Perl - your husband sounds remarkably like mine! ha ha It was QUICK labor and her 2nd - so at least they had some idea....they thought it was pretty neat after all was said and one. I am beginning to worry about SANN!!

About Sann. . .I'm worried too. Her doctor's orders were for bedrest so maybe that means no easy access to computer??***Sann where are you?

tryingx3 - August 30

Oh - I missed the bedrest portion somewhere! Hopefully she is just sleeping. :-)

Hello ladies ... I just want to check in and say hi. Yes ... it's had been 24/7 bedrest : ) Well .. sound like the both of you are doing fine. I'll write more once I finish reading all your posts : ) TTYL

SANN - thank you for checking in with us! We just wanted to know you are OKAY!! :-)

Sann: glad to hear you're getting your rest. Thanks for responding. Keep on resting!! And don't forget to eat lots of healthy mini meals and snacks throughout the day unless your morning sickness prevents you from eating.

I had to do bedrest in 1st trimester once and found it handy to have some family/friends bring over some easy foods - like chicken salad, pimento cheese, jello salad, things that are quick and easy to fix.

I was not put on bedrest but I spent most my time in bed or sleeping on the sofa. Dh would bring me crackers, juice and yogurt early in the morning and later on I mostly ate eggs, peanut b___ter & jelly sandwiches, cheesesticks and other super easy snacks & foods (like bananas & apples). We also did a lot of takeout food earlier on. Now I'm back to cooking but I make enough to have leftovers for those days when I just feel like sleeping. : ) These days the baby is kicking hard and strong again--I have woken up at 3:30 consistently for 4 days because of strong kicks but I'm not complaining. Trying: will kicking get more or less frequent as time pa__ses? Sann: glad to hear your u/s went well. Still wishing you and baby lots of good positive thoughts!

I was talking about my 1st trimester (in first couple of sentences). Second trimester was awesome--I had lots of energy. Now in my 3rd trimester, I don't feel sick but just really foggy headed and low on energy some days but mostly I feel good.

Perl - as for movement, once I started feeling movement consistently, I would notice "slow" days and "active" days - I still find that to be the case and always tell myself the slow days are the days all of her energy goes to growing! They do say as they get later in the 3rd tri that they have times of deep sleep and wakefulness. Sometimes we wake her up if she has not moved in a while - I'm sure she will pay us back for that! I am starting to get tired again...some days better than others. I have taken almost 2 hour naps each day this weekend. Started feeling a little crampy last night and some lower back pain...I guess things are trying to get started...could be a long 3 weeks...have appt in the morning (tues). Hope all is well with you and Sann.

Trying: I'm started to get really excited and anxious already and getting ready to start the countdown. I hit week 29 this week--11 more weeks! You're much closer than I am so I'll be living through your experience with you as you share so I'll know what I have to look forward to. How did the appointment go for you?? Low back pain and cramping huh? Are they cramps like when AF comes or like round ligament pain or worse than that right now? Sann: I miss you but I'm sooo glad that you have a reason to be sleepy and getting rest right now!! Keep on taking care of yourself.

Sorry, Perl - thought I had updated. No change!! Cervix still showing softening, no dilation. It was like af cramps, I have quite a bit of pressure now above my pubic bone as I guess she is getting further down. Have to pee more which is making me want to drink less...so finding it hard to motivate myself to drink like I should! I have had some round ligament pain on the left, right around my panty line.

I wonder how long Sann has to stay on bedrest...

COL - September 6

Hello ladies, Hope you are doing well. tryingx3, I am wondering too. I am really worried about her. It’s not like her at all to disappear. I hope she is doing well. TTYL

Perl - September 7

Tryingx3: I was hoping round ligament pain would be gone for good but I guess it can come back till the end. : ( Sounds like you're close with cervix softening, but I'm learning in birthing cla__s that it is a process that doesn't always happen as quickly as some of us would like it to near the end. Sann said 2 or 3 weeks of bedrest I think but I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. extended that for her at least during more the first trimester just to be on the safe side. I remember those sleepy tired 1st trimester days and imagine that Sann is just feeling drained and too tired to post any replies. I hope that's it and not anything worse.

I have mixed feelings about 1st trimester bed rest and whether it really changes the outcome, successful or unsuccesful...know what I mean? I don't mean to sound negative, but know it would not have changed the outcome of my first pg. I guess it all depends on what the "problem" is... I can understand bed rest later when there is placenta previa, bp issues, pre-term labor, etc... I do know that if nothing else 1st semester bed rest allows you to know that you have done all you can do and not play the "what if I hadn't gone to work that day"...etc... mind games. As for going fast, I told my husband that I didn't expect ANYTHING to happen fast for us. :-) He is planning a golf outing tomorrow - about 30 minutes away - WHILE I am at work - AT the hospital I plan to deliver at. I told him to go and not to worry!
