Thank you all for your good wishes. I pray all will be well... I have been so paranoid, since I have my hands constantly on my stomach and there is like nothing going on in there :)!! This is a 4th preg, so I was hoping for some early action - any of you feeling ANYTHING?? I would even settle for some gas now :). Take care and looking forward to hearing all your updates.

Perl - May 21

Annishel: I had small twitchy feelings in my tummy earlier this week--different than gas usually feels. But then it was followed by some quick strong cramps and I've felt nothing but a mild nausea and awful nighttime stinging on my nipples in the last two days. Anyone else feeling anything?****BTW, I found out yesterday, I pa__sed the California bar exam which is a HUGE burden lifted off my shoulders and such relief . I was so afraid that I'd fail and would have to re-take the dreadful 18 hour exam in July while 6 months pregnant. I imagined myself leaving a room full of thousands of exam takers at least 18 times (once every hour) just to run to the bathroom to pee. I won't be doing that! : ) God is good!! ***My belly is definitely bigger this week although no one can tell I"m pregnant yet by looking at me.

Perl~ Congratulations on pa__sing your bar exam! What an accomplishment especially when pregnant!! I had a fluttery feeling two mornings ago when I woke up. I have know idea what that was..I can only a__sume it was the little one doing summersaults in my abdomen and trying to wake me up!! Well, it worked! I am off to a bridal shower today and then I have a childs 1st birthday to go to afterwards!! Having a hard time trying to figure out what to wear for alot of these people are unaware of my pregnancy and I still want to keep it that way. I just look a little pudgy around my abdomen. I am quite tall 5'11 and have always been a fan of the babydoll style anyway..but now it really looks like I am trying to hide something where as before the tops just flowed over by abdomen...Hope everyone has a great Sunday! Daffy~ I am not sure if I missed one of your threads but..I noticed you went in for your CVS? Was that recommended for you right away after your NT? Hope you are doing well too! Kristin

Perl - CCOONNGGRRAATTUULLAATTIIOONNSS!!!!!!!!!!! on your bar exam. Now you can really sit back and relax (?!?!?!!?) into your pregnancy. Well done - you really deserve some pampering as a reward. Treat yourself to something good for you and baby!!

PERL~Congratulations!! That is just super news. I have a friend who is graduating Ma__s School of Law this year and going for the bar when she moves to Arizona. ANNISHEL and KRISTEN~I haven't felt anything yet. I thought I did once..but the books say at this stage it is probably just gas. I fetl it one night lying on my side. I am 12 weeks today :) I have my next ob/gyn appt. this Thursday and I hope they can hear the hb on the doppler! I have gained 10 lbs. so far and that is not even funny. I"m going to ask her Thursday if there is anything wrong with the weight gain or is it normal? I've read that alot of weight gain can show some concern for a problem, but hubby says it's just from eating alot. LOL. I will ask her anyway. Today was hubby's birthday, so I had some cake and then some more. LOL. Hope everyone is well and talk soon!! XO

Hi All; Perl, great about exam, congrats. Everyone else seems to be doing fine. Yeah, I think it's too soon to feel anything, but who knows. I'm starting to pop out and people are noticing...which I dont' like. It amazes me how some people can be SO BOLD...like, "WOW, congrats on your pregnacy how far along are you?"....like what if I were just fat, or what if I had a stomach tumor, or somehting? Gees, I would NEVER a__sume unless It was SOOO obvious, and I'm not THAT obvious. Anyway, I'm 13 weeks 2days today. I can't remember if I posted my NT results. They were better than what it would be for my advanced age (I love how they put that). Normally, I would have a 1-60 chance of down, after the screen, it went to 1-669, whihc is less than 1/2 percent.....I'll take it. The Trisomy was a little less encouraging, but still better than if by age...I think I would have a 1-34 chance by age, and it went up to 1-144. Still like 1%. OB would like me to do amnio because they like to see that number below 1-250. I think I'll skip the amnio. Why risk it if my chances are less (percentage wise) than the risk of the test itself, which can range up to 1%??? I think if my risk factor had RISEN to over 2% or more...I would have to give it some serious thought. OH, big news...I RENTED A BABY DOPPLER! At first I totally freaked out because I didn't bother to listen to the CD and somehow thought that I could would just KNOW what to listen for. Afterall, I heard what MY Heartbeat sounded like, how different coudl it be? Well, it's a LOT different. After practicing, I can now pretty easily find the little galloping hearbeat..and fetal bloodflow. It's SOOO cool. A bit nerve wracking, because it can take 5 minutes to locate the hearbeat....but once you have it, there's nothing like it. I have my next OB appt. on WEd, and then just waiting for the 16 week anatomy scan. OH and my protein S came back high, so I"m back on heprin twice a day...YUCK....but whatever it takes to carry things thing through. Take care all....

Hey guys! First of all, PERL - congrats on pa__sing the bar! Will you be going to work in a law firm anytime soon? Do you already? Ok, so about the NT - Big Whew..... due to this feeling nothing moving around, I was so nervous today. Anyways, baby was very cooperative - I remember with my last child this test took 30 minutes. The measurements for the neck is 1 mm, so I am praying blood results match those. Praying for all of you too (an extra big prayer for Daffy :)). I told my mom she could not spill the beans to most of my family members (none of my 4 sibs know yet), and my dh will need to tell his family. None of them live anywhere near me, so its not like they could see my vastly growing stomach, but the last thing I need is for me to run into an old friend before they hear from us!! Then I will be able to stop holding in my stomach and I guess let the friends and neighbors figure it out for themselves! I weighed 114 before and think I weigh 120 now - so dont worry about gaining 10 pounds. At 12w4d, I am catching up quickly. I also eat a lot :). Did they give you 3D pics of your peanut from the NT? I cant even look at it. Its like an alien !! Speak to you soon!

CONGRATS Perl on the bar exam!!!!! Hello ladies hope all is well with me i go to the Dr on wednesday and i will be 16wks on that day so i hope he sch. me an ultrasound so that i can find out the gender. A friend of mine had her baby on Thursday and i saw the baby a few minutes after she came sooooooo sweet, i cannot wait until November. I was also able to hold her, babies are so sweet when they are little. Believe it or not i have been feeling some fluttering so i guess you can actually start feeling it early but i cannot wait until i can really feel it and see my stomach move. Well just wanted to check in with you ladies, have a great Monday; talk to you all later!!!!!!

Perl - May 23

Hello Ladies, thank you all very much. I took the exam a few months ago, in February, even though I was originally scheduled to take it last July. Early last year, I had prepared for months, paid too much money for a good tutor and review courses and then the day before the exam last July I miscarried at 12 weeks into pregnancy. Even though they told me the cause was a chromosomal abnormality, in part, I blame myself (stress and lack of sleep) and the exam for what happened. So in addition to the excitement of achieving a goal, pa__sing the exam (the exam was an ugly reminder of what happened) brings me to a more complete closure that I needed to help in my emotional healing. Now I can more clearly focus on and enjoy my pregnancy. ** Am I the only one still feeling some nausea?? This was supposed to end with the 1st trimester-how unfair. **

Perl - May 23

Congratulations again to Doctor Hopeful!!! (see the I'm feeling good because. . . post). MEL: My advice nurse told me it's perfectly normal to gain or lose 10 pounds in the first trimester so generally you should be fine. Congrats to your Ma__s Law friend on surviving law school. I think Ariz bar tests Ariz law (as opposed to federal law), that will be a challenge since she attended law school in MA. I wish her luck. ANNISHEL: I did not get a 3D. I've seen some of those "alien" looking ultrasound pictures they are a bit frightening. To answer your question, I worked at a large, internationally-known law firm a couple of years ago and did not enjoy it much. I fit in best in a corporate legal department or in state government. But I plan to stay with baby for the first year at least or just work part-time. HAPPYGAL: I may soon join you and KRISTIN in the doppler club. It sounds like fun and would be great to get rea__surance whenever you want it. It's great to hear that you are satisfied with your NT results, I like your positive att_tude. Those are good odds. AALEX: one of my friends just had her baby too, on Saturday by c-section. He was so adorable and crying when I arrived. I picked him up and he just dozed off to sleep in my arms. It just made me feel so motherly, I can't wait to hold my own little one in my arms!! CHRISTA: good luck on your appointment tomorrow!!

happpygal - May 24

Wow, Perl....I'm so sorry that happened to you, and the day before the Bar....oh my gawd. It's amazing you didn't just fold right there...you must be a strong gal :)! And of course you would be retraumatized on taking it again....what a huge relief you pa__sed, and in a way, it is a sort of double milestone, as you mentioned. Test anxiety seems all around me, too...my DH just took his oral boards in psychiatriy, and he has to wait a month for results....he's very obessesive and it's hard to be around sometimes. Also, me being the "therapist" I find myself wanting to come up with solutions for him to cope...when he really should be seeing a professional instead of leaning on his wife. Someone mentioned nausea??? Well, out of the blue yesterday morning I threw up in the sink. Just came on suddenly...so I guess I'm still having boughts of it. Wish we could post belly pictures.....woudl be cool to compare. I think I look rather large at this point....I'm in NYC and people are starting to offer me their seats on the subway....guess it's really happening.

Had my wekk 13/14 prenatal visit. Everything is moving along well. Took a while to hear the hb via doppler but I think the nurse was searching a bit too low. When she finally moved up a bit there it was! 147. My next appt is in 4 wks and I will have the level 2 done then. I will take my son with me so he can get a glimpse and make it more real for him. My nausea is in spurts now. If I get too hungry it may come on or if I eat something that doesn't agree with me. I seem to have also started throwing up when I brush my teeth (this happened when I was preggers with son) Time to start buying lots of tooth paste as I will have to brush before and after I throw up in the morning....LOL. Perl congrats on the BAR. To the rest of the ladies congrats all is going so well.

Hi Nov Mommies! Just wondering are any of the girls who have had the NT and the first blood test..are they doing the second blood test at 16 weeks or so? Just wondering? For me, I was told the blood work had two parts to it, so they can do a comparitive? Anyway, hope everyone is doing well! Congrats on the great 13/14 week prenatal Christa! I had mine yesterday as well!! The heartbeat on mine was 147 as well..hee hee! My doc said if the old wives tail is true that would indicate a girl..who knows!! I guess anything over 140 is suppose to indicate that...but again it is an old wives tale. Ciao Girls!!!! Kristin

Kristin72 - May 25

P.S. After your ultrasounds..did your techs date you all right on to the day? The reason I am asking is mine was dated 4 days earlier...Will that change my due date, or how far along I really am? My doc said my delivery date has not changed and anything within 7 days is considered normal...who knows...but I am suppose to be 14 weeks 1 day today? :)

christa0120 - May 25

kristen...give or take a week for the u/s dates. It is a subjective measurement. Lets say if they measure the femur and it is at all foreshortened then the measurement will be scewed. I hate to also break the wives tale but during our NT we saw the definate male part (although it is still to early to say for absolute) so my 147 is a male. (I hope this stays true...this mama wants another boy!)
