At my 19 week ultrasound, my cervix was noted to be 2.5 cm and closed. This is my third pregnancy. I previously delivered two healthy babies at term (40 and 41 weeks).
I of course did some reading (bad idea) based on the result, and course freaked out, assuming the worst about pre-term labour. I saw my doctor today who said that 2.5 cm is thin, but not overly concerning, especially in a third pregnancy, that he wants to monitor my cervix every 3 weeks by transva___al ultrasound, and that I should "take it easy" (ie: no gym, strenuous exercise, heavy activity), but that I could otherwise go about my life as normal.
Everyone else with a 2.5 cm cervix seems to be on bedrest. Do you think my doctor's plan seems crazy? He's been my doctor since pregnancy #1, and I do really trust him. Thoughts?
