Congrats alex! I know how scary it feels to have a preemie since I had my first at 7 months. She was 2lbs. 6 oz. when she was born. She had to spend two months in the hospital. But now, she's a healthy, tall, big footed, and very smart 10 year old. It's amazing what the doctors can do now a'days. So, don't worry. =)

Thanks angelswim for the words of encouragement. and yes technology is so amazing and GOD is super good i know it won't be long before she comes home. i guess i should enjoy being off work and able to get rest because i know when Kennedy comes home she is going to keep me on my feet. I'm going to see her in the morning the hospital she is in is almost 2hrs away from where i leave so i look forward to holding my bundle of joy on tomorrow. Well all of you ladies should be in your count down stage, which is less than 9wks or some are sooner. Have any of you had babyshowers yet? Mine was planned for Sept. 30th so we will still have it at that time. Talk to you guys later!

My 30 week prenatal visit was today. The baby sounded fine and my Dr. could tell by touching my belly that the baby is no longer in breech position. He's still measuring 2 cm big but OB said it was insignificant and once again stated that my dh is a big man so that may be the reason. She compared my baby movement count chart with the average for the majority of her patients. Average is about 10 counts in 15 minutes--we're doing fine there too. My glucose levels were fine at 112 (yaay! ) but I'm anemic. : ( Dr said it's a common problem, but then proceeded to tell me that it's time to stop all volunteer work, hire a housekeeper, get dh to do the grocery shopping and limit my shopping trips to about 45 minutes, etc. etc. I was extremely low on energy today when I went in to see my Dr. and I'm sure she noticed it and think this is why she said what she said. If I was not so darned sleepy during my appointment I would have asked more questions. I need to put more iron in my diet. On the upside, Dr is "happy" with my weight now (still below average but not as drastically low as 3 weeks ago). Overall, a good visit except for that anemia part. : (

KRISTIN: one thing I can continue doing is my workouts at the gym but I was told to stop as soon as I feel that belly-hardening feeling which for me comes at about the 20-30 minute mark. I can continue with light weightlifting though no belly problems when I do that. ANGELSWIM: it's good to hear a rea__suring story about your preemie now 10 year old HAPPYGAL: Aalex broke the news that her baby girl was born two months early (her due date was in the first week of November but baby came last week! ) Check out her message on the thread for November moms and baby names. Amazing stuff!

Dearest November Mommies - just wanted to say congrats to you all for reaching your 3rd trimester and I'm so excited for you! Aalexand - CONGRATULATIONS! WOW! AMAZING! Good luck to you and Kennedy. Well done! I'm plodding along in the First Trimester again (remember those days!! LOL!!!) but am very happy, much more relaxed than last time and can't wait to get to 2nd Trimester at the start of November (just before my EDD for Bean#1 so that will be very rea__suring!) I'll be reading this thread for your news so keep it coming!

Hi Mel, Thanks for asking about the headaches...I still have the headaches..it has been 4 weeks :P. My doctor finally prescribed me tylenol2's with codeine..but I have not taken any yet..I have been sufffereing. The last week the pain had gotten worse when I lay down..especialy on my left like we are suppose to lie..when I'd try and move it feels like I am weighted on the base of my skull to the left as well. The good thing now is they are more managable during the day. The nurse at my prenatal a__sessment clinic told me to take the tylenol 2's because I need to break the cycle of the headache. She told me these migraine type tension headaches will not get better on their own...and at this stage have become chronic. I am still cautious about taking medication..but may consider taking one if it becomes unbearable again. ~~Sounds like your showers will be great..I like the idea of smaller scale things..they are easier to handle mentally while pregnant. My shower is big..it is almost embara__sing and slightly overwhelming..but I am just rolling with the punches and am thankful for this special day she is planning. I am looking for ideas for party favours for the guests to take home...if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I was thinking of making cookies shaped and iced like babies with a diaper on and wrapping them witha cellophane bag and ribbon..but I don't know if I can make them look professional enough. My MIL suggested this place that has little jewellery trinkets for $2..like broaches and pendents etc. I haven't seen what they look like. I told my mom about the trinket thing and she kindof thought it was not a good idea..so who know's. We are renting tables and will probably buy paper plates and decorations with a baby theme..but I guess I will have to find those..I will try and source them out beforehand. Perl~ sorry to hear about the anemia..I had that once before when I wasn't pregnant..but I think it corrected itself soon enough. Just remember to increase your drk green veggies, red meat, and milk type products..if indeed you do eat those items.~~As far as b___st changes go..I just notice them looking alittle bigger, still sensitive around the nipple region and they ahve darkened. I have heard the darkening is permanent. I guess the darkening is so the baby can hit the bullseye when eating. The blotchiness you described doesn sound like extra blood flow. I am nervous about the whole b___stfeeding thing..my nipples are so sore now and they haven't even been working..I just hope I can bare the pain when baby comes. Anyway, I am off to source out some more shower ideas to help the MIL...take care and talk to you all soon. P.S. Aalex update us on baby Kennedy..how are you feeling? Hope she is getting stronger by the day. Happygal~ how are you doing? And WELCOME BACK HOPEFUL!!!! I am just so happy for you!! Ciao girls!!!

AALEX: Oops somehow I missed your last post (I must have been typing already while you were posting). Baby Kennedy is two hours away? That's a long distance--were you away from home when you went into labor or did they transport her away to get the best NICU care? Anyway, so happy for you that you get to hold your baby today. I look forward to hearing more on her progress. About baby showers. . . I'll bet your guests will all be surprised to hear that your baby has already arrived by Sept 30th. Someone I know had her baby shower the same day she went into labor--the baby shower happened without her being there. : ) My baby shower is also on Sept 30th. I'm bringing sc___pbook pages of my baby's ultrasound photos to the shower. You (Aalex) can actually bring real pictures of your baby to your baby shower since hardly anyone is ever allowed to visit a baby in NICU.

Perl - September 15

MEL: I didn't want a baby shower either. No one listened to me either. My friends said the shower is for the baby not for me and it was happening with or without me and if I wanted to show up I could. ha ha! : ) I'm looking forward to it now. Yes, I'm happy I don't have gd even though the anemic part is no fun--I hate the c___ppy tired feeling. No way will I give up going to the gym even if I can't walk the treadmill, I'll still do the stretching and weightraining part to workout my arms and legs. About b___b blotchiness. . .thought I saw a little but of bluish color for a day or two but it went away. I have not felt ANY soreness or growth in my b___bs since 1st trimester. I hope the milk factory has not stopped working. KRISTIN: yesterday I bought some steaks and ground sirloin. Veggies and dairy are always in my fridge--I'll just have to make sure I eat them. Have you done a trial run with the cookies? You might surprise yourself and make a great-looking cookie. My friends have not allowed me to do or spend anything so far so I insisted that I buy the shower favors as my little gift back to every guest. I was (am still) considering buying prepared sugar cookie dough and baking baby carriage shaped cookies. Also, I know this is not very original, but I ordered some palm sized tin boxes filled with mint candies. Each box has a sticker on the outside personalized with a cute design, my due date and name. I'll be wrapping them in a little organza bag and maybe throwing in a little round magnet with various baby themed sayings and pictures. I figured that almost everyone uses breath mints and magnets so it's a favor that won't get thrown away. I only ordered 30 and my friend who sent the invites is telling me that people I expected to rsvp no are rsvping yes. So I have to start thinking of something else (too late to order more mint tins) just in case more than 30 show up. HOPEFUL: it's great hearing from you again and thanks for the congratulations--the countdown has definitely begun. Yes, I clearly remember waiting watchfully for that 13th week to come--you'll be there before you know it and you'll do a happy dance when you get there.

I'm so excited. I just found out that I don't have gd. I took the one hour and failed, but my 3 hour came back normal. I was so relieved! As for baby showers...I'm not going to have one either. My sister and cousin were supposed to get one together, but they flaked out on me. Would it be wrong to throw your own shower? haha. eh well. =)

Perl - September 15

Angelswim: congratulations on pa__sing the gd test, that's great news!!! Maybe your cousin & sis will come around back to planning the shower, there's still time. Don't feel bad though, I have two sisters and they are the biggest flakes (and too busy with their very dramatic lives), but they didn't even offer to plan or help with a baby shower--at least yours did. Thank God for good friends--my old friends have through the years been more supportive and generous and lovable than my own sisters. Up until a couple of months ago I thought about having a "welcome home baby" party or an "open house" a couple weeks after the baby is born. I was planning to have an afternoon with appetizers and desserts and invite people over to the house to see the baby and nursery. I wasn't going to call it a shower or mention anything about registries but knowing my friends they would have shown up with gifts or at least diapers anyway--just an idea, maybe you could go with it.

Perl - September 15

I meant to say maybe you could go with that idea (open house or welcome baby party instead of baby shower).
