CHRISTA~Hang in there and don't get too depressed just yet. You may pa__s the 3-hour like me. I wish you the best of luck, and thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only smelly one here. LOL. Well, off for bed. We are going away tomorrow night for Labor Day weekend up North Conway. I'll be back Monday. I hope everyone have a safe and healthy weekend and I will read the posts when I get back. Take care all...XO

Still no news from my glucose test. I'd expect to hear by the end of the day or early next week if there is a problem. Odor? I've noticed a different smell certain days. I'm sure I'd notice it alot more if it wasn't summer time though. But, every year at summer time is when I go to extremes to stop moisture to prevent the awful itchy yeast infections I used to get--I use "Summer's eve" wipes a couple times a day, bikini wax often and sprinkle monistat powder on every day. If it was winter time I'd probably be showering twice a day too though. Forgot to mention: on my last "emergency" visit to my OB's office she gave me a booklet with charts for me to fill in every day. Since I'm at week 28 now I need to start counting baby's movements at his busiest time of day--counting at least 10 movements within that hour. I'm supposed to rush to a hospital if I don't get at least 10 movements on any given day at baby's busy time of the day. I thought that was interesting since I heard that movements slow down a bit as the baby gets bigger (there's less room for him to move). Anyway, so far so good. **Have a nice, safe trip MellyMel!! I wanted to go to San Francisco this weekend, but they're closing the Eastbound part of the bridge and traffic could be a mess trying to get back home so we'll just stay in the area and go to the State Fair. Happy Labor day to all of you in the US and great weekends to everyone!!

Well, I just finished my 3 hr GTT. Suprisingly all around me survived my being not able to eat...LOL...as a public service I try to make sure that doesn't happen. I am also still at about 14 pounds give or take a few ounces. I haven't gained any (even lost a couple of ounces) from last appt....PERL...how are the protein drinks coming along?

Christa: congrats on being done with the grueling 3 hour gtt. I hope you pa__s! I did not hear a peep from my Dr's office about my glucose test so I'm pretty sure that means good news. About the protein shakes. I've not been spending too much time at home and so not able to make too many of my own shakes. But I found a frozen yogurt & creamery place near where I've been working recently where I've been getting 1/2 chocolate yogurt and 1/2 vanilla yogurt shakes mixed with non-fat milk. It's as close as I can get to a protein shake when I'm on the run. I should take them some protein powder and ask them to add it in my shakes but I'm feeling good and have gained another pound already.

I'm back. I had a fabulous weekend!! CHRISTA~good luck on your GTT. At least you've got that over with now. It sucks fasting for that doesn't it!! I was so hungry when I got out of mine. PERL~no news is good news!!! I'm glad you are putting on some weight with those drinks too. I'm trying to take some off!! LOL. In regards to the baby count, my doctor gave me a form that says to count 10 within a 2-hour period. Are you sure it's 1-hour? Maybe doctors are different? Although I would think something like that would be the same all around. We do like the name Hannah alot, so we shall see. KRISTEN~Happy Belated Birthday girlfriend!!! What an extra special birthday this was for you huh! I'm so glad we have all reached out third trimester. I am in it now right? LOL. I should be at 27w/3d, so that means I am in my 28th week right Kristen? LOL. Another thing, when I check to see what my baby's developments are this week, do I look at week 27 or 28? By the way, I'm starting to feel c___ppy lately. I knew I couldn't feel great forever. I am having some lower back/tailbone pain and some ligament pain when I walk. I guess the belly is really growing now! Talk to you ladies later. I'm off to jump on my treadmill for a bit.....xo

Hi Ladies!! Mel~Yes you are in your third trimester and at 27 weeks 3 days you are in your 28th week. I tend to look at info for both..I like to think ahead that I am even further along than I am in a way..because as far as medical way of counting it is true lol. I started my 30th week this week.. technically I am 29w 1 day but if someone asks I proudly remark 30 weeks! Truly though 10 weeks to go..yikes! I don't have a name for either s_x yet :(. I have my crib and my change table/dresser. I ordered a chair from the states which is a slip cover and glider upholstered chair in one. I am getting it as a present for my birthday. Oh BTW. Thankyou for the b-day wishes Mel. I too have started to feel kinda c___ppy. I have been battling tension type migraines for 3 weeks :((((..and it is driving me nuts. My doc prescribed my tylenol 2's with codeine but I doubt I will take them. I was hoping my doc would give me some advice on how to get rid of the pain naturally...Oh well. I have also been uncomfortable sleeping lately :(. My baby shower has been set for Oct 15th. I am almost embara__sed to say how many women have been invited...almost 70. It was not my choice as the party is being thrown by my MIL..and most of the people are her friends and family. I have about 10-12 people from my side. For a little bombonier I was thinking of baking sugar cookies and icing them to look like little babies in a diaper and then wrapping them in a celephane baggy with a little ribbon to give to the guests. My MIL is making lots of Greek dishes for the shower. My Mom will bring a couple dishes also..but they will be salads and things that do not need to be frozen or refridgerated long as my mom does not have the room. On Friday I have my hospital registration and tour..I will look into some sort of prenatal cla__s too. Hope you are all well...and Congratulations to everyone for making it this far with their pregnancies. This is just such a miracle having a baby and I thank God everyday for this opportunity! XO Kristin

What a releif!!!! So 1st draw...fasting was 78, 2nd drawn 1 hr after drink was 188 (too high, failed thatone), 3rd drawn 2nd hr- 133 pa__sed! 4th drawn 3 rd was 56 (too low but pa__sed) Don;t know why it was so low but who cares! I pa__sed. I am probably hypoglycemic which I have always suspected as I can not go without eating or else everyone around me will pay LOL. I do become a bit on the b___hy side to say the least. I can not tell you how happy I really am that I pa__sed. I have eaten nothing but c___p since...LOL making up for lost time!

Christa: Congratulations on pa__sing th 3 hour! You must be relieved. Just be careful with you sugar intake in the next couple of months! I have been told that access insulin from too much sugar can cause increased amniotic fluid to form and in turn can cause preterm labour or an earlier induction. (it happened to my neigbour who had to be induced 3 weeks ago). I pa__sed my 1 hour but still think when I am eating alot of sweets I could be pushing the insulin limit. Again, I am happy you pa__sed!

Mel: Last night and today I'm really feeling the pain in my lower back too. Probably wishful thinking but I'm hoping it's just a combination of yesterdays workout plus housecleaning and decorating for harvest & Thanksgiving. I figured I'd decorate slightly early since I may not feel up to it in a few weeks. Usually it takes me 4 hours to clean the entire house and I only did 1/2 of it in almost the same amount of time. I'm moving slowly and running out of steam--hoping I'll get a burst of energy again soon. About my fetal movement booklet . . . I'm suppposed to count once a day every day at a time when baby is usually active and if I don't feel 10 movements in that one hour period then I'm to call my doctor "immediately". My OB really over-emphasized this for me. She told me not to wait--not even one hour if baby movements slow down or stops. Maybe your charting book is different (2 hours vs 1) because I'm only counting in one of the most active hours of the day? Were you told to check all day long in 2 hour sections? Maybe that's the difference. Christa: CONGRATULATIONS on pa__sing the test!!! Go ahead and get your fill of the good stuff for a bit. I'd do the same thing too : ) but don't forget to get back to balanced meals (carbs & proteins) soon! You have some big fluctuations there and sounds like you get "spontaneous hypoglycemia." I have it too--not fun! It means I have to eat a meal or snack every two hours and can't go anywhere without a stash of nuts or an energy bar or at least some candy or animal crackers with me. I'm guessing you probably have to do the same thing. Kristin: belated Happy Birthday!! A glider is an excellent and very useful gift. Reminds me that I need one too and will ask for it as advance gift for my b-day in November.

Forgot to mention: baby begins his evening movements between 8:15 and 8:25 pm. after my dinner and dessert. Very punctual baby! I know all our babies are different so this is not for comparison but in case anyone's curious, I'm counting 12- 27 movements even through the placenta acting as a cushion for me. I'm pretty sure I felt a sommersault last night (my belly was sticking up on the right side it made my dh laugh to see me lopsided) I hope this means baby has moved out of his breech position and is finally head down. He gets a little more active sometimes a bit later but it's too late and I'm too tired to count at 10 pm or 4 am.

KRISTIN~Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure I was in my 28th week. Sorry to hear about the headaches, that must suck. I had them early in pregnancy, but who knows, they may come back later down the road. CHRISTA~Congratulations!! I told you not to fret just yet. So many woman fail the 1-hour and pa__s the 3-hour that sometimes I don't know why they even give the 1-hour! So happy that we all pa__sed. Have you heard yet Perl? We are hoping you pa__sed too!! Also, the chart says any time of the day 10 movements within 2 hour period, so who knows. I don't care, because she gives me that in like 10 minutes on some days! LOL. I know what you mean about the exhaustio and out of breath. I can not do nearly what I use to do in the house without a hard time breathing. Hubby gets p__sed off at me, because I am so use to it and think I'm a machine, but forget how easily I get breathless now. He has been great doing extra around the house and everything else that I can't do. My son has been doing more too. They are both so great. I love them to pieces!! My son reads at night to his baby sister and sometimes sings songs to her; it's the cutest thing. Sometimes I sing(GOD help her) to her too! LOL. They say they can hear our voices now. :) My baby is very active in the mornings it seems after breakfast and after supper time. She is very active at bed time, but not as much as during the day. Maybe that will be a good thing!!! LOL. Well, off to work. Today is my last day at this temp job and back to looking again. At least I can reopen my claim and collect until/if the agency finds me something else. Bye ladies...XO Happy Friday!!! I"m doing the Friday dance!!!!!!

Mel: No news on the glucose test so I'm a__suming (I hope) I pa__sed!! I will confirm with my OB at my next 3-week prenatal check (next Wednesday). About counting. . .sounds like my medical group is being overly cautious with the 1 hour counts. Last night I counted 40 movements in 50 minutes--that was a record. I think it was because I went to the gym much later than usual (from 4:30 to 5:30) then I had dinner/dessert and counted right after that while I was resting. I've heard that our babies often move more after meals, after hearing loud noises, right after a rush of physicial activity and when we are at rest. I did all of that last night just before counting. **** Have a great weekend everyone--I hope our bodies are good to us and that we and our babies have a smooth, healthy weekend. ****Where are our other November mommies? HAPPYGAL & ANNISHEL: where are you? How are you doing?

Congrats alex! I know how scary it feels to have a preemie since I had my first at 7 months. She was 2lbs. 6 oz. when she was born. She had to spend two months in the hospital. But now, she's a healthy, tall, big footed, and very smart 10 year old. It's amazing what the doctors can do now a'days. So, don't worry. =)
