BREAST OR BOTTLE

I have been drawn back and forth on wether or not to br___t feed or use a bottle. My mom says not to br___t feed because it's painful (she's a mother of four) but my husband suggests br___tfeeding because that is the natural way of things. He gets this from his mother who had 13 children. I am just so confused! Any advice?

I'd go with b___st feeding for the first few months then you can decide. Breas feeding is better for the baby, and is digested easier than formula. It's also a great bonding time for new mom and baby.

I know exactly how you feel. I have been debating which I would rather do. I agree with Tara that b___stfeeding is better. The problem is it will take some getting used to. I have always been told that if you can get past the first few days, then you will probably enjoy b___stfeeding. The first few days you and your baby will both be learning so it may not be comfortable and it may hurt. You have to really be dedicated to doing it. I want to give it a shot, but I am not patient and am afraid I will quit too soon if things don't go too smoothly right away. Bottle feeding is not a terrible thing either. I have known plenty of healthy bottle fed babies. Good luck with whatever decision you make. I think I would try b___stfeeding to see what you think. You can always go to bottlefeeding if you decide it isn't for you. ~26 wks and 5 days preg.~

I have heard that b___st-fed babies are less likely to develop infections and food allergies. They also have higher IQ's later in life.. It also helps the mothers body return to normal after birth. Why not at least TRY something that is natural and healthy for both mom and baby! 23 weeks preg.~

I thought I would only b___st feed my sons for the first year, I b___st feed them for 16- 18 months . I never thought that I would. Breast feeding can be somewhat difficult, but not always the first time .Several things you must do is make sure that the baby is properly latched on, I didnt with my first I was just exciteted that he was nursing I payed later with a cracked nipple. Get a good lanoline cream it really helps. The pluses to b___st feeding are a ready supply no matter where you are .You don;t have to guess if the babys hungry .you offer the brast if he/she doesnt want it you didnt have to make up a bottleonly to find that the baby had wet a diper again ect. But you have to be the one to choose, I am 16 weeks pregnant now and I will also b___st feed this one to be quite honest I couldnt afford to buy the formula even if I wanted to.

Hiya Maria, you do what you think is right.. b___stfeeding isnt for everyone so you dont have to worry about being a bad person if you dont want to do it.. but if your willing to try it for the first few weeks then good. but bottle fed babys are still just as healthy as b___stfed.. also about that saying "if you b___stfeed your shape comes back faster" let me tell you that isnt always true..maybe its happend for some but it defently didnt happen for me..im on my 3rd pregnancy and with my first i b___stfed my shape took so long to get back to normal my second i bottle fed and i got back to my shape faster..so just letting you know my opinion on that...but good luck to you and you do what you think is right :)

b___stfeeding is definatly worth a shot. my first baby ended up on formula, it was expencive, and stinky, and he was alergic to the first 3 types we tried. in the first year of his life he had pnemonia twice, bronchit_ts, food alergies and constant ear infections. my second was b___stfed and has never even had an ear infection. it can be painful at first for some moms. but if you can get a good latch it's pretty smooth sailing. the first two weeks are tough, but the first two weeks with a new baby are always tough. good luck making your decision, whatever you choose as long as baby gets lots of love you cant go wrong.

Its all what you want to do and prefer, my mum b___st feed me and i have bad allergies and she didnt b___st feed my sister who has nothing wrong with her! the point is not to stress about it when you try it as the baby senses this and doesnt relax either. Stay calm and if it doesnt turn out use the bottle but you have to be comfortable with what you do
