Anyone Ever Used A Nipplete

Hello all! My question is has anyone here ever used a "nipplete"? I had real problems trying to br___tfeed my DD partly as my milk took ages to come in but also having inverted nipples didn't help. Tried & tried but had to give up in the end (expressed milk until my supply dried up) The nipplete is meant to help "pull out" your nipples. I used it a bit before conceiving again and have been using it since as it says it's fine to use while pregnant just not recommmended in the last 2 months incase your body gets confused and starts producing milk to early so I will stop well in time. (I am 20 weeks on Wednesday) Just wondered if anyone else had used it or knows anyone who has used it and if it was successful - I'm hoping it will help if only a little bit. Will certainly try br___tfeeding again. Thanks in advance xxxx

Hi Alison, when I was preg. w/ my 1st child I used the nipple-shield to help my baby to latch on my b___st, it did work but its not recomended to use it at all times. It's only to help your baby to have a good latching on the b___st and you have to be very careful because if it's not appropiately used it will hurt your nipples for a few days. I used it for about 3 weeks and I b___st fed my dd for about 8 mts. Now I'm 25 weeks preg. and i'm planning to b___stfeed. My problem is that I had a cesarean w/ my 1st and by the time I tried to b___st fed him, my b___sts were so full and my nipples were very stretched and I also had the mast_tis problem, but I still successfully b___st fed my baby. I found the nipple shields at target.com

Thanks anahi I will do. Glad you're doing well. I am keeping ok still queasy & am still sick occasionally but not every day anymore lol! Very tired though! Bump is rapidly expanding which is fun! :-) Love having a bump! Wow you're 25 weeks now! I'll post about my scan xxxx

Hey Anahi not good news. My 20wk scan showed several abnormalities - low amniotic fluid, small abdomen and chest, and 3 heart chambers instead of 4 (though heart is beating well at a good normal rate) Also baby's head shape is lemon shaped ??? and profile flatter than "normal" (think that was all the things my mind is mashed just now!) Anyway it is looking pretty certain baby has a chromosonal defect the most likely being Edwards or Downs syndrome. We avoided an amnio before but considering what they saw today we have changed our minds and are now having an amnio on Monday. Partly because if it is Edwards it is not compatible with life and it would change how they would handle the birth etc as even if a baby with Edwards survives until birth he/she will die shortly after. So I wanted to avoid an amnio but we discussed it and feel it is better to do it than not to do it at this stage in things. I should get the first results on Wednesday afternoon then the full results in about 2 - 3 weeks they said. We got a couple of pics of baby he/she had his/her hand up near their face and was waving. So all we can do now is wait for the amnio and pray that if there is definately a chromosonal defect that it is Down's and not Edwards. There is a small chance it is not chromosonal and purely a heart issue (which would be treatable with an operation after birth) but the consultant didn't think this was likely. So please send us all your prayers and hugs we need them!!!! Lots of love, Ali xxxx

Hi Alison I wanted to tell you that it is very sad to hear the bad news about your baby, but you know what sometimes doctors and scans are wrong. It is good that you decided to go for the amnio so they can a__sure what is going on with your baby. You know what when I was told that my baby was at high risk for Down's I just closed my ayes and asked God if he knew my baby would suffer in life to take her away from me at the time of the amnio, but no matter what was the results going to be I was already loving her with all my heart my tiny beautiful baby. So please don't give up and give your baby the best while in womb and talk, sing to her/him don't let her feel your suffering..God will be on your side. I will pray for you and your baby!!...

Thanks girls. I haven't got the first results yet hoping to get them tomorrow, been resting and taking it easy. Doesn't seem real and no matter what the consultant says I can't give up on my baby yet, maybe I'm in denial. I can feel him/her moving. It comforts and breaks my heart all at once. I keep praying for him/her and blessing him/her and saying how much I love him/her. My little fighter. xxxx
