained 5 lbs. at my last appt in 2 wks. I was amazed. It's only been a pound up or a pound down everytime I've been in for the last couple of mos. And then wham, all of a sudden a 5 lb jump. I was a little bummed about that! I was happy staying right where I was. Oh well, in time...hugs to all, sorry if I missed anyone!

Val - May 26

Hi all... Dalton Alexander was born Tuesday May 22 at 8:47am via c-section and we are so in love with him! He was big - 9lb8oz and 22 inches long, so I'm really glad we did the c-section. We just got out of the hospital last night (Friday night) since we needed some extra time to work on feeding. It's still a bit of a challenge but I think we're getting the hang of it and it's wonderful and very surreal to be home with our baby boy! I'll hopefully have some time in the next couple of days to catch up and share more info. DH's mom is here with us for a couple of weeks which is very wonderful. And we are feeling so happy and blessed... hugs to all... xoxoxoxo V

babymakes5 - May 26

Congrats Val!!! I love his name! I'm glad mom and baby are doing well. Enjoy the help of dh's mom while you can. Looking forward to hearing all the details! I'm trying to take it easy this weekend but getting a little restless- I may have to get out for a bit. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!

Hopeful and excited - May 27

Congratulations Val!! Fantastic news! I'm so pleased for you. Dalton is exactly the same size as my DD was when she was born. She's now (1 month later) over 11 pounds and has gained an inch and a half on her head circ_mference and half an inch in length. Incredible!! Remember to take it easy over the next few weeks and allow your body to recover. Don't try and do too much too soon and let other people do the work - you need to concentrate on the b___stfeeding. ********* Hello everyone else. Goodness, I just don't seem to have time to post anymore. My mum left on Wednesday and so now have a little more time to myself but I try to get things done around the house then. Also I've found that my DD sleeps better when we're out during the day so I've been trying to do something that involves a walk into town whenever I can. That's the reason for not being able to write more. Glad everyone is doing well though. BM5 - it looks like you might be the next on the list. (Punkin's already had her baby I think, so I can't wait to hear from her!) Much much luck to you. Me? Well - I've still got the horrid rash which seems to move around my body! Horrible! It's not really getting any worse but it's really uncomfortable - especially in this hot weather. Dr. says it's not an allergy but hormone related eczema so I'm medicating it with a cream. Hope it works - it's driving me nutty!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get the all clear from the Ob/Gyn to say I can get back into the swimming pool - not only will it cool the rash but I can start getting fit again. Hooray! ********* Well, ladies - I started this post with 2 hands but DD woke up and I'm down to 1 - hard work!! so I think I'll finish now. Big Hugs to all! Lots of love XOXOXOX
