I am going to rent one also. Today I went to my OB and the nurse let me hear the baby's heartbeat. I wasn't scheduled for an appointment but I had stayed up reading about pregnancy loss and I let my mind go crazy. I am an RN which is worse actually because of all the bad things you see. Anyway, I will probably be listening all the time but at least I will stay sane. I cannot stress like this until March!

I asked by OB about it and she said don't bother, they are not that great. I'm 21 weeks and should be able to hear the heartbeat soon w/ just a stethascope (sp), which i have a hospital grade one at home....the doc located about where the heartbeat would be so i could try it at home, left side between bellyb___ton and top of pubic bone.....he's a lefty...always on that side.
