survey says...107 beats a minute. Yes, we have a heart beat! Bean is measuring 6w3d, about right for my dates.
OLDGAL...one of the things that helped me with my pregnancy with ds was 1/2 Unisom and Vit b6. Both are category A drugs in pregnancy for they are safe. Take them at night before bed and you will also sleep well. Congrats.

Congratulations OldGal on seeing the heartbeat!! Christa..how was your ultrsound today?? My spotting has stopped for now it has been 6 days since the last spot...hope that is the end of it. I feel "full all the time". Just waiting on word from my gyno to tell me if it is safe for me to fly to FLA in 2 days. Can't wait to get updated on your doctor visits. Have most of you girls told people you are pregnant? I have not..only my Dad and my partner know. I want to tell my mother but I am kindof scared. You see I am not married and she kindof did not give her seal of approval last time I was pregnat and lost. Any suggestions on breaking the news to mom? I think I will wait till the 3 month mark to tell everyone else!!XO Girls

Christa - what great news!! It must take a little bit of stress of you when you finally get to see the heartbeat. I know it will off me, even though there is still such a long way to go.

I'm just having a time with feeling nausea and tired. This baby has just zapped all my energy i think once i get pa__s the sick feeling i'll enjoy my pregnancy more. I'm taking my prenatal vitamins and iron pills but i still have no energy can anyone recommend something they have tried that actually works!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone. Welcome LBH. Saturday I felt like I really had to have a slice of bacon. After making it and tasting the bacon I spit it out into my napkin, just like that, as if it was a reflex. I really felt like eating it but my sense of taste and sense of smell rejected it. This was a new feeling for me and really, really weird. KRISTIN: I've not told my mom either only my dh, my dad and a couple of close friends. My mom has never really accepted my husband or marriage and is the most negative person I've ever known so I'm thinking I'll tell her at the same time we tell everyone else probably in mid-May. I'd suggest you tell your mom with confidence and determination that you are pregnant, that you are happy about it, that with or without her support she will soon have a grandchild but that you sincerely hope that she will give you motherly support and advice during your pregnancy. Good luck, I know it's hard to not have mom's suport but if she refuses to support you, I hope and am sure you will find other women in your family or circle of friends who are willing to give you advice and support. And we also have all the women on this board who are very supportive too! Also, thanks for asking, my ultrasound is tomorrow and I'm so nervous. Last time I was pregnant I found out about my miscarriage during an ultrasound so tomorrow being my first ultrasound for this pregnancy, this is bringing back very bad memories and a lot of fear. I remember l could tell the u/s tech was trying to be cool even though I could also tell by her expression that something was wrong. When she said "I'll be right back I have to go get your Dr"., I knew something was wrong. To make things worse my dh had a panic attack right there in the med center, and my ob/gyn thinking he was having a heart attack had him carted away from me in an ambulance and I was left alone grieving about the miscarriage and worried about dh at the same time. What a nightmare it was. Anyway, I'll be looking for her facial expressions again tomorrow hoping to see a neutral or happy face rather than a concerned expression. I really need for everything to be perfect during tomorrow's ultrasound.

Aalexand, i know it is the last thing that you feel like doing when you are really tired but for me, something about walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes gives me a boost of energy and makes me feel better. Now, when I feel very tired I just rest (because it's important to listen to our bodies) but if I'm just feeling a little tired I convince myself to go to the gym or talk a walk outside just for 30 minutes. Even 20 minutes may do some good. Try it you might be surprised at how energized you feel for the rest of the day.

This site is a God-send. I really look forward to the replies, questions and concerns of every single person on here. Perl your advice was just great on telling my Mom. She can't blame me for holding back on telling her when her response was less than welcoming last time. Also Perl, I felt b___terflies in my stomach when you explained your miscarriage and the effect it had on your dad. When I went in last week for my ultrasound I was trying to play it cool..but I was dying inside. The technician seemed so bland when she was marking the borders etc. The confirmation came when she tilted the screen towards me and showed me the yolk sac the flashing light and the tiny fetus. Again...BEST OF LUCK!! tomorrow with your ultrasound..I have faith everything will be just fine..
XO
