thinking of getting basement exterminated, are pesticides dangerous if i stay upstair
for a few days

I had insect extermination when I was 7-8 months pregnant with my first. Waited for 24 hours before coming in (stayed in a separate building). During my second pregnancy I again was exposed to extermination fumes when I was 5 mo pregnant, and I only waited 4 hours before coming in. There's no visible results on both babies, they are healthy, BUT... if I had to do extermination again while pregnant, or even while not pregnant, I would stay away from that for as long as humanly possible. It is just not good for you, though nothing would probably show after one time, the c_mulative effect will result in some kind of a health problem. The less you are exposed to the single incidents, the better your health will be over time.

I would hold off on the extermination. There are so many poisons in modern life (in plastics, gasoline, solvents, carpeting, dry cleaning, etc.) that adding to it is probably not advisable, especially if you are pg. I'm fairly sensitive to indoor pollutants and such and I would say that if you can wait (or find some alternative), I would do so. In The Woods is right- one exposure may not seem like much, but c_mulative exposures might result in problems down the line.

i would hold off on the bas____nt if you can't stay somewhere for a couple of days. There are so many different fumes and pesticides that are harmful.
