Perl - March 30

Hi aalexand! I know of some women that do bleed during pregnancy and it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. The good thing is you saw a heartbeat! I am spiritual myself so I myself would have to agree with what your husband told you (leave it in God's hands). Listen to your husband and your Dr. too because stress is the worst thing you can do right now. ***BTW, I don't think I mentioned it before, I'm in California. ***It may be silly to be doing this so early but dh and I just discussed and sketched out combining our separate home offices into the room that is now my home office and converting his office into a nursery. I feel like I'm not allowed to get this excited because it's still too early so I'm not going to think about the nursery again for another month or so. Kristin: congratulations we're all relieved with you that you saw a heartbeat!!!

Thanks Perl for the words of encouragement. I'm from Mississippi and i really enjoy logging in reading and sharing info. I'm going to stay positive about everythin just can't wait to get past this nausea feeling all day long so that i can enjoy my pregnancy.

PERL - What's up with the ma__sage? I was thinking of booking one too. I usually try to get one once a month or more if I have the money. I will have to call my therapist to see if she doesthem in the first trimester. Hmm. I'm glad I'm not the only one wth gas issues!! LOL. YUCK! AALEXAND - I hear about your complaint so often and it is so normal in so many pregnanys. If I saw/heard the heartbeat, I wouldn't worry so much as if I didn't see or here it and was spotting, although that is very common too. Let go and let God! That is what I say! KRISTIN - I have stopped working out until I see my ob/gyn next week. I was a bit crampy the next day, so I have stopped - hubby's orders!! I usually jog about 3 times a week. So happy you saw the HB! YAYYYYY!! I am NOT getting the screening tests. There are WAY too many false positives. I have read millions of stories and hubby and I decided not to get it done, as it's only an estimate and because of our age, it is already up there, so why stess yourself out. We both said if they should feel anything is wrong, then I may opt for the amnio, but if everything is progessing nicely up to that point, no testing at all. Did you have an amnio with your last child? CHRISTA - I think it's a good choice we made by not working out until later in pregnancy. Just to be safe, and besides, I have been SO TIRED when I get home from work that I haven't even had the energy if I wanted to! Anyway, the doctor's office called me and said my levels were at 13,000 and I'm doing great!! I'm so happy to know that!! Now for my appointment next Wednesday!!!

Mel... 13000 sounds great, especially since it is still so early too. Sounds like a good strong pregnancy.

Hi everyone. Can I join? I'm due November 25th. I just turned 43, no kids, 2 miscarriages before 6 weeks (never made it to ultrasond). I just went for a scan and we saw a hearbeat!! It was 120, which the doc said is great. I'm 5 weeks 6 days....my HCG is 45,000! I'm starting to get excited, but I'm still too sacared to really allow myself too much hope yet. I've had some cramps, feels like AF type...anyone else?

Kristin - March 31

I'm happy your levels are at 13,000 MellyMel that's just great!. Thankyou for your advice on excercising. I will reconsider my workout regime. With every workout I worry is this the one where I push it over the edge? I don't want to overdo at this crucial time in the first trimester. Wishing you and Perl a great first appointment at the doctors. Talk to you all soon! Kristin

Hello all, and welcome aalexand! Glad to hear things are going well for all of you. ~ Kristin - that's great you had an encouraging ultrasound! I agree with you all that it is probably good to hold off on the aerobics until we are past the 1st trimester - better to be safe, and since we are all so tired anyways, we might as well take advantage of the time to baby *ourselves* for a bit! I will be going through the 11-13 week prenatal screening tests as well - I know that the test results can be inacurrate and all, but dh and I are of the "want more information" type, and would just feel better taking the tests than not taking them and worrying just as much anyways ~ CHRISTA - It's good that you are seeing a counselor - it certainly helps to deal with anxiety. I also started seeing one after my m/c last year, and it has helped me with the anxiety about trying to conceive, and all the fears I'm going through now. Plus, the midwife wants me to go off my meds, and it's nice to have counseling to balance that. Like you, I find that when I am busy, I don't worry as often, but if I have time off, I start thinking too much. Best to keep ourselves occupied! ~ Perl - that is odd about the ma__sage. You'd think it would be good right now, as it helps the blood circulation and calms your nerves, I'm sure they could just adjust the session a bit. ~ MellyMel - I'm also from New Hampshire - whereabouts are you? I'm in the Seacoast area - and yes, this winter was much nicer, wasn't it! It is actually beautiful out today - hoorray for Spring! As for "severe gas problems" - oh yes, definitely! I was in a meeting for most of the day yesterday, and needed to let off air for most of it - very uncomfortable! (I did tell them I was pregnant, so had an excuse for constantly getting up to run to the bathroom, but still, it was very embara__sing!) My M/S seems to have developed a pattern now. Before I was nauseous all the time, now I will have a really bad day, then a couple good days, then another bad day, and so on. I'm 8 weeks now, so hopefully this means it will be winding down soon. It is so wonderful to come here and know we are all going through the same things, both physically and emotionally. My nurse had said to "stay off those websites because they just wind people up", but I find it does just the opposite - gives us all well needed comfort during an uncertain time. So Thanks Ladies!!!!!

Welcome oldgal! Your levels sound wonderfull! The cramps are normal - just be careful what you take for them. (Tylonal is OK, just don't overdo it.) I had a lot of those types of cramps at first - now it is more just odd "pulling sensations" in the tummy. Best of luck!

oldgal - March 31

Thanks Daffy....I'm trying to read through all the posts and figure out who everyone is, but I have so much nasuea it's hard. Someone mentioned things NOT to eat....would love that link, if anyone has it handy. I"m having trouble eating much of ANYTHING right now, though.

LBH - April 2

Hi Ladies! I just turned 38 and after taking TWO home pregnancy tests, found out last Monday (3/27) that I'm pregnant. (Due date 11/28/06) I've NEVER been pg before and I'm freaked! I called to make any appt to see my midwife and they won't see me until 5/11! I'm relying on one really good girlfriend, research and reading for my does and don'ts!! EGS: I would have loved to go snowborading today... but there are alot of mixed opinions on this. I have a trip planned in a few weeks to go to a natural hot springs spa. Again, alot of opinions on that too. My life is on hold til 5/11!!! Does anyone have any sitees that they would recommend?

Hello my November friends... Today is my ultra sound. I am about 6 wks and 5 days by DOC. I have had mixed feelings about this pregnancy for a couple of weeks. I am not sure why. I am thinking maybe as a protective mechanism in case I miscarry. I have had to episodes of light pink spotting (very light...most probably would not have noticed) I just went to restroom again and noticed that there may be some color there again. The ultra sound is in 3 and a half short hours. I guess I will know for sure here in 4. I have also felt ...weird...feverish without the temp changes. Hard to explain but I have that all over body tingling/discomfort. It isn't pain...just like "yuk" Other then full b___bies and not knowing what I am willing to eat until I eat it I feel perfectly fine. Lets hear some updates from everyone! I'll be back later to fill you in on the u/s results.

MellyMel - April 3

MellyMel - April 3

Well girls, today I am 5w/6d along and still feeling pretty well. I still have sore b___bs, gas has eased a bit, sickness here and there, but NOTHING like I had first time around, so I'm not complaining. Seems the only time I really feel it is if I haven't eaten for a bit, then I tend to feel nausea. I had a good weekend. Yesterday was beautiful out!! I took my son to see Ice Age 2 on Saturday and it was really cute. I just wanted to update you girls on how I'm doing and will post more news Wednesday after my first prenatal visit. I also bought some prenatal vitamins at Walmart, because I remember the one the ob/gyn gave me last time I was pregnant were disguesting!! These don't seem bad at all. I'll make sure to tell her about them to make sure they are o.k.'d with her. I am still have so many mixed emotions about this pregnancy. Sometimes I still have regrets that I got pregnant and feel so guilty about it, so I have prayed and asked God to get these thoughts out of my head and let me be happy and not to dwell on the past!!! I just keep second guessing is all. I think my son is 7, no daycare expenses, things are so much easier at his age now, things are great in life right now, why did I get pregnant??!! Then the other part reminds me of how beatiful it is and that my son will now have a brother or sister to grow up with. Granted they won't be close in age, but they will still be siblings. Oh well, I've babbled enough. Everyone have a great day!! Melly xo

christa0120 - April 3

yeah...what melly mel said! This is how I feel also! Life was so easy! NOW THIS!!! But what if todays u/s shows a non viable pregnancy...I would freak! So wishywashy

WE SAW A HEART BEAT FRIDAY!! ANd at only 5 weeks 6 days...It was ticking away at 120 BPM......I hope it wasn't MY heart they picked up. WE got a cute little picutre of the little bean with a bright spot where heart is. I'm still so scared and freaked.....at 43, I know I'm by no means out of the water yet. CHrista...I"ve had a little pink spotting here and there, it's normal, for the most part, I wouldnt worry. Good luck on your ultrasound. Just relax, and think good thoughts... MY NAUSEA IS KILLING ME. Anyone have any good safer remedies?
