I got an ultrasound at 61/2 weeks and now i am going to be in my 8th week tomorrow. I am scared that i might be miscarrying. (getting brown discharge). How do i convince my doc to order another ultrasound for me. This first trimester pregnancy is such a roller coaster ride. In my last ultrasound the heart beat was about 118

worried .. we also had an u/s at 6 wks and heard the babys h/b (also 118!!). then got really scared in the beginning of 8th week because of brown discharge (i had a m/c last year). my dr. said she normally wouldn't be concerned with brown discharge, but with my history (age-39; m/c; and 35lbs overweight - all obviously high risk) she made me come in immediately to do u/s (v____al). not only did the fetus grow, but the h/b was stronger (168). turns out that the brown discharge was old blood. apparently your cervix is very sensitive at this time and any probing (i.e. s_x) could cause it. my husband and i laid off on s_x and although the brown spotting has gone away, the white discharge is there (which again, i was told normal). Also, the doc told me that sometimes the brown discharge/spotting can occur throughout the pregnancy. Every woman is different. We're now at the end of 10 weeks and everything is GREAT!
