SANN: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! O my gosh, this is it, this is definitely IT!!! I'm soooo excited for you. When I was first tested other than my own hpt it was by the nurse at my allergy specialist's office--it was basically the same urine test that I did except that she dipped the pregnancy test stick in the urine sample. Then the following week, because of my history and because I was cramping right after I got my bfp, they did an earlier u/s at 6w6d. My blood tests were one week later: my doctor did not check the hormone levels because here they only do that if the woman has had 3 or more miscarriages but I know it's a routine check for many other women even on their first pregnancy. They mainly checked my blood type and for other routine things like red/white blood cell count, tuberculosis, HIV, hepatatis, etc. plus a glucose test for me. I would imagine and hope that they keep a closer watch on you Sann given your history. Congratulations again!!! Give your baby all the rest and food that he/she needs right now but enjoy the moment!!! When is your u/s?******Tryingx3: my friend and her husband had a baby a couple of months ago and when I went to visit two days after her c-section, they were still debating names at the hospital, can you believe that?! It's not easy choosing the right name. : ) Yeah, I'd paint the trim in your baby's nursery if you have the time for it. You could try to match the baby's furniture or just paint it a totally different contrasting color. I'm trying to choose a wall color myself. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies!!!! Congrats again Sann!

Sann - our posts overlapped somehow!! You must have been submitting as I was typing! CONGRATULATIONS! Perl and I have been hoping this would be it!! :-) I'll bet you are too tired to sleep! For me, due to history, they went ahead and did hcg and progesterone...then scheduled me for a regular history appointment and did rest of blood work then. I did a repeat hcg 2 days after pg confirmed to make sure it was doubling...then did repeat progresterone 1 week later to see if it was increasing.

Perl - my wall color is called Ess_x green - I think - it is kind of a toned down kelly green - light like a lime, but not really limey...if you know what I mean. I used red, yellow, green in the room instead of traditional baby colors. I made the curtains using a stripe with all the colors and a pattern overtop red with dragonflies. She should definitely be able to grow into the room. Just used solid yellow on the baby bed.

Hi ladies .... Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm still in shock however am a little worried too cos I've been having some cramps, it's not painful or anything ... you just know it's there. The nausea and burping had just started to kick in ... no actual m/s yet though. And my energy level has gotton low ... I've been feeling sleepy in ther afternoons since last Friday. Well, the only thing that's stable are temps (which is very different from the last pg). Anyway, I have an appt on Thursday with my ob/gynae ... lets as just hope she won't have another emergency and cancel on me again. Thanks for the info, ladies .. now I have an idea what she'll be testing for. And we would be ecstatic if we see a heart beat on Thursday, now we are cautious happy. Strange isn't ... I seem to have forgotten what I've learnt (about pregnancy and stuff) from all these mths. PERL .... sounds like you're busy at work with nursery already. Are you going with the traditional blue theme for boys? TRYINGX3 ... Wowww, you guys got everything picked out in a weekend. Oh! the nursery sounds so pretty and colourful. So the name game is still going on, hah! Thanks so much again TTYL

Whoops ... I meant to say "cautiously happy"

tryingx3 - August 21

It's okay to be "cautiously happy" - you will probably stay that way through the entire pregnancy! I know I did a lot of "if things work out"...now it is "when... ". :-) It is okay to feel a little crampy too...STUFF is going on down there and you are probably extremely conscious of it. I felt fetal movement at 15wks and a lot of people said it was too early especially for my 1st pg to know...but I KNOW it was - something I had never felt before and it kept happening!

Sann: about the cramps. . . . I had cramping a couple of weeks before I was supposed to get my period which was my first clue that something different was going on (I only used to cramp the day that my period would begin) and then again cramping came back about a week after my period was due and stayed for several weeks after that. I kept thinking (and checking) to see if I was bleeding but I never did. I think it was just things beginning to move and stretch in there so don't let it worry you too much. I read on your other post you've got your orders to stay home and rest for 2 weeks which is good. Whatever you do, remember DO NOT use a heating pad and don't take any hot baths; sleep as much as you can. I'm still very excited for you!!! : ) *****Trying: you sound very creative. Red, yellow and green sound like great colors. I'm like you and wanted to create a room that could last at least a few years so I tried to think more "little boy" rather than "little baby". To answer your question Sann, the nursery bedding and accessories have lots of happy animals so lots of colors (green, red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, blue) but the main background colors are tan, ivory and blue.

Sann - I also experienced an almost achey feeling really low - for SEVERAL weeks...my placenta was low until sometime near week 20...may have been that...I wore a maternity support belt most of my 1st and 2nd pg and it made me feel more supported...also was told it could encourage the placenta to shift where it was not covering cervix.

COL - August 21

Hello ladies, sorry to intrude, I know this thread for pregnant women, and I am not : ) : ) : ) just one question for Perl, if you don’t mind. In one of your posts, you wrote (I had cramping a couple of weeks before I was supposed to get my period which was my first clue that something different was going on (I only used to cramp the day that my period would begin) my question is, the cramps you felt 2 weeks before your period, was it a one time deal, or it was continuous through until you got your BFP. Because for the last 4 cycles, I had this, and I am sure its not my body is playing tricks on me, the cramps starts immediately after my Ovulation. My ND thinks that I do get fertilization but no implantation. Sorry again to divert the conversation to this direction. Thanks .

Perl - August 21

Hi COL: My cramping was not continuous. To be specific, my dh and I did the baby dance on Feb 26th; my most fertile ovulation day was Feb 27th; then just a couple of days after that I got some cramping that lasted only a couple of days then the cramping stopped until later on after I got the bfp. AF was due on March 13th. I started cramping again around March 22nd and that cramping lasted several weeks. Prior to my bfp and even prior to my miscarriage last year, my cycles were very regular---AF every 26-28 days with cramping only on day 1 of AF. The cramping used to start and within 15-30 minutes AF was here that's why the early cramping clued me in. Also I had just started to focus on getting pregnant again after the m/c so I think I was more in tune with my body and maybe feeling more that I would have ignored if I was not ttc (possibly). What does your ND think is the cause of the cramping? Implantation causes bleeding so it could cause cramping too I would think. I've read that some women feel cramping while they ovulate too. Sounds like your ND might be saying the cramping is from fertilzation? What do your instincts tell you is the cause of your cramping? *** BTW, I'm sure no one here thinks you're intruding. We're all here for each other and I'm glad to answer your question and offer support. And, like Sann who just got her good news, your happy day will come too COL!

COL - August 21

You are so sweet Perl, thank you so much for your answer. My ND thinks that I might be having hard time during implantation, which means that the fertilized egg (in simple words) : ) : ), tries to stick but it fails. That’s why I get the cramps, but I do not get pregnant. But still, nothing to prove that. I like your argument about getting in tune with your body. Maybe this is the case with me, maybe I had these cramps before TTC, but I never notice, since I never pay attention. That’s a very valid comment Perl. Oh by the way, I like the name Peter, its one of my favorites. I am sure you can’t wait to meet him. Again , thanks for the kind words. TTYL

SANN - August 22

Hello ladies : ) COL ... so nice to see you here, intruding ... definitely not. PERL & TRYINGX3 ... Thanks so much again : ) I had some brown spotting (only when wipe) this morning, lasted for about 2 hours or so ..... scared the daylights out of me. Well, I think .... I'm fine cos no painful cramps or anything of that sort. I will ask my ob/gynae about it on Thursday. Oh!!!! The nausea is sure here and the acid reflux ....is painful alright. Is it normal to feel these acid refluxes and nausea this early??? I don't recall having them this early. Still feeling really sleepy ... been in bed almost the whole day today : ) How's everyone doing : ) TTYL

Perl - August 22

Col: has your ND offered any solutions (are any available) to help the implantation along? I wish you all the best and please feel free to stay and chat with us some more here if you're up to it. *** Sann: spotting is normal--even better when it's brown spotting, you probably had a little bit of implantation bleeding. Good to hear you're getting some rest or trying to at least. : ) I don't remember getting acid reflux early on but it doesn't mean it's not normal for you. I do remember that I started burping a lot pretty early on but my acid reflux didn't come until later. ***I only slept 3 hours last night and not much more than that the night before so I'm so exhausted right now. If it's not low back pain it's very strong baby kicks (and a throbbing feeling) keeping me awake. I'm going to go try to get some sleep.

tryingx3 - August 22

COL - no intrusion on us! :-) I cramped around ovulation time - I would notice it if we were out walking or something like that...I also had "colon spasms"...before pg and wondered if sometimes it wasn't that! SANN - brown blood is "old" blood and happens sometimes...Perl - sorry you are not sleeping. My aches and pains actually got better around 30 wks...maybe yours will too. Of course, that could mean my body has stopped getting ready and she is planning on staying in there for a LONG LONG TIME! ha ha I think I have a sore throat - trying to ignore it! Blood work all came back fine.

COL - August 22

Thank you ladies for your nice words. Perl, my ND offered Acupuncture, so I am doing that twice a month, once before O and one after. This is my 3rd month. I am still hoping that might work. Sann, I am no expert, but I think Perl and Trying x3 knows what they are talking about, so don’t worry about the spotting, and try to relax. TTYL

tryingx3 - August 22

Hey ladies - I kind of thought my stomach looked like it had dropped a little this morning...even did the rest my arms on my tummy move to see if it "felt" different - wasn't sure. A lady that sees me every day said - hey, it kind of looks like you have dropped a little...so...hmmm...maybe I have. I don't feel any additional pressure low or going to bathroom anymore frequently.
