I have been falling pregnant, but then having a period a couple of days later. This has happened 3 times and I'm a mess!! Does anyone know if a low progerterone level could be causing my uterus to shed its lining anyway. I already have 2 children and have not experienced this before. Could it be because I'm older now at 35 or that Im not over the pill?( Im from Australia)

Hi I took progesterone suppositories after having a previous m/c for the whole first trimester, now I'm 31 weeks. I'm 36, I guess age could make a difference unfortunately.

I think you'll be fine, miraclebaby. I was nervous too going off them but every week that went by I felt better! I'll be 37 by the time I deliver. Oh drink a lot of water! I was in the hospital having contractions because I wasn't drinking enough. I thought I was but I wasn't. Everything's ok now but I'm on bedrest going nuts! Good luck!!

A low progesterone level could cause what you are experiencing. Are you confirming your pregnancies with a blood test or an HPT? If not, are you sure your cycles aren't extending naturally? Your doc will be able to check your Progesterone levels after your next ovulation to tell for sure if your levels are too low to maintain a pregnancy.

rk, thanks for the tip , I am sorry your on bed rest , I know that has to be hard Just have to look at the outcome right Congrats to you . Did you have an amnio done or just the ultra sound II ?? I really dont want to have to get an amnio . I am not going to unless he tells me I have to . Now I see how you responded so quickly to me, I am a stay at home mom, I have one boy 14 and I have plenty of time to play on the computer . Hope everything goes well with you.

Miraclebaby, I had the ultrasound II done with the blood test. If I had abnormal results with that then I may have had the amnio. Where are you from? I'm from NJ.

L, I am confirming that i am pregnant with a HPT, each time on the day my period is due. I also felt very pregnant too, which made it worse. I should stop testing, I know that, but now I just want to know whats going on. Thats bugging me more than anything!

I need some advice on Progesterone. My OB prescribed it to jump start my cycle which to date I have not seen in 2 1/2 months. I did a pregnancy test but it was negative. He mentioned that after taking the progesterone for 12 consecutive days my cycle would start approx. one week later. I was also taking Glucophage at the same time. Do you think one is affecting the other? Could the progesterone have further delayed my cycle? I don't know...I've never wished to see AF so much in my life. I am 39 and have been TTC for a little over a year now. Any advice is appreciated.

Miraclebaby, you had mentioned in one of your responses your fear that the placenta might not work right. Since my first trimester screening I have been afraid of the same thing! I had high HCG levels and was told that this could either be a sign of genetic probs (which a CVS test proved to be untrue) or that the placenta may not be working properly. The nurse said that it wasn't such a big deal early on, but could be a prob later. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything looks OK on the 20 week u/s on the 27th of this month.

Girls, if you are having frequent m/cs, make sure you include Antinuclear anti-bodies (ANA) in your blood work. I have just found out that i have these ANAs and its treating the pregnancy as foreign and getting rid of it as your body would a splinter. Waiting for more blood results to rule out autoimmune diseases, but if they are clear, i can be treated with drugs so i can have a pregnancy.Progesterrone may not be the problem.
