I am 17 weeks, Had level 2 sonogram today. Everything looks good. Bone in nasal, and nuchal fold 2.9.. Measurements were normal. Haven't decided on amino yet, Not sure which risk is to my advanage, Should I still be worried. I am 45 years old.

Hi kathykile, Glad to hear your level 2 sonogram went well. 2.9 is on the high side of screen negative result which puts you in a pa__s category....And because of your age the reading can be considered quite good. My doctor told me anything lower than 3.5 is good. Under 3.0 is quite good. If all other soft markers seem good and your doctor does not recommend amnio than ofcourse it would be a personal choice. Personally if I was 45 and I am not far behind..I would opt for amnio because I would like to rule out all possibilities for downs, trisomy and other gentically inherited disorders. But it truly is a matter of choice I would way in on your doctor discuss your advantages and disadvantages...he/she will be able to advise you best!!. I wish you best of luck!! Kristin

Thank you for your encouragement. My husband and I decided to think for a few more days, and Friday will be the day we decide. I am thinking not to go with amino. Not sure I want to risk miscarriage. But also not sure if I can not worry the rest of the pregnancy either. I will just pray for the wright decision.
