I was upset to read a post that asked those under 35 to stay away. I´m 28 and pregnant after undergoing IVF with ICSI. Since my baby was not naturally conceived, I am considered high risk, and I´m facing many of the challenges that all of you are facing because of your age. I feel very comfortable in this forum, and glad that I am able to share my experience of some of the tests that I´ve undergone with those who have not had them yet.
Therefore, I find it very offensive that someone decided to be this forum´s monitor and exclude everyone else, based solely on age.

To Paula - what they mean is THIS category called "Pregnant Over 35." There are so many categories in this entire forum, and not many people seem to be able to find the one they should be posting on. Nothing personal, but it's a little pet peeve of mine, too.

To Lynnstress,
I understand that they mean THIS category, and not the entire website. Nonetheless, I find it offensive to exclude younger women. Nowhere else on this website can I find a place where women talk about the tests that they might undergo because of their age. Even though I´m 28, as I said earlier, my pregnancy was not spontaneous, and therefore I have to face some tests that a regular 28 year old with a natural pregnancy would not.
Until a new category t_tled "a__sisted Reproduction Pregnancies" is created, then I will continue to visit THIS category, as it is the closest to my situation.

There are so many many places to post and categories off all kinds for all ages. Many are for 20's, 30' , teens and even groups by country/state. There's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, we want to be grouped by age. Think of it kind of like in school....as an example...you can have a support group for 5th graders and 2nd graders with the very same issues/concerns/problems...etc. They just might not like to be mixed. Sorry.

I see nothing wrong with the 35-and-older age group topic. I don't consider this group EXCLUSIVE but rather INCLUSIVE of those 35+....it is all how you look at it. Paula congratulations on your pregnancy and best wishes for a successful pregnancy and birth.

Girls, girls, I think there´s some kind of misunderstanding. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with having a category for 35+. This is NOT what bothers me.
What bothers me is that someone took it upon herself to make it very clear to younger women that they ARE NOT WELCOME in this category. This is what upsets me, not the fact that the category exists. To Lily and Cindy, please refer to a post t_tled THIS FORUM IS FOR THOSE 35 AND PREGNANT, to see what I´m talking about.
This is a free forum and everyone should have the right to write in whatever category they find fit, regardless of age.

Maybe we should delete this category and call it "for anyone who's pregnant". Otherwise, there will always be complaints, which is sad. I'm over 35 and I really don't think I want to discuss my pregnancy with someone who's young enough to be my daughter, and can't possibly understand what it's like to be my age and pregnant.

To whoever wrote "To Paula:"
You completely misunderstood my message. I´ll try to make it as clear as possible. At no point in time did I suggest deleting this category. That would be as ridiculous as deleting the Teen Pregnancy category, for example.
I don´t know how to make it much more clear, but apparently my message is not coming across correctly:
I´m NOT complaining about the category. There´s NOTHING wrong with having this category. It´s GOOD to have these categories. I was simply upset about ONE PARTICULAR POST saying that those who were not 35, should not write anything here. I don´t understand why people have taken this so defensively, but I´m NOT against the category, just mean messages like the one I´m talking about. I don´t particularly want to share my experiences with you, either, or any other 35+ for that matter. I do however want to find out as much as I can on tests during pregnancy, such as, triple screening, CVS and amnio. It just so happens that the category that talks the most about these topics is this one!! So there! Hope it´s clear this time.

Paula, Paula - let me get this straight... You LIKE this forum because you acknowledge we have concerns younger preg. women dont, you WILL continue to post here, but you DISLIKE the fact that it is for us older women, and "dont particularly want to share your experiences with the 35+" crowd?? That's about as clear as mud.

and the "So there!" line is exactly what we want to avoid by being in a forum with more mature women... that said, I do wish you the best of luck on your hard fought pregnancy - I do wish you and your family the best. kris A.

You guys, it was not my intention at any time to offend any of you. At this point, I think it´s better if we let this post go. Do you agree? I did not mean to start some kind of debate, and I apologize for any misunderstanding and to anyone who I might have offended.

I don´t dislike the fact that it´s for older women at all. Just like other age groups are ent_tled to have their own categories. The ONLY thing I disliked was that particular post asking younger women to stay away. Not the category, at all. Like I said, I do not wish to continue this thread, if that´s ok with you. I just wanted to write you one last thing to clear up the fact that I do not dislike the category itself, just that one particular post.
It was never my intention to create such a fuss over this, really. I apologize for any misunderstanding.

Hi Paula, You may be interested in joining the "Problems Getting Pregnant" room. Its for woman just like you who are undergoing or underwent a__sisted reproduction. As someone who is nearly 40 AND needed a__sistance in conceiving, I find both rooms useful. I can talk about my fertility treatments in the other room(which has a lot of woman your age),and in this room I can discuss amnio's and how it sucks to not have my 30-yr old metabolism anymore. But like you I was a little offended when I was still ttc and the post in question was started because I was over 35 and felt like I belonged here even though I wasn't yet pregnant. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

I am just curious. Is this the same Paula who was mad about the teens in the Best Age To Get Pregnant forum? If it's not I apologize, but if it is this serves you right!
