Loved, I'm sorry things did not go super smoothly and stress-free, but it sounds like all is working out and baby and mom are doing well. I'm happy for you that the baby is here and you both are ok. I have been thinking about you! Write when you can. Take good care of yourself and CONGRATS!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy for you!

hi all... LB, congrats on the arrival of your little one! Sorry to hear it was rough, but I'm glad to hear from you. SANN, good to hear from you also! I can't believe you are so close to your due date... seems like just a couple of months back we were anguishing over not being able to get pg! LM3, I'm so sorry about AF showing up again. I keep sending positive thoughts your way. How is the weight loss going? PUNKIN, all the GD testing sounds stressful... hope you are doing ok... TRACY, I have been craving sodas! Trying not to have more than a few sips (I figure I don't need the extra sugar/calories) but every dh gets one out of the fridge, I start salivating! Hope you had a good night's sleep. I'm happy to have a day off today. Working on making lists (what to bring to the hospital, what we still need to buy and when I'll go shopping, etc.) Also going to type up our birth plan today. Might have to make a scarecrow today as well... a raven seems to be eating all our chickens' eggs...very annoying. We're down to our last 2 eggs and I hate the thought of having to buy them in the store. Well, hope everyone has a nice Easter Sunday... :-)

loved....glad you and your baby boy are doing OK now....it may not have went the way you planned but he is here now and Ok and that is all that matters...congratulations........it is getting closer for the rest of us too.........tracy in your info you were given on GD what does it say about rice and pasta??? i thought it was a NO-NO due to the carbs and DH has a diabetic book (he is borderline) and it says no but i have some papers with sample diets and such for pregnancy and GD and it says it is OK just in moderation...........just wondering......val glad to hear from you and yes it is stressful but got to be done for Josh to be healthy......that is what i keep telling my self...... happy easter to all and hope you got lots of choclate from the easter bunny except tracy and i hope yours was sugar free!!!! speaking of have you tried the sugar free turtles??they are soooooo good Happy Easter!!

Tracy88 - April 8

I haven't tried the sugar-free turtles, but I had some other sugar free candy (chocolate) and realized that it still had carbs. You can have rice and pasta, you just have to count the amount of carbs in the portion that you eat. I am allowed to have 30 to 45 grams of carbs with lunch and dinner. I am looking at a bag of rice, and I figure if you measure a quarter of a cup dry, then you have met your carb intake for that meal. I ate cake this afternoon and I can tell you it was NOT sugar free. I then proceeded to watch a movie and eat popcorn. I have obviously slacked off due to just wanting some d__n flavor and variety. Anyway, I am going to relax and watch yet another movie. I will TTYL.

Oh, about the sugar free chocolate and it still having carbs......I am only allowed to have 15 grams of carbs in a snack, and each piece of candy had 24 grams even though it was SFree. Hmmmm. Hate that!

punkin01 - April 8

honestly i didnt look at the carbs i wanted choc and hubby had some so i took one......and he only had 2 left after that so i left them alone .....i will have to look at that

I ate two veggie corn dogs last night before bed and my BS this morning is 20 points higher than it should be. I ate sugar and carbs this weekend and didn't care! I am having such a hard time sticking to the repet_tiveness of this diet. I need to eat straight protein before bed, and I am so sick of eggs and the last thing I want is chicken. I've never been one to cook, so it is really hard for me to find new things to eat. Val, hope you get your egg situation handled with that scarecrow. Do they really work? I have been craving sodas too, but that's why I have been resorting to Sprite Zero. I hate to drink diet sodas because I am dead set against the consumption of artificial sweeteners, but I have to have some sweet carbonation right now. I have been drinking club soda with lemon my whole pregnancy, but soda is what I really crave right now too. That, and cake, chocolate, bread.....everything I cannot have!!!!! I talked to my mom last night and she said, "Your sister told me you went baby shopping the other day, " and I said, "Yep, we have everything we need, we are ready." I wanted her to know that I don't need or want anything from her for this baby. I also went to the doctor this past week and never called her with an update, so I hope she was mildly offended when I filled her in on last weeks info 5 days later. She will learn that if she wants to distance herself from me and this child, then she will feel the distance! Her loss.

We had a chocolate fountain at my baby shower last weekend and dh's mom left the leftover chocolate here... oh my good, it's so good! It's like a 4 lb brick of chocolate. I think I need to stick it in the freezer and try to forget it exists - I really don't want to have a huge weight gain in the last few weeks! 7 weeks to go until the due date today... LM3, do you want to start a new thread, or should someone else do it? It's getting really long to load!

Hopeful and excited - April 9

CONGRATULATIONS to Lovedblessings and her beautiful and healthy baby boy!!!!!!! What's his name? I'm so proud of you and can't wait to hear more news. Hope you're feeling a little more refreshed today and are able to enjoy your new son. Wow - amazing - fantastic - incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Hugs XOXOXOXOX

A chocolate fountain would have just sent me over the edge!!! My SIL is the best because she knows I am allergic to dairy, so she had her friend bake my cake and all types of cookies, dairy free and they were awesome! The downside to that is, she sent me home with the rest of it all so I can eat it once the baby comes. I wrapped it all up really good and froze it. Oh, I can't wait to dig into all that. Plus, they sent me home with all kinds of chocolate bars and such. It's all hidden away in the fridge. I can handle milk in small doses, so I am going to have to control myself with the candy once this pregnancy is over.

Hello all! Hope everyone is feeling fine today. It's a beautiful sunny day again here and so DH and I took advantage of the weather to paint some doors which we had sanded down 4 years ago ready for painting (No that's not a typo - it really was FOUR YEARS ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Luckily we already had the paint and today's warm wind gave us perfect conditions - they're even hanging back on their hinges already. Good stuff, eh? Yesterday was a good day too. It was a lovely Easter Sunday (beginning with the beautiful sound of all the church bells in the area) and then DH and I went out for a light lunch and a walk round a nearby lake. Gorgeous - saw hundreds (and I mean hundreds!!) of frogs and then sat and watched the carp swimming around while we had tea and cake. I ate far too many sweet things yesterday - naughty naughty - but I reckon Easter Day is a good excuse and I'm hoping that the walk and today's activities (washing day aswell as painting day!!) will have burnt off some of the calories!! Other than that, nothing new to report except that I'm definitely feeling the toll of so much weight - it's exhausting having to carry around so much isn't it? I can't wait to be more agile again - I'm not used to this plodding pace. ************** Tracy - sorry to hear the GD diet is so boring. That coupled with the bedrest must be really frustrating. I wish I could cook up some lovely veggie meal and post it to you coz I know it would hit the spot. Val - great to hear you sounding so positive and raring to go with the last preparations. So exciting. Sorry to hear about your egg situation - wish I didn't have to buy my eggs from a store either. Maybe we could come to some sort of arrangement (LOL!) or else, when I finally get moved into our house in the country (probably not for another few years or so as it needs total restoration!) you can give me some tips on self-sufficiency as that is the way DH and I would like to go if at all possible? Sann - thank goodness we've heard from you and that you're well. I think you're "next up" so PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE keep in touch!!! Lovemy3 - sorry to hear about AF. I just wish I could wave a magic wand in your direction - you deserve it so much. Perhaps, as Val suggested, a new thread may give you some luck - it just wouldn't be the same if someone else started it. What do you think? Hope everyone else is fine and that you've had a great Easter weekend. I'll TTYL. Big Hugs XOXOXOXOXOXO

Hi ladies. Sorry to be MIA for so long. Unfortunately I don't have time to respond to everyone. But Loved-I do want to say congrats. Glad everyone is ok now. Looking forward to hearing your full birth story. I have been in and out of ER lately. I guess I need to go back on my bipolar meds. Last 3 wks have not been so good. Very depressed, crying a lot, but biggest thing is breathing. I can't seem to catch my breath. They did some tests to rule out blood clots, which they did rule out. I am on the slight side of being anemic, but that's all they've found, most likely due to poor diet. So my guess is that it's stress related and hopefully some anti-anxiety meds will work. I end up getting very dizzy from short, shallow breaths and haven't been getting much sleep or eating much, so not good for baby, but hopefully he's okay. He's still moving around a lot which is good. Sorry to be a downer, hopefully things will change soon and I'll be cheery again :) hugs to all
