Walking On Eggshells

I am over 35 :( 37 to be exact and I am 9 weeks. I have two kids ages 13 and 10 both boys and after my second I had 3 miscarriages so I am walking on eggsh__ls. At 5 weeks I started spotting and thought "here we go again" I lost the other 3 all at 5 weeks. This one was different - It was spotting and no heavy bleeding. I could not get in to see my doctor so I went to the ER. They did bloodwork and an ultrasound and the doctor came and basically told me to stay and have a D&C. Thankfully I could not stay. So I made a doctors appt. for two weeks later and just thought it would happen on its own so I wore a pad for two weeks grrrrrr. I finally got to my doctor. When they did the bloodwork at the hosp. my levels were at 2000 she did it again and they went up to 54000!!!! she sent me for an ultrasound the following week and there was a heartbeat! I know I am not in the clear yet but with morning sickness and a heartbeat apparently your chances of anything happening drop to 5% Just wondering if anyone had any similar experience and went on to have a healty baby?

wow Aisha! Thank Goodness you didnt stay in the ER!! Im dumbfounded that the doc suggested a D&C. How many otherwise healthy babies are aborted unknowingly...Unbelievable. Congrats...way to go w/your instincts and good luck. Its already a miracle child!

suze42 thanks for your response and yes i think it will be that miracle baby!!! my fingers are still crossed all the time. I did put in a complaint with the hospital admin. and I won't go there to deliver now although my other two were born there. I just don't trust them right now.

yeah Aisha, its probably not worth pursuing with the doctor or the hosptial if its upsetting to you.... Good idea not delivering there!!!

Hi aisha... I'm so happy that you couldn't stay in the hospital and astounded that they wanted to do a d & c because of some spotting. I went into the hospital when I was 7 weeks because of heavy bleeding and they checked that my cervix was still closed and sent me for an ultrasound to make sure all was okay, and then told me to rest up and go home. I'm not sure if it's made the difference or not, but my doctor put me on natural progesterone suppositories almost right away and I'm still holding on at almost 16 weeks now. I had a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks and because of that and my age (41) I went on them after reading up quite a bit about them. My family doctor didn't know about it, but I asked him to see a specialist right away, and when he contacted him, he told my family doc to put me on the progesterone while I was waiting for my appointment to see him. Good luck to you, my fingers are crossed for you.
