Hi all: everyone is just buzzing with energy..where do you find it??? My shower is mid-October, hope I make it. I'ts a co-ed 'dinner' shower sponsered by B & S in law. There will be about 30 people there! Also, I'm getting one for work a few days earlier. I"m really touched by such generosity, and we REALLY need baby things, so this is just great. I too, am getting really a bit uncomfortable with people saying "Any day, now".....No, actually 6 to 9 weeks or so. They just can't believe it. I mean, I know I'm big, but compared to others I know, I"m by no means ready to 'pop.'
Well, hope all of you are hanging in there...I've begun getting a few of the "symptoms" that aren't often talked about......you know, that ailment that is mostly more common to the geriatric population...and which a certain ointment with "H" in the t_tle can help.......hehehe.

Is there anybody else NOT sleeping besides me? If I'm not getting up to pee every 2-3 hours, I am getting up to turn over to my other side because my shoulder or hip hurts and for some reason I keep getting up right before hubby's alarm goes off at 5:00 and lay there awake until 7:00 when I wake my son up to get him ready for school. I am SO exhausted!!!!!

Mel...My nights to a T...Last night was particularly fun as I am doing a 24 hr urine and had to pee and pour and put back in fridge all night. My right shoulder is killing me because of when I had to sleep on my right side when I was getting all those pains before. The night s are very long and horrible. It is almost like I hate bed time because I know it will be a nightmare. Misery loves company...glad to hear I am not alone...lol

I know those nights well. I'm exhausted around 10:30 and fall asleep after about 10 minutes of rolling from side to side with my body pillow. Then I start getting up at 1:30 thinking it feels like 5:00 am. I pee at least four times throughout the night, lie wide awake and sometimes get up to watch TV, mostly because I'm suffering from acid reflux. I can't wait until this is over! =)

Ohhhh yeah, the night issue. I'm up every few hours to pee, as well...and yes, I wake up every time I turn because no way to 'turn' without using my arms....sometimes I wake up to find myself on my back...fell like a turtle or beetle, arms and legs flailing trying to get onto one side or the other!! I wonder if this is nature's way of preparing us for getting up every few hours to feed baby? I figure i better get used to it, however, the other part of my says.."GIVE ME A FRICKIN BREAK FOR THE NEXT ^6-9 WEEKS, WILL YA!

Okay here goes again (I decided to take a break first.) ANGELSWIM: ditto on the acid reflux. I've tried everything and it can be made better but won't go away. HAPPYGAL: so sorry to hear that you have to use the "H" ointment. I hear it's a common pregnancy problem though. I laughed when I read your turtle/beetle comment. That's exactly how I feel. Rolling over easily in bed is an impossibility for me now too. I have to scoot and turn using my arms or scoop my belly with one arm and use all the strength in my other arm to get up out of bed. MELLYMEL: my usual wake up time used to be 7 AM now more like anything between 3-5 AM. My bed is no longer a good resting place for me either unless I'm really propped up at an angle. CHRISTA: Do you have to save all your urine for a 24 hour period? What are they looking for with that much urine--sorry if I missed something(?)

Perl...The 24 hr urine test checks for a few things but in my case it is to see if I am spilling protein into the urine...(because of my history of PIH/pre-eclmapsia. It is an indicator of the renal function...or lack there of. One of the things with pre-e is that your liver and kidneys start to shut down "potentially". I hate doing it too...It is literally like a ball and chain. The urine has to be refrigerated (which is gross but we do have a fridge in the garage) So every time I had to pee, off to the garage I went to collect my bucket, to the toidy...then having to pour my pee into the bucket...You know how many times a day I pee???LOL...and I even had to do it thru the night too...ugh! I hate it!

Well, the ultrasound I had yesterday showed that the baby is 4 pounds 2 oz. according to her measurement. Is this a little big for being 32 weeks (today)? I'm thinking I'm farther along than what the doctors think, at least by the research I've done as well as my s in-law is due Nov 3rd, and her baby weighs about the same.

Christa~I remember the 24-urine output all to well even though it was almost 8 years ago. LOL. The only difference was I did it while in the hospital, so I didn't have to do it at home and refrigerate it and stuff. Boy, I don't miss those days!! I didn't develop preeclampsia until I believe my 34 or 35th week. Right now I'm at 30/4 and praying to God that I don't develop it again!! I'm also glad to know that I am also not the only one that is not sleeping!! SHEESH.....Misery does love company! LOL. Angelswim, remember that it is just an estimate. They can be off by a pound or sometimes more. There are some woman I know that have had ultrasounds and were told they were having a 9 lb. baby and only had a 7 lb. baby and vice versa, so if I were you, I would take it with a grain of salt. Just be comforted knowing that your baby is at least growing at a good rate. :) My baby book says they should be a little over 3 lbs. right now I believe, but even that is just an estimate. We never know truly how fast or slow the baby is growing until we have it. I'm hoping for a chunky a__s baby though!!! LOL

Angelswim, I actually just found this for you on this site and copied and pasted for you: Week 32
Now that you are 32 weeks pregnant, at this stage, your baby weighs around four pounds (1702 grams). All five senses are now working and it's time ofr the final touches! Baby's fingernails and toenails are grown, and he now has eyelashes, eyebrows and hair on his head. (The lanugo hair that covered your baby since the first trimester is starting to fall off but some may still be on his shoulders and back at birth.)

Hi everyone: I'm going through TERRIBLE itching again, between my fingers, on my feet (funny, not too much on my belly and still no stretch marks, YIPPIE). But the itching is just horrible. I'm really scared my liver isn't working properly...anyone know if itching is a symptom of Pre-C?? I know there are some potentially dangerous skin sympoms of other things, like ICP (cholestasis)....which requries a liver-function Bile test. URG....I hate this anxiety, here we are in the home stretch and now all the fears of the first trimester on upon me again..............anyone else feeling a bit anxious? I appologize if I'm creating any stress.....

Angelswim, At 30 weeks, my baby weighed 4.5 pounds! Talk about being 'ahead' I think this is from the GD, but, I've also heard that the measurments are just "ball-park."

I've read a number of different stories about where things should be at 32 weeks. I guess I can consider this my "first" child when it comes to 32-40 weeks since my true first didn't get past 7 months. I'm trying my best not to worry, but since I have decided on a section I just don't want to go into "early" labor.

HappyGal~Have you called your doctor about the itching? Itching can be a sign of a few things and then again nothing. You really should call and be seen or have them run some blood labs on you to make sure you are o.k. And no, you are not the only one anxious about pregnancy problems, believe me. On another note, I am pasting a link that is a webpage that has a few of my baby shower pics on it. I don't have many, but thought I'd share. When my other sister emails me the others, I will post them too. They didn't get the gift table, but managed to get the cake and food! LOL. I am only leaving it up until early tonight, because I HATE to post pictures online as it can be dangerous. Bye for now...............http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i187/melodyarnold/
