Annishel: please do stick around--the more the merrier! Due dates aren't always exact anyways (unless you have a planned c-section) it's still possible that you'll have your baby in November or a couple of weeks later than Dec 2nd either way, stick around. The point is that we're all just a couple of weeks apart from each other in our stages of pregnancy so we can all go through our experiences together.

Thanks for being so welcoming :). I had a blood test today for something to do with Hemoglobin. I have a very low iron count, so they were doing some test. I have anemia off and on in life, so this is not surprising, and doesnt really keep me from slowing down. I have been crazy nervous about feeling NO activity in the stomach area or anything, so I will be happy to go to the doctor on Thursday, May 11th - my b-day and G-d willing, hear a heartbeat. Be back with you guys soon!

Hi Annishel! Have you not felt anything in the stomach area at all since you got pregnant or just recently? I a__sume you're talking about morning sickness/nausea and indigestion and expansion. If it's just a recent feeling keep in mind that you just pa__sed the 12 week mark which is when most women start to feel better. Maybe that's all that's going on. Also, we don't all have the same symptoms either, you may one of the lucky ones not feeling the symptoms but still have a healthy pregnancy. I was worried my lab work would show anemia also--it's been a problem for me too. Dr. told me something on my lab results showed her that I could be susceptible to anemia, it was low but still at the bottom of the normal range. So do you have to take more iron than what's in your prenatal vitamin or is that too harmful for the baby? What do they recommend you do when you're anemic & pregnant?

Happy Bday Mel! I am having my NT here in 1hr 45 minutes...Kristen...good luck on yours. I had been feeling really nauseated and on Monday I was nauseated all day but had "flag football practice" as we are having a game tonight...Mothers vs Sons. (can't wait it will be so fun) After the practice nad me out and running about I have felt sooo much better. The exercise really helped alleviate the nausea. Im off and running (or some other form of physical torture) in hopes that it is the cure. I'll talk to you all later when I get back from my scan...

I've recently found this thread in forum and you ladies seem to be the only ones nearest my due date of "New Years Eve". Considering all my babies were preamies (3-4 wks early) can I join your group? I know you're all a bit further along than me, but you give me so much to look forward to... :) I'm just now in my 7th week and having slight off and on ms. TUMs work great!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELLYMEL!! KRISTIN: Good luck today!! Has the fever gone down at all? CHRISTA: What does it mean that the baby did not cooperate? Was baby moving around too much, or what happened? Good luck, I hope it works out better tomorow! Sounds like you can get results in 1 day--that's pretty quick. I hope I get mine that quickly too. Waiting is not fun. MDBOLDUC: Welcome! Yes, Tums are great--for me, Pepsid worked faster but doesn't have the calcium that Tums do. ****Well this is a big week for many of us. Some of us just started the 2nd Trimester and many of us are just a week or so away from 2nd Trimester--WOO HOO, 1 DOWN 2 TO GO!! Also, many of us have appointments today or tomorrow. I hope to hear reports in the next couple of days from at least 5 of you who have appointments this week. Good luck and blessings to everyone!!

Hey Girls..Well..my appointment was rescheduled again for tomorrow at 4. Seems they forgot that the particular tech qualified to do my NT was not in today. Man..I am a little peeved..as I also forgot my rec form and had to drive home again get it ..to come back and they said she was not in. Oh well. Anyway, Christa..what does that mean the baby was not co-operating? Did they take any measurements? Was there a heartbeat..On my rec form it has spaces for the CRL the NT and the BPD...did they date your pregnancy? Why would they already schedule you for a CVS? I am asking these questions out of concern...I really hope you are o.k.? If you can please elaborate on your Test today....I am living vicariously through you right now.. and trying to remain postive for myself as well.

Sorry girls...probably should have been more specific so you wouldnt get worried. I was tired whn I got home and wasnt into typing as much as I wanted to nap...LOL. The peanut was essentially not laying in a position that any measurements could be taken for the NT. Apparently s/he was laying on its side and wouldn't roll over or play at all. The heartbeat was seen and measured 160. I did see its little arm reach up towards the wand (I swear I actually felt it at that very moment) So bottom line...peanut was playing hide and seek with the ultra sound tech and peanut won. Why the CVS scheduled?? Well, I am 11w 4d, tomoow 11/5 and they dont like to schedule CVS after 12 w. (sounds like they are relatively strict on this) So...we got it scheduled as a "just in case things dont; look too great or the peanut is not cooperating again" So far no need to worry, I am not. You all also have to remember I am seeing perinatologists and not regular OB so I have access to all the bells and whistles in the office I go to. One hiccup and I get tested...LOL. Good luck tomorrow Kristen and thanks for the concern girls!

Darn it, two re-scheduled appointments from Kristin and Christa. I was really hoping to hear more info from the two of you in addition to Daffy's previous info before my appointment tomorrow. I'm sure you're peeved Kristin--I would be too. Christa, how SWEET that you could see and feel peanut's arm move. *** The Dr's office called me today to remind me of my appointment tomorrow (as if I could forget) and they told me it would be about 10 days before I get any results from tomorrow's screening which I guess cuts CVS out of my choices if a test is needed it'll have to me amnio. Good luck again everyone!

I think CVS can be done a little longer than 12 weeks. You will get measurements right away..I am quite sure of this..at least I did before and will again..but the interpretation of the results or the precentiles may take a few days or so by the time your OB looks at them and relays the results to you..often alot of techs do not want to give away too much info as they are not qualitifed to do this..they are there just to take the measurements for the most part..and obviously most know what these measurements indicate from experience. If you have a high NT Perl..they will quickly offer you CVS (before the cutoff mark) and it is up to you whether you will have it. As you are probably aware the NT is only an indicator of a problem ...whereas the CVS can tell you exactly what the problem is..whether it is DS,Trisomy, or some other genetic disorder, as well it will rule out any of these things too! Only about 5% of women have a high risk NT and therefore are offered the CVS.
Best of Luck to everyone..
XO

Welcome to annishel and mdbolduc! ~ Sorry your appts. got rescheduled Kristin and Christa. My peanut also was a bit troublesome at the NT scan - also in the wrong position and didn't want to move for a while, then finally woke up and wiggled all over the place! I was told that the timing for the CVS was a bit tight, but if you can get it, it is probably worth it. I was close enough that since they knew I could get an early amnio that they would bypa__s the CVS. I go for the amnio next wed. A bit nervous - a friend was telling me about hers, and how her peanut kept kicking the needle...she was trying to rea__sure me, but just made me more nervous! lol! I've been having a lot of cramps the last day or so, which also worried me, but saw in another thread that it seems to be normal for this time. ~ Has anyone's MS died down? I don't have the constant nausea anymore, but when I do get it, it comes on strong! Anyone else find they have lost their appit_te? I have to force myself to eat for peanut's sake! ~ Happy belated B-day Melly! Glad to hear you are feeling better.
~ Perl - good luck on your appointment - let us know how it goes! How is everyone else doing?

Happy B-day Mel (yesterday) and Me :) (today!). Since I dont have my NT until May 22nd, and I have been feeling paranoid - my belly seems less swollen, hardly any nausea, and dont feel anything swimming around, I made an appt with the OB today to hear the heartbeat - G-d willing!! I'll let y'all know how it goes. It looks like we will be getting a lot of info from others today. I live overseas so if you are in the states or Canada I am between 7 and 10 hours ahead of you, depending on which zone you live in. This means my appt today will be before most of you get up this morning! But may go out straight for my b-day after that, so wont be home until later to report. Ok, too many details. Have a good one!
