everything I have read or heard says that sleeping on your stomach poses no threat to you or your baby.. so do it till it isnt comfortable anymore.. and trust me it will get uncomfortable lol. you can sleep in pretty much any position that is more comfortable to you, if you roll onto your back dont worry bout it to much.. your body naturally shifts during sleep and you will move or wake up if your body senses something is wrong. good luck hon, I hope you stay comfortable and get good sleep for a long time! lol I miss sleeping well!

It is recommended that you sleep on your left side, as it is best for circulation.

thats true about the left side bit... Im sorry I didnt answer the first part of your post. the "best" position is your left side for many reasons... its over all just good for you and baby :) but like I said before sleep however you like as long as you are comfortable :)

This is something I am having a hard time with too. I wake up all night long and Im on my back. I fall asleep on my side and wake up that way. Its more comfortable to sleep on my back but I am making an honest effort to sleep on my side. Thats all you can do.

Gina, I think any position that you can get a good nights sleep in is alright. Liekt he other ladies have said, if your body detects that it si not a good position, it will shift itself automatically. I am 30w and I have slept flat on my back my whole pregnancy. It is the only comfortable position for me. Eventually you will not be able to sleep on your tummy anymore because you wont be able to balance!! Do you ahve one of those snoozer pregnancy pillows?? They are fantastic and super comfortable. Good luck with your sleeping! :)

I found it really hard to sleep comfortably with my first, laying on my back and my tummy both hurt, laying on my sides was ok but after awhile my hips would just be throbbing. So my sister, god bless her, bought this preg. pillow called a snuggly and i used it every day for the remainder of my pregnancy, you can use it afterwards for b___stfeeding too. I think the only place we found them was at Toys'R'Us. they are really worth it!
