I had to take Prometrium (pill form), looks like a tiny egg. I took it from about 6 weeks to 12 weeks. I'm sorry I don't remember the mg. I am 27 weeks now.

I started taking 200mg progesterone pills once a day at about 5 weeks and have been upped to twice a day for the past 3 weeks due to abnormal bleeding. Everything is going well and I've finally reached 13 weeks and expect to stop the progesterone soon.

I miscarried in late April. I am 45 yrs. old and trying to get pregnant. My OB-GYN had put me on Prometrium (100 mg pill) from the day I ovalate until I start my period or until I am 12 weeks pregnant. I went for blood work week before last on day 25 of my cycle, and my progesterone levels were low. I have now been upped to 200 mg a day. My Dr. explained that if I didn't have enough progesterone, that my body would see an egg (even if it is fertilized) as a foreign body, and I would go ahead and start my period. I'll keep you posted on the results.

I was on progesterone supplements for a borderline level (12) Started before 5 weeks. Miscarried at 10 weeks, despite having seen the heartbeat at 8 weeks.... If something else is wrong in addition or in lieu or progesterone problem, mc will still happen, unfortunately. There are huge threads on this topic under PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS....
