I thought it would be fun to start a thread of over 35 mom's to be who are expecting in the fall. I'm 41 with my first pregnancy and only 3 weeks along. I've got few symptoms of pregnancy at this point and of course I have the normal anxiety you would expect of a women in my position. Lets make this a site of random thoughts. What thoughts have been going through your minds with regards to your pregnancy?

Hi countrymom! Congratulations to you! Do you know your due date? I'm 36 and am expecting Baby #3 on November 20. I love being pregnant. I was fortunate with my first two that I never got terrible morning sickness or had any complications. I'm hoping things go smoothly this time too. You mentioned anxiety and I have to tell you I'm experiencing some too. I had my first children at 32 and 34. But, now that I've crossed that 35 line, I'm actually feeling a little nervous about the increased chances of problems for my baby. I never really worried about these things before. But, I keep reminding myself that there are plenty of women in their late 30's and early 40's who have completely healthy children.

Hi WEmommy! I am due on November 27 according to the online baby calendars. I will have my first u/s next week. The anxiety can really get to you. I force myself to think about the happy things when I get to feeling that way. Like won't it be fun to put the baby in one of those cute Christmas outfits this year. I'm thinking about taking up knitting. Might help to relax me doing something repet_tiously like that. Do you have any symptoms yet?

I'm naseaus off and on througouth the day and I am completely exhausted. Just this week my b___sts have started to feel sore. I'm looking forward to the stage where I actually start showing. So, do you knit already or are you thinking of learning how. I always wanted to learn. I suppose I could try to catch up on my sc___pbooking before the baby arrives.

Hello! My husband and I, after 5 years of using no contraceptives, were blessed with the birth of our first daughter together on April 20, 2006. We were both 43 when she was born. She is a healthy almost one-year-old now. In addition, another surprise! I am pregnant AGAIN and due in November. We were not trying to get pregnant nor were we using birth control, either. Therefore, we find ourselves blessed again. I am a bit worried about how I will be able to handle another pregnancy and labor at my age. I am 44. I am also worried about having enough energy to take care of a newborn and a 19 month old in November. I also work full time and I am still nursing my little girl who is not quite one yet. I also have 2 teenage sons, 17 and 14 from a previous marriage. My plate is full that is for sure. Some people may say I am crazy to have more at my age. I must admit that I never thought I would have any more children after my first two. However, I love children and I have always wanted more. They bring so much joy and happiness to my life. In addition, I would rather be a stay home mom and raise children than work full time and have to deal with co-workers. However, I have to work and so I do the best I can. Anyway, enough of all of that. I am pregnant and due in November. Congratulations to all the other pregnant women out there!

Hi all! I've been really busy and just checked back to see if anyone else responded to this thread. Well good news...on Monday I had my first fetal u/s. Wow!! I was shown my little jelly bean and saw the heart beating. It was the most incredible thing. It's one thing to know you are pregnant because of a blood test but it really takes on a new meaning when you see a heartbeat and realize you have this life growing in you. I go in again next week for another u/s. Can't wait! I've been thinking that I will tell my mom and mother in law for Mother's Day that would put me at about 11 weeks or so. Anyone have their first u/s recently. What went through your mind?

Congradulations Country mom- I can't wait to hear my babies heartbeat..... I'll be 36 at the end of the year so I'm hoping I fit on this thread.... I've only been on this forum a couple weeks and some of the threads are down right mean- this one isn't so I think I'd like to stick to it.... I'm not sure exactly when I'm due according to the on-line calendars I'll be due early Nov. I'm approximately 9 weeks as of yesterday.... I'm going to set my first appointment on Mon. for April which will in my eyes get me past the scary part.... I hope everyone is doing great.... Lorie Ann

Is anyone finding themselves thinking with more scrutiny about themselves as a person? I have a long drive home from work and think, okay I've got some things I need to work on because I want to be the best mom I can be. Also, are you guys planning to work or stay home after you deliver? My husband and I have decided I'll stay home but will work on a contract basis occa__sionally. Have a great weekend!

I'm 36 and pregnant with my first... which will be due on about November 10th/11th (going by when I would have conceived, not LMP). I'm surprised that so many of you have had ultrasounds already -- they told me that there was no need because we had "good dates" and my first u/s is scheduled for 11 1/2 weeks (I'm at roughly 8 1/2 weeks now). I would have loved to have children when I was younger but didn't get the chance. My symptoms have been pretty mild, apart from having to eat ALL the time! I'm a bit nauseous this week, and tired on and off, but really, basically fine -- as long as I'm eating, anyway. I had a pa__sing worry about weight gain, but I've decided not to stress about it because I've always been able to maintain a healthy weght without much effort, and I'm eating good food and staying (somewhat) physically active. Good to meet everyone here!

Hi, I'm 37 and due Oct 20 or 21 (depending on which calendar). I was so nervous the first month or so I found I was pg, because I feel like my biological clock is catching up to me, and I won't get many chances to try again if something goes wrong...and I do want one more after this one. The worst nausea has been weeks 9 & 10. I'm 11 wks today, so I'm hoping that will taper off. So glad to be in the expecting mommies club!
