I am pregnant for the first time. I am 16 weeks pregnant and I still sleep on my stomach. The only thing is I get a really bad pain in my br___ts sometimes. Is it bad for me to be sleeping on my tummy?

Yes, they recommend by the 2nd Trimester to sleep on your side. Either right or left, but left is the best for circulation.

I still sleep half on my stomach and I'm a day shy of 28 weeks. You'll feel uncomfortable before it'll do any damage. I don't know if you have large b___sts but maybe thats why its causing pain? I would avoid it if caused any pain or made you uncomfortable.

No stomach sleeping. Left side is best.

Dr. Marjorie Greenfield specializes in pregnancy and birth. She can be found on drspock.com, her answer to this question, "Good news for you! There is no problem with sleeping on your tummy if it's comfortable. Remember that the baby is cushioned in a sac of amniotic fluid and protected by the uterine wall. Your weight won't hurt your baby. Usually by mid-pregnancy, or a little later, it feels like you are lying on a lump, and you end up having to find an alternate position. But as long as you're comfortable, go ahead and enjoy."

I'm only 12 1/2 weeks and I've always slept on my stomach and I've already had to find an alternative position. It already feels like I'm sleeping with a hacky sack or something under my belly.
