Hello Ladies i'm doing great just waiting on November LOL!!!! Well i went to the doctor on yesterday and was able to hear the hearbeat on the doppler( i could have listened all day). I have one of the BeBe Heartsounds at home but i haven't been able to find the heartbeat maybe once the baby get's bigger i will be able to. I was 13wks as of yesterday and everything looked fine my dr told me i will probably have some pain in my lower abdomen; which i have been having on and off. My dr asked me a while ago if i wanted to do the amino but my husband and i decided not to. We are praying for a healthy child and regardless of what we will love it so i did not want to put my pregnancy in any kind of risk by having that done especially since i was dealing with the spotting and bleeding caused by the fibroids. And i feel if you find out your child may have DS it will probably worry you throughout the pregnancy which isn't good. So i'm claiming a healthy baby. If i don't mention anyone by name please know that i'm talking to all of you guys!!!! LOL

Thanks Melly for the warm wishes. I scheduled it late in the day today & will report back. Kristin: how awesome it must have felt to see little legs and arms. My last u/s photo the little one looked kind of like a pollywog with arms so I'll be very excited too when I see arms and legs. Good thing your Dr waited even though you were only off the 11 week marker by just a couple of days. Another week and they can get more detailed information that you need. I think it's great that at least 5 of us here are doing the same thing "together" or around the same date anyway, next week. If I'm not mistaken, Kristin, Happygal, Christa, LBH (are you still out there?) and I---that's 5 of us--have appointments next week (many of us on 5/11) and all include nuchal scan aka, FTS, IPS, Early Risk a__sessment, NTT, etc. They all sound like basically like the same screening. Daffy's already done and Melly is a little later on. So soon we will be a little more informed but hopefully not too freaked out by our numbers. Somebody please slap me if I start to freak out. : )

Hi AAlex, congrats on hearing the heartbeat. I can't wait to hear my littleone's too. I was just going to call out for reports from Alex, MJS and Alley if you're all still logging onto this board. I took a break while writing my last message so your message wasn't there before I started my previous post. Good to hear from you Alex and that you're doing well. So, are you still dealing with bleeding from the fibroids or has it stopped?

AALEX~Why should you be having pain in your abdomen did your doctor say? I also couldn't agree with you more. I declare I am having a healthy baby too!! LOL. My ob/gyn also mentioned amnio to me in my first visit and I was like, um ...NOOOO. LOL. She understands and even agreed with me about the blood screen and my age/false positives/blah.blah.blah. However, I am doing the NT Scan in two weeks. Even if that is abnormal, we are not doing the amnio. At least I would have a more accurate idea to my odds verses the blood testing ya know? I can't believe everyone is next week and I am the one after. I think that is because they changed my dates on me - b___hes!!LOL. Perl~do let us know how it went.

I'm back from my ob's office. We heard the heartbeat--it was so awesome to hear it and I feel so relieved. I had a little bit of a scare though because it seemed like an eternity for the few minutes of my Dr searching for the heartbeat, telling me it might be too soon because my uterus is tipped way back and because it may be too early. Then she found it. She estimated the heartbeat to be at 170 bpm and considering the uterus is tipped and she was still able to hear it at 11 weeks she figures it has to be a strong heartbeat. She told me I would have "fun" at the specialist's office next week when I go in for the nuchal ultrasound (FTS). Fun was not the word I had in mind but I guess we could look at it that way. Melly, thanks for the laugh!! : ) Yeah we're a little bit ahead of you, but think of it this way---we're like your guinea pigs, your advance team, your testers. We're doing it first and then we'll tell you what it was like, what to expect, what to ask, etc. This is to your advantage--it's a good thing for you. : )

PERL~YAY! You heard the heartbeat. Wow, 170 is high. Mine was 158 at my visit, but that said it was strong, so I guess that is good too. :) I guess I can learn from you girls then in next few weeks since you are ahead of me. I looked up the NT Scan to read about it, and hubby and I are thinking maybe skipping that one too. It seems that has false positives also, not as high as the blood, but it has some. I don't know. We'll see I guess. I will let you know. I"m glad everything went good Perl :) P.S. I also have a tipped uterus and when I had my ultrasound she took a minute to find the baby! xo

Hi. I have only written once on this thread, but deciding to try and play a more active role since you are all so nice :) I am turning 36 on May 11th - many of you have that date written in your calendar for other reasons!!
I am preg with my 4th and did an u/s at 8 w4d where everything seemed to be ok. Feeling a little different this time, so hope it's all good. I will be 10w tomorrow, and have my nuchal scan scheduled for May 22nd - closer to 13th week. I have a custom of not telling anyone until after the first trimester, but people are totally busting me, since I am SO showing. I have to suck in my gut all day long!! Good luck girls. Speak to you soon.

Hey Melly! It was one monster humongous margarita enough for every woman on this board. How's everyone?! I had such a great time last night at the 5 de Mayo fiesta, comparing notes with my pregnant friend. She's 32 weeks into pregnancy so it was great to listen to her husband giving my husband advice on the paternal anxiety he was feeling this past month with the reality of fatherhood finally setting in. Other than that, the food was great the atmosphere loud, chaotic and party-like with sombreros, maracas, beer and Jose Cuervo shots all over the place (except not right in front of me of course). I'm so happy my energy has come back and I've had a few days without morning sickness. It's warm and sunny. I'm taking advantage and having all the spring & summer fun I can have before it all comes to a temporary halt in November. : )

Oops! Yes, it was a monster, humongous, VIRGIN, margarita. Not one sip for me of any of the beer or the alcoholic mango margarita my dh drank. Hooray for me I do have willpower!!

Annishel: please do stick around--the more the merrier! Due dates aren't always exact anyways (unless you have a planned c-section) it's still possible that you'll have your baby in November or a couple of weeks later than Dec 2nd either way, stick around. The point is that we're all just a couple of weeks apart from each other in our stages of pregnancy so we can all go through our experiences together.
