Thanks for the responses. Happygal: sorry about the problems with your dh (I've had some of those moments with mine too) , but very nice to hear that you and baby are doing well. My baby measured slighly large too (a week ahead at 20 weeks) and for some women who had bigger differences, I hear it often evens out later in the pregnancy. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a "beefy baby" (what the u/s tech called mine). :)

Hi Again!
Perl, I hope you are feeling much better today. happy gal, sorry about the dh issues. I hope they resolve and you are both back on track soon.
I do plan to bf'd. I bf'd my first two. Had a lot of problems with #1 and ended up supplementing, but he went on to bf'd until he was over 2. DS #2 nursed exclusively. Refused the bottle and didn't take food until 8 months. Only issue I had was severe engorement. Went to a lactation consultant once and it helped temendously. I'm hoping its like riding a bike and all comes back. Also hoping this baby is the trooper that ds#2 was, but hope this one will take a bottle so I can have some freedom once in a while. As for leaking, I don't have any. My girls are very experienced, I make too much milk and have over active let down at times, so I wouldn't worry about the leaking or not. Its all normal.
My update: I had another level II u/s this week. I'm 22w. Baby weighed in at a pound. I have a 2 vessel cord which puts him at risk for heart and kidney defects, but they said it all looks good. The placenta is still completely over my cervix. So the peri told me my vacation (camping in the Adirondack Mountains 90 minutes from a hospital) is out. We need to come up with something else this week before we break it to my five year old that we aren't going.

Thanks for the rea__surance Carol Anne. Sorry about your vacation plans and the reason for having to change your plans. I didn't know that placenta positioning could affect pregnancy this early but there's a lot I'm still learning about pregnancy in general. Good luck finding an alternate vacation plan. BTW I had booked a cruise for week 23/24 and even after I told the rookie travel agent I was pregnant they gave me an itinerary, then the cruiseliner informed us would not allow pregnant women on board after 24 weeks. We moved on to plan B but there was not a 5 year old looking forward to it with us. I hope you'll find something that will be just as exciting for your family that is closer to a hospital (just in case).

I'm due November 23rd. I'm having an Ultrasound 2 tomorrow due to a positive AFP (I'll be 35 in October so it was recommended to me). I also have MTHFR, but I've been taking baby aspirin and B Complex with Folic Acid religiously. Yeah, I'm worried that they'll find out something is horribly wrong, but I'm trying my best to keep a positive att_tude about it. I'm hoping to have a healthy turkey before the turkey is served on Thanksgiving. Then I will have something wonderful to be thankful for on that day.

Hello girls. I am just updating for you all. I had my repeat Level 2 today and it went great. She is measuring right where she should and everything looks fantastic. the main reason I went back was because she was too small last time to get a good pic of the heart, but that is all fantastic as everything else. She is (we verified again that it is a she! LOL)roughly 1 lb. 7 oz and h/b was 131 and she was waving and we got a cute pic! LOL. I still have a low lying placenta and they want me back in 5 weeks to see if it has gone up; not that it matters much since I'm having a section, but I guess if it doesn't move, then it can sometimes cause bleeding later down the road. The ultrasound and high risk doctor I see at the hospital are giving me 11/27 as my edd, which I know is right, makes me 23w/1d today, but my ob has me at 22w. I know they are wrong, so when I see my Ob on Thursday for my regular scheduled visit, I'm going to ask her to please keep my due date since it's only by a week, (they shouldn't have changed it to begin with) and if I can have my section the week of the 13th, so that I will not be in the hospital for Thanksgiving. I will be 38w then, and I am hoping they can deliver me at that time. I am doing great and feeling great. I can't believe I am almost 6 months; that we all are!! Only the last trimester to go ladies!! I don't know about you all, but I can't wait!! I am already tired of being pregnant and can't wait to see my daughter. I am hoping for a big fat baby!! LOL. You all take care of yourselves and stay hydrated!! I saw on the news some 7-month pregnant woman at the Red Sox game died they say due to heat exhaustion, but her baby lived. How terribly sad. Drink that water and stay out of the heat for long periods of time!! See you later girls........XO

Hey Mel
We have the same due date. I have complete placenta previa, so am also looking at potential bleeding. I will also have a section even if the placenta moves up as I have had 2 sections all ready.
Glad your u/s looks good. I also go back in 5 weeks.
I just thought I'd say to someone who has so much in common.

Mel, MTHFR is a mutated gene that causes a thickening of the blood (causes clots, strokes, heart attacks..ect.). The disorder also has a problem acknowledging folic acid, so in turn that is why I was told to start taking folic acid and baby aspirin. The way my genetic counselor explained it was like this..."When the Scottish/English war was going on and limbs were flying everywhere, they clotted the nubs and went on fighting. After so long, their genes mutated and was pa__sed down through generations to me." He's a kick in the pants and always makes me feel better after I talk to him. I just hope that he will have good news for me today.

Hi perl and everyone. Angle: I too have MTHFR (the hetro kind) and protein S def. among other vulnerabilities for Thombophilia. Im' also on Lovenox (low molecular heprin). Please make sure your doctor and the sonographer look for clots in the placenta and that the U-cord has positve blood flow, etc. I'm also on the Foliguard (4k of folic acid), baby asprin and prenatal. Perl: Bummer about the cruise...man, it's hard to believe we are all soon past 24-weeks. It seems a bit extreme to ban women after that age, but, hey.......it's all about liablity, I guess. We are looking for something to do over the labor day weekend...don't want to take that day "too" literally, though. I'm now just thinking, "stay in, stay in." Hope all the rest of you are well....

Well, I had the Ultrasound II and my doctor said everything looked great and that he's not concerned at all. I was soooo glad to hear it. The risk level for DS went from 1/199 to 1/400. He set up one more ultrasound for the end of this month since they weren't able to get a very good shot of the baby's lips and nose, but from what I saw in the Ultrasound I'd say SHE looked beautiful no matter what. Yep, having a girl. =)

Well, I saw my ob and she is not moving the due date. She is stil going by e.d.d. of 12/3 due to my 7-week ultrasound when they changed it from 11/27 originally. Oh well, I can't fight her on it. She's the freakin doctor. I actually got a call this morning from the hospital and my section date is 11/27 at 7:30 a.m.; that's if I don't go into labor before that! I hope not, because she is going away to Canada the week of Thanksgiving and I will have some strange doctor have to section me. So I am hoping I make it until then or I will be SO PISSED with her for not changing my dates, when I just know that I am right!! PFFTT. LOL. Everything went great at the check up baby was at 151 and measured at 23 for the fundal height and I'm doing great. Only gained 2 lbs. in these last two weeks, so that was alot better than 3 or 4 that I've averaged in the past!!! LOL I also go in 2 weeks for a 1-hour glucose screen (since I pa__sed the 3-hour already before) and 8/29 to have another ultrasound to check if my placenta has moved up at all. I sure hope it does!! I don't want any bleeding in my pregnancy later down the road. CAROLANNE~how old are your other 2 children? I had an emergency section with my 7-year old son, so I've been there before. Do you know what you're having? Yes, this placenta thing sucks and I pray for both of us that it moves up out of the way!! I am also having a planned section as you just read due to the fact I've had one already in the past and my ob does not perform Vbacs. Oh well. At least where it's scheduled maybe I won't be as nervous and things will go smoothly. Since you have two already, lol, is it true that the second one you heal faster than the first? Goodness, I hope so!! I was so hoping to have her before Thanksgiving too :( but that's o.k., I can enjoy the holiday in no pain(providing she doesn't come sooner)and have her the week after :) ANGEL~I also take baby aspirin daily but it's because I had preeclampsia last time and I believe that has something to do with the placenta too. I'm happy to hear that your ultrasound went great and that you're having a girl!! Congrats to you!! Well, off for now. Everyone have a great weekend!! XO

good news mel...glad girlie is doing well. I am still shooting for a VBAC. I am with high risk docs and they are all for it. I am not opposed to another section if I need one though. Take care...

Thanks Mel. I hope everything works out for you. I don't blame you a bit for not wanting a "strange" doctor, but sadly I have to go through that, but that's okay with me since it's a women's hospital. I'm still afraid to go natural since my last one was a c-section. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons...like for instance..do I want to go through hours of labor and be done with it after delivery, or do I want to go through the extremely painful epidural and recover from surgery for the next 6 weeks. I'll probably end up with an epidural no matter what. I haven't told my doctor what I want to do yet. Anybody else going through the same fear? lol

Hello Ladies, hope all is well with each of you. We only have about 2 1/2months to go or a little longer for some but we are in the last trimester stage(hooray). Angelswim why do you think it takes longer to heal wiith an epidural? I have 2 kids already with the 1st i had an epidural and with the 2nd i did not, both v____al deliveries and the healing process was both the same. I think if that sometimes the epidural can cause back pains; which may make the healing process a little longer, but i had no problems at all. Beleive me when the pains go to hitting you you may scream for a epidural so let your doctor know that you may want one so that they will an ant_thesisoligolist on duty.

Hi everyone. Long time no post! It's hot, the kids are home a lot more, I have been working a lot harder... and oh yeh... there is a WAR in my country. I am in Jerusalem, so thank G-d not feeling it as much as the people 2 hours to the north of us. I am a little wired today, since I went to bed at 2:30 am (unfortunately normal), woke up at 6:30 and then had my glucose sugar test, so cant tell if this is a sugar hi or low - whatever, must sleep now. How are we entering 3rd trimester if we are only started 6th month? Or are we not. I just go by the weeks. To tell the new people, I am due Nov 30th/Dec 2nd so around 24 weeks now? My level 2 u/s came back good and I decided against amnio despite elevated numbers for ds. I dont know what it is, but have it written in envelope which is 5 inches from me now.. Have had it for about a month. How is that for self control!! SPeak to you soon...
