CONGRATULATIONS SANN! Look forward to hearing more about your delivery and how your little girl is doing. Are you getting much sleep these days. Tracy, have you ever tried the cookies and treats that use honey instead of sugar? That way you can avoid the chemicals. It's great you sugar levels are under control. You are very lucky! My son was a night owl when I was pregnant and continues to be. I always find it interesting that for the first few weeks of life babies seem to follow the same pattern as the last few weeks of pregnancy. Punkin, b___st feeding is going really well. Timing can be tough as my 14 month old needs my attention, often I split his feedings into two sessions. I love nursing at night, no fussing with bottles in the middle of the night is a huge bonus. Jackson also has one b___st that he favours alreadys, he latches on better on that side. MY DH love is since these days I put Dolly Parton to shame. lol Val, did you get your co-sleeper yet? Are you feeling the urge to nest at all. Lovemy3, could you tell me how soon after you had your c section you were able to start excercising? Thanks.. If you need a weight loss buddy.. I'm in!!! Bathing suit season is just around the corner. This friday I will start trying my bikini on once a week to help motivate to stay on the right track. It will not be pretty AT ALL. The only place I really wear a bikini is around the house (backyard) or if we are in a FAR off place for a vaction. What a great tool it was for weight loss. It's so hard to get started, once I'm on a roll I find it easier to stay motivated... not there yet! At this point I need to change from pregnancy eating back to healthy life style eating. You think that would be the same. However with a big beach ball hanging in front of me the urge to say what the heck to extra ice cream was so much easier.

I think it's a good idea for you to take the cla__s. I would have, but my doc didn't want me running all over town taking cla__ses when I was supposed to be on bed rest, ya know. Personally, I am going to rent a pump if I need one, but I seriously doubt I will need one since I don't work. Bras will have to wait until I know if my milk will come in since I have not grown substantially at all yet b___b-wise, and my SIL, who has three kids got me the nipple cream, soothies, and disposable bra pads to get me semi-prepared. Other than that, I am going to consult the lactation specialist and nurses in the hospital because I am not going to know my nipple from a hole in the wall when it comes to feeding! I'm going to learn by winging it and hope things work out for the best. Definitely use the cream again that the doc gave you for the infection and try to keep your VJJ nice and dry. I don't have a yeast infection, but I am very itchy and irritated due to peeing all the time and my VJJ being constantly wiped and peed on!!! I had to change my toilet paper and continue to change my panty liners. Keep up with the medication and if it's still bad tomorrow, call the doc.

Good Morning, Tracy sounds like you made some healthier choices at the store. I bet you can't wait until your daughter is born! How long will the GD last after you give birth? My son will nurse of both breaths, the right side just happens to take a little more coordination to get him to latch on successfully. He doesn't take a large amount of the nipple in which can be painful long term. The let down is stronger on his favorite side, which is no big deal since your milk flow adjusts itself within a month. Try not to let the let down discourage you. I know a lot of ladies that tried to nurse but the pain was not something they could deal with. It is very short term, just a few weeks. Once your body adjusts and your milk flow is steady nursing will be much easier. If you supplement with a bottle don't be surprised when your b___st b__w up like balloons. Just use a warm towel to take some pressure off and express your milk. Jackson latched on very well right from the start however he just latched the very tip on the nipple. It felt like I needed the Jaws of Life to get him to release so I could push more of the nipple in his mouth. Even though this is my third child to nurse it still feels like I am about to choke the poor boy. You will be surprised how much they can take in. Some babies will take a bit more work; the nurses are usually very helpful. With my first the nurse without warning just took my b___st out of my shirt and popped it in my little guy’s mouth. Even though that was 14 years ago I still remember the shock of her just taking my b___st out. Ladies if you nurse in public be ware that for some reason there are many people that just love to sneak a peek. Older ladies are the worse! As far as bras and b___st pads I've never been a big fan of the nursing bra. Just slipping my one b___st out to nurse works just fine. The support with most nursing bras is lacking. I have large b___sts so support is most important since the thought of my b___st sagging down to my knees is just so unappealling! The disposable nursing pads can stick to your b___st if you leave them on to long, I love the ones you can wash and reuse. With the last two kids I have used a manual pump, although using your hands can be just as easy! This time I am renting a pump from the hospital. They are great just a bit pricy to rent. Bottom line, what works for me may not for you. It’s all about personal choice and YOUR COMFORT LEVEL. Do what feels good and right for you!

Tracy, you milk takes a few days after the birth to kick in. Your b___st will grow then.

Loved, thanks for all the helpful advice. I can't tell you how important it is to hear stuff from people like you who have done this before and are going through it again. I'm sure just like pregnancy itself, it can be different with each child. You know when the time comes I am going to have more questions so you better not go anywhere!!! Thank you again. It helps a lot. Well, I woke up with the absolute worst stomach ache in the middle of the night. I thought for sure Savannah was going to come last night BUT it was just a stomach ache! I thought I was going to poop, puke, and get my period all at once. After about an hour it went away though and I didn't have another contraction for another hour after that, so......no go. My BHicks seem to really last a long time though. Anyone know what to make of that? They used to last up to five minutes, but now they are more like 10.

hi ladies! LB - thanks for the b___stfeeding tips... it is good to hear from someone who has experience. The bf cla__s I took was actually the best/most helpful of all the cla__ses, but I'm still reading up on it to try to learn more. TRACY, I still don't know if I've been feeling bh contractions... seems kind of odd, but I guess some women just can't tell when they are having them. I hadn't heard about them lasting 10 minutes, but then again it seems like anything can happen. With all the contractions and cramping and such, it really sounds like your body is getting ready... I hope so! PUNKIN, sorry about the infection - hope you got some relief yesterday or called the doctor today. Well, I had a nice day yesterday despite waking up with a horrible headache. I actually felt nauseous from it. Don't know what was up, but after I took a warm shower and a couple of extra strength tylenols, it gradually went away. Then dh and I went into the city to buy the crib mattress and the baby sling, which were the last 2 items on our list. The baby sling is awesome - seems really easy to use and very comfortable for both of us (and hopefully for the baby!) Then we went to a bbq at our friends' house which was really fun. And the weather was gorgeous! Today we're picking up a dresser/changing table that a friend is giving us (we have some wonderfully generous friends!). And unless I change my mind again, today and tomorrow are my last days of work and then I'll be on leave. Hope I don't go stir crazy. But I have a lot of reading I still want to do, plus several crochet projects, and a bit more prep for the baby room, so I think I'll be able to keep busy. And this is the most beautiful time here on the farm (everything is green and lush, birds are singing, my allergies haven't started yet, aahhh....) so I'm looking forward to just sitting outside (on non-rainy days) and just enjoying everything. Wow, I sound all chipper today, huh? Gotta go get in the shower... hope everyone has a good day. HOPEFUL, I hope you are doing ok.... can't wait to hear your story!

Hi everyone. SANN-Congrats!!!! So nice to hear from you, I'm glad that you are both doing well. Looking forward to hearing more details. HOPEFUL? Starting to get a little worried but hoping it's just overwhelming caring for your new lo. Can't wait to hear if its a boy or girl! Tracy-I'm thinking your next! I'm sure you're hoping you are! VAL-sounds like you're getting in to the comfortable waiting game. I also love this spring weather that we get in the north. The sun shining, wind b__wing and trees getting their trees. It's my favorite time of year! Good stuff on the bf LOVED. I bf all 3 of mine, but my oldest wasn't for very long. The 2nd one was for about 8 mos because I was able to do so on my lunch hour. It was so hard to stop. I was lol on your nurse story about grabbing b___b at hospital-the same thing happened to me 16 yrs ago with my 1st! I felt like a little kid while she just so casually yanked it out and put it in ds's mouth-lol. I thinking winging it is just fine-Tracy-I did that my first time too. It's definitely a comfort thing. It got much better with time. It's very sore at first, but like Loved says, it goes away and if you can hang in there it'll get better. My oldest had a hard time latching on, but my 2nd got the hang of it very quickly! I had my baby shower this weekend and I think I'm finally hitting the nesting stage that you all have been through already! It's finally hitting me that I'll be having a baby soon. We got lots of great stuff and I can't wait to put it all together and wash all the little cute clothes. Dh's neice brought us box after box of boys clothes. We have all the way up to 6 mos. summer and winter. We had a co-ed baby shower so that dh could be involved and have his brothers there so it was quite a houseful and I was exhausted when it was over but it was a lot of fun. Most of the guys said they'd never been to a co-ed shower, but I thought it was pretty neat. The ones throwing the party even had womens-mens-and childrens gifts so everybody got to be involved! Yesterday dd had fun helping me go through all the clothes to sort out summer and winter. I think her age (11) is perfect. Any older and she may not want to be bothered, but any younger and she probably wouldn't be much help. She's a great helper and so enthusiastic, I feel very lucky! Other than that everything is great-baby's doing good at appts and I'm getting over strep. I've been eating yogurt to avoid yeast infection-but isn't there something about yogurt that I have to be careful of with pregnancy? Punkin-I hope you get over your infection soon-and I agree with everyone else about dd, do NOT let that woman have your dd when you're in hospital-sounds very creepy. You wouldn't want to regret anything! Always follow your instincts. Tracy-10 min does sound long for bh contractions, how often do you get them? And is your uterus hard and tight the entire 10 min? I think I started that way with my first ds just a couple of days before I had the actual contractions-I remember being confused as to if they were the "real" thing or not. It wasn't until my water broke that I could tell the difference. Good luck-hang in there-it won't be long now! Work is crazy-better go-I probably won't be able to post for most of the week-hugs to everyone-TTC and LM3-tons of baby dust!

BM5.....I get one of those contractions about once every one to two hours, and yes my uterus stays contracted the entire time. I will note the time that the contraction starts, then when the tightening and discomfort start to diminish, will look at the clock again and see that a solid ten minutes has just gone by. My stomach will be rock hard and lumpy from the baby being pushed downward, and I will have menstrual cramps, etc.... Last night I had one while I was laying down and I felt like pushing so I sat up than got up and walked around. That one lasted 9 minutes. BM5....I was 10 when my little sister was born, and I have to agree with you, it is such a great age for your daughter to be while you are about to give birth. I loved taking care of my sister and was definitely a help to my mom. I was excited and in NO way ever jealous of her being around. Val, some women never get BHicks. I didn't get them for the longest time, and then one day, they just started. My SIL never had them and her water broke in week 38. I'm in week 37 and NOTHING is happening!!!!!!! Because of that, I don't know that they indicate labor is near or far. I think they are just teases!!!

Well ladies its finally MAY, just like our post says...time for babies. Congrats Sann!! Good news, I ovulated yesterday and saw the thermal shift etc, but late on cd26, very strange. Temping pointed this out. maybe, its just been timing all along. Watching for your birth stories xoxo

I hope it's just been a timing issue all along! That would actually be awesome wouldn't it? I think part of my problem getting PG was also timing because I was ovulating really early some months and later in others. There were months that I would ovulate before cd10 and it was those months that I don't think the egg had enough time to mature to be properly fertilized. Let's hope this solves your puzzle!

hi ladies! LM3 - I ovulated pretty late until I went on Clomid which regulated my cycle (I o'd on cd19 all 3 months of clomid). I don't think it works for everyone, but it seemed to work for me. Have you been temping all along or did you just start? TRACY how are you feeling today? BM5 - your shower sounds like fun! Glad you got lots of good stuff. And thanks for the bf info. It's funny that you and LB both have stories about the nurses grabbing your bbs... I'm not sure how I'd feel about that! re: yogurt - I haven't heard any cautions about yogurt during pregnancy. It should be really good for restarting the culture in your stomach after taking antibiotics. It's my last day of work - yahoooo! My middle back has been really hurting this week if I'm not sitting in a really upright chair. It's been making me crabby, so I think it's good that I'm not teaching after today. Don't want to start snapping at my poor students (and I was pretty close to it yesterday!) I have to go call my Wednesday students to let them know that I won't be in tomorrow. I prepped them with a__signments last week so they should be fine. I feel a little bad for ending work so early (3.5 weeks before my due date) especially since we could use the money to cover for the rest of my leave, but I'm really looking forward to be able to rest and read and finish up my craft projects (I have a neat idea to make a Dr. Seuss characters mobile... I'm hoping I can pull it off!) ttyl.... V
