Make sure you call your insurance provider FIRST. The hospital insisted that I was covered when I delivered my last baby. I was going to be reliant on a pump since he was expected to be in the NICU for at least a month. Well, I took one home and barely used it (it smelled horrible!) by the time I got around to returning it (between caring for my 20 mos old and running back and forth to the hospital) Ihad a nice fat bill to pay. Univera didn't pick up any of the tab. Just call ahead to make sure. If you're planning to have more than 1 or will really depend on it the investment on a good pump is well worth it if you can swing the $. Or take "donations" at your shower. (Sounds lame but hey - every penny helps!)
